      It was Poland's conceit that they told Great Britain and France they would not go into any formal alliance with USSR. It was this Polish decision against UK/French advice that precipitated the WW2. Polish horse cavalry against German tanks. As a slav I blame Polish arrogance for the Slav holocaust. More slavs killed than any another race.

And the Poles would do well to remember, they aren't historically innocent victims. They attacked their neighbors lots of times. And arguably, they caused WWII. They really should have given 95% German Danzig back to Germany, and accepted the entirely reasonable, even overly generous terms then offered, rather than viewing themselves as swashbuckling heroes ready, eager even, to take on all challengers.
      (P.S., your present humble writter has been in every province of Poland, about two years in total. There is much to admire, and much to be sickened by. We all need quite a bit more Christian humility. )

      Poland was stuck between two powers, Germany and the Soviet Union, both occupied Poland prior to the war, sharing the spoils.
      The Soviets did not liberate Poland, they were a means to an end, as they marched towards the German Reich.
      So Poland was not 'liberated' after the war, it was occupied and abandoned by the western nations to their fate.
      It took Polish spirit and fight to liberate themselves from a foreign influence, achieved by their own hand.

      @@philiprenshaw9184 l know the history of my country, Poland was liberated from German occupation by Red Army together with Polish Army that was created on the territory of USSR. Red Army stopped in Berlin.
      Don't be naive, after the collapse of Berlin wall, the west acted like hyenas all the national infrastructure was grabbed by the west for peanuts. Our natural resources are also taken from our control. The banks were merciless in exploring Poles not used to this new western tricks. Now we Poles have nothing as a nation only big dept.
      They tried the same with Russia but at one point Russia woke up and regain the control over the country. That's why Putin is so popular amongst Russians and the west is extra bitter. Sorry for this long post but you may wish to do some research yourself for better understanding.

    I don't really believe Putin worries too much about what Poland says nowadays. It's clear that with only 15% of Russia's fighting force committed to the Donbas that they are ready and waiting for any potential incursion from Nato. All this sabre-rattling is actually doing in my view, is clearly demonstrate how impotent Nato really is. Putin's restraint is quite remarkable considering the endless provocation.     The words of Sikiorski are the same as what Vic Nuland said when she visited Kiev just before she got fired, namely that Russia would get some surprises. Well, one surprise was terrorist acts last week on the civilians of the city of Belgorod + trying to take a village at the border there and another one could be that the USA is building a huge military base in Romania and an 'unsinkable sub' to put in the Black Sea, because the USA apparently is fighting to get the Black Sea under its control. Nuland also announced 'asymmetric warfare' and that means terrorism and guerilla warfare. No surprises so far.

      The camps were built on Polish terytory by occupaing German fascists. Thousands of Poles were killed there including brother of my grandfather. Many well known today companies colaborated e.g. simens supplied the crematorium ovens to the concentration camps and hugo boss designed the SS uniforms.
