What's your favorite rig for Fluke? Let me know. Thanks for watching and I hope you learned something new!
3/8 jig head with a gulp jerk shad
I usually use a chicken rig from the jetty or beach. Also use a bucktail teaser rig from boat or kayak tight lines great videos !
@@joshrussell9460 thanks Josh! I’m a big fan of the chicken rig from the jetty and beach as well. Thanks for watching!
Do you want to try something if you catch a bluefish grind it up real fine I’m talking about fine like baby food dip all lures in that mixture. I’m telling you it works really good. It’s like them ultimate scent for your plastics scrubs whatever you wanna call them.
Interesting, thanks for the tip!
I've used the same rig you do, but I use a 1/2 s&s bucktail for the weight, and it produces some big fluke on the bottom bucktail. Great video. I live in a seaisle and their are big fluke in the surf out front
Yep the big Fluke are certainly lurking out there, especially as we turn the corner into July and then August! Bucktails on the bottom of this rig are super effective, I agree.
Your videos never disappoint!! Love the tutorials as always!
Thanks for your continued support!
I loved this video thank you.
You are at your best.
Sincerely
Thank you, I really appreciate that!
Just found your channel and am amazed you don't have way more subs. Amazing quality stuff! hello from a new subscriber :)
Thanks, I appreciate that, welcome!
More tutorials! Always well done. Good luck with fluke this summer!
More on the way for sure! Thank you, tight lines!
Awesome video Sam! Super informative. The new fluke fanny pack looks perfect for a long walk on the beach, keeping it light!
Thanks man, I'm glad you found it informative! The light set up has definitely been helping me be less sweaty lugging everything up and down the beach 😂
Great video. I like the gear portion. I'd love to see more equipment videos. Keep them coming.
Thanks, will have more equipment videos in the future!
Love your channel bro, you’re gonna be huge one day. Would love to fish with you
Thanks Justin, I appreciate that!
Great taste in knives!
Haha thanks!
We don't have fluke up here but we do get some nice winter flounder. I use pre tied snell hook rigs with a #4 or 6 long shank hook on 8 pound line and a couple of glow beads. Basically a high-low rig and depending on the current I run from 3/4 ounces of lead all the way up to 5 ounce. And we use night crawlers. I also thread a size 10 dry fly hook on the leader between the beads and the bait hook, that is used to keep the worm from sliding down the main hook. I've landed some 15 and 16 inch flounder on that little stinger hook. Great video!
Thanks for the info David, i appreciate you sharing that technique!
I’m here 1st 🎉 couldnt wait ti see this 🙏🏽👏🏽 got my first flouder recently, cant wait for my 1st Stripe Bass ♥️ Awesome video
Congrats on the first flounder, they're a ton of fun to catch! Fall striper season is right around the corner too.
Love the pared down fluke kit. Most of my freshwater fishing trips can be simplified to fit in a waist pack just like that one, but I never know what I'll get into in saltwater, so I end up taking too much stuff.
I completely agree, Michael! Saltwater fishing definitely poses a lot of unexpected challenges and catches but, sometimes it is better to be over-prepared than under-prepared, so I feel you on that!
Great Video....informative....try the 1/4 oz jig next time..
Thanks, glad you found it informative! I’ve got a 1/4oz jig video on the way.
SP minnow catch and cook!
😂 😂 hahaha love the taste of plastic and rust, I’ll give it a shot!
@@SaltySamFishing Extra tartar sauce!
I liked everything I heard, but one thing I question about what I saw here was in the beginning of this video you had to hook, facing down when you’re trolling along the bottom your hook is going to snag the bottom if there’s any rough area, I always think the hook should face up just my opinion
Usually the grub is far enough off the bottom that it avoids snags, so it shouldn’t be too much of a worry!
The only rig i have ever used in the surf. I am thinking of trying a single jig head this year
Single jigs are very popular this year for sure! I need to use it more to get the technique down though.
damn seeing this pop up on my feed 56 seconds after you post. i am most definitely first
😂 I respect the speed, thanks for watching!
Hey man love the content! Can you tell me what jar you used in this video for the gulp?
Thank you! It’s actually a plastic jar from some crafting rocks from Michael’s 😂 there are leak proof options out there like Bait Mules though. I figured just this worked well for the bag!
great video for getting started to fluke fishing, thanks you said those link are not affiliate links but they look like it
Glad you enjoyed! Nope, I’m not set up as an affiliate. The links were extremely long so to save on character space in the description I used a link shortener to get those condensed URLs.
@@SaltySamFishing that is cool i sorry i am old dont knew that
@@pj3039 All good! Thanks for watching!
Great video! quick question, would I be able to fit a 32oz water bottle in the water holder on the waist pack?
I would say it depends on the bottle. It may be a tight squeeze but likely could, especially if its taller than it is wide. The jar I have in there now is 40oz but is a taller jar. So, I would think 32oz could fit! Sorry that's not a great answer but I hope it helps a little. Thank you for watching!
Do you have a background in design/film? The production quality and animations are next level, really separates your channel from the rest. Love your videos
Thanks I really appreciate that! Yep I do actually, I definitely have fun merging my two hobbies!
great video sam...are you the artist who designed the illustrations?....and go giants!
Thanks for watching and yep, all designs are done by me! Go Giants!
What beach you fishing? Also I’m getting my first general purpose inshore/flounder rod, what rod do you use and what are the specs if you don’t mind telling me. I’m thinking about getting a Daiwa BG and a tsunami carbon shield II.
I use the Fish Heads Inshore 7’ medium power rod with a Penn Battle III DX 3000 size. That’s an awesome set up you’ve got going, good luck out there and tight lines!
