i always try to peel an orange in 1 piece, so any practice i can get in is great. plus i like seeing someone happy, because you do something special but mediocre for them. About the girl that cancelled the date: if she is so high maintenance - and she knows it - and is not willing to accept anything less from a partner, it's better to turn down the first date then to go, let him pay for the date knowing it's not gonna go further.

It kind of feels silly that a simple act such as peeling an orange for you is being a test but I feel like it’s about the way they do it, I mean the first guy was so sweet about it and didn’t even question her on the other hand we have the “you’re not special” guy so that proves the point.

My mom does this and not to prove their relationship, but because she didn’t feel like doing the task. She would ask me too and when I complained because it was something she could do herself, I would get guilted because she does so much for me or told “Just wait until you need a favor.” Half the things I do for her is to avoid retaliation or a reactionary response. It was her responsibility to agree on a place where she can get with a preferred way of transportation. If you cannot get to a spot, offer change of plans or explain the situation. Actually peeling an orange or serving any type of fruit to your loved ones is just a traditional standard that was used in asia. Or maybe it's used even now. Hell no, that is simply disrespectful towards the guy. Don't get me wrong, it's okay to have requests but this kind of "Princess Treatment" is ruining healthy expectations in the dating scene and putting too much pressure on the other person.
