Amy Lee and Sean Morgan (lead singer of Seether) dated for a while. It is one hell of a coincidence that Evanescence's first release after the breakup was this song. Seether's first release was "Fake It". Both of them claim that the songs had nothing to do the other person. I guess the question is, do you believe in coincidence or not.

This band has been a part of my life for over 20 years. Amy is just amazing live. 20 years ago and this year. I just feel seen when she sings.

Evanescence was one of the best bands of the era. They were forced by their record label into being something they didn't want to be, but TBH the record label were right on about the Zeitgeist at the time (a rare thing). Those first two albums ("Anywhere But Home" and "The Open Door") were as huge as ANYTHING in the 2000's and their self titled third album was right up there too.
If I'm given the lottery pick of women from rock music history Amy Lee from "Going Under" and Amy Lee from "Call me when you're sober" are two of my top 5 picks ever. She's got incredible presence and amazing vocals with such power. When you throw up names like Stevie Nicks and her passion in "The Chain" with ex Lindsay Buckingham, or Shirley Manson from Garbage, or Pat Benetar in Love is a Battlefield, or Debbie Harry (Blondie) singing Heart of Glass, or Suze Demarchi (Baby Animals) singing Rush You, or Joan Jett doing Crimson and Clover, or Ann Wilson from Heart doing Barracuda, or Chrissy Amphlett from the Divinyls doing Boys in Town.
So many good options and Amy and her stunning voice get her right up there.

Favorite Evanescence track. It’s one of those holy grail karaoke songs: never heard anyone try it (maybe I’m at wrong shows…); instead it’s always “Bring Me to Life”, which is a great song, except for all the parts where I hear dudes voice…..

You listened to Seether - Broken with Amy Lee.
And now this song where she sing about their relationship. Now you should really give Seether a chance. They write amazing music, he has an amazing voice.
Also, the reason for this song, him drinking. Part of that reason was his loss of his brother to suicide. Seether wrote a song about it call " Rise above this " while his brother was still alive, but in deep depression. After his brothers dead and his own battle with alcohol he got clean. And started doing work with mental health issues. Supporting and donating and playing to rise money for it.
But I really think you would love some of Seethers songs.
Tied my hands or The Gift is some of my favorites. More slow songs.
Rise Above this is more known.
Fine again or his cover of Careless Whisper is also good.

It has her 1st new material after rejoining group. Yes she left. When she gave look into Synthesis Album she said i want this album to sound the way I initially saw Evanescence sounding. Vs what labels and others In band wanted. Imo it's amazing. Ties original just different vibe and arrangement. She did it with an orchestra.
