Been sober 8 years. I was a dedicated alcoholic, the kind that doesn’t miss a day or need an excuse to have a drink. Worked a high stress job, had a messed up personal life plus my body was physically a mess.
Could drink a bottle of Vodka a day plus whatever else got thrown my way.
Then one day I met a girl, a very special girl. Things were going good, I was able to hide my drinking from her. Then one day it happened, I got super super messed up. I mean messed about 5 minutes from landing in jail. Called her up told
Her which alley I was in, that’s all I remember. I woke up the next day in my bed. Butt naked all washed up but with a hangover from hell. She came in looked at me and said Ive done this once before and won’t do it again. This is your one chance. I love you but it happens again….I’m gone…..long story short I decided I could not risk losing her. Went cold Turkey never looked back, been happily married 5 years now. My wife saved my life and it was the easiest decision I’ve ever made.

damn. this hit harder than expected, just got out of a 2 and a half year relationship, she told me she was leaving me because i put her through hell arguing the whole year prior, when i asked her who started the arguments she admitted that she started 90% of them and that she regretting starting unnecessary drama but still said i was at fault for calling her out for it. really sucks sharing that kind of love and connection with someone who disregards you the second that they realize that in order to keep loving you, they’d have to put aside their ego and own up to their actions and faults. i still think the world of her and hope she gets better and reaches her best self but i’m worth more than to apologize for being upset when she’d take her anger out on me due to her own issues. she blamed me for “letting her drift away”when i’d carry every convo or “always going around in circles” in arguments when i would keep asking her why she was upset and all she could do is cuss me out and straight up tell me to read her mind because she was emotionally immature. her friend noticed she was treating me poorly and talked her shit abt her which all she said was true, gf found out and told me she couldn’t trust me because i didn’t tell her but why would i if it’s true and i don’t want to end a 16 year friendship over the truth, her friend ended up apologizing and said it was a joke and she didn’t mean it, i told myself i was done with that fake apology bs and stood on business and told her that her friend was right so she’s good with her but hates me for what she forgave her own friend for saying lol. goes to show how a relationship only ends when the girl has doubts, she told me we’d talk abt our relationship and ended up never texting me for i ever 2 weeks because she didn’t want to “ruin her mood” by that time whatever love i had for her was far gone. so in affect, both fuck you and God bless lmao

I’m 57 and a hard core classic Rock, Singer song writer, 70s early 80s music fanatic. Except for a few songs here and there I thought music was dead and gone forever. This guy gives me great hope and stands out above all others. His voice, his heart felt deliveries and lyrics are next level. It’s been years since someone like him has come along! Saw him in Hartford Connecticut and the energy was off the scale the entire Show. He’s amazing and I will be waiting for him to come back to the Northeast. I will drive hours to see him👍.

Back listening this song, and still friking hurts, makes me mad and sad at the same time. It really sucks to love a person who doesn't love you back, or at least that's what it looks like. I don't regret putting miles on a vehicle, praying for that person, or doing anything I did for him, what I do regret is not listening to my heart when it was telling me not to put my eyes on him. Now I've wasted almost two years waiting for him to make a decision about us, to give himself a chance to love and to be loved, but after trying everything, I have made the decision to step away and pretend like "nothing" happened. Like I never met him before. 😔 It will be hard, but I think God's plan for me is different, is something else, is a test for me to learn something out of this, not sure what it is yet, but damn it hurt to figure it out 😔

This song is my life. 18 years of marriage to a woman who loved me but she couldn’t ever forgive or forget the small things over the years.. even though I did that for her. She pulled away from me and her 17 year old son and just left one morning. She is cold and I don’t recognize her at all. I didn’t see it coming. There was much more good precious things in our life worth fighting for but she couldn’t see them. I die inside every day and after 2 months it’s not easier. I’ve said everything I could think of but it falls on deaf ears.Today is our 18th year anniversary and she wouldn’t even see me. I drive a Chevy killing myself to make everything and she never worked. I was happy to provide all her needs and wants. All my prayers for her over all these years didn’t seem to change anything. I’m afraid of that day coming where I let her go.. but not today. God help me with this empty aching heart dying inside me.

What makes this so good is not just the lyrics. It’s the pain in his voice you can feel the experience. And even deeper cut are the cords themselves just the raw feeling they project is so visceral. It doesn’t get much better folks.

Just ended a 6 year relationship this morning and even in all my anger I still apologized to her for me wanting to love her as much as I did. How would you know if the right soulmate is there and you don't know if she might think the same way as you because sometimes a person pretends to be something that there not. That's what happened to my ex-wife. Since 2012 I was divorce and my good friend from another continental location have help me,The issue is she's being in a relationship that's a bad boy and doesn't see the light in good people like me because good people are hard to find. Then I lost a nice friend that would be a companion to talk to but never responded my calls, stood me up and found out no matter how passionate patient I was, I heard on the local news that she was killed by a crosswalk that scared me for life and I ask myself that I didn't do nothing wrong but I did everything right to be supportive.
Same situation, I'm trying to get out of. I'm 27 trying to work with multiple health issues, schizophrenia, going back to get my hs diploma, then off to college for nursing. 5 years of domestic violence. He wouldn't let me work until recently, or go back to school which I've wanted to do for years. Even being in the hospital 2 weeks after a car wreck he didn't come see me once.
