    Thank you so very much for doing these videos!! I love EVERYTHING about them and I'm only through the first 6 lessons. I can honestly say that your style of teaching is for me!! I watch a LOT of CZcams tutorials and yours is by far the best for my learning style and personality in the area of watercolor. I am planning to take my materials with me on an upcoming vacation and will be so grateful for the solid foundation you have taught!! I can now spend time practicing and growing!! Sending you a great BIG HUG of gratitude!! 🙂

    I watch through ahead of time to get myself set up and then a second time as I paint along. You are correct with how relaxing and satisfying it is to see the colors blend. I truly enjoy the joy in your voice as you celebrate color and color blending. You are a natural at teaching and exploring.

    These introductory tutorials have been so complete and so helpful. I particularly loved the layering and blending exercises (both what works well and what doesn't!), as I'm in awe of the variety of leaves in your book and can't wait to see how these techniques are executed in real time!

    Thank you Harriet! Your watercolour exercises are very helpful. Also a wonderful mindful activity for when you feel a bit stressed! There are so many variations in technique and materials, that it’s very mind blowing for a beginner. Your videos really help me to simplify and understand what is happening on the paper.

    Hi Harriet, I have been loving your tutorials, thank you for doing these. They are a lovely pace and perfect to paint along with you. Also, great length of time as well, completely achievable and it feels good to actually finish a lesson with a result at the end. The colour charts were fab, and I am so pleased I have these as references now. I really look forward to the next ones. Chloe X

    In order to peel off the washitape without tearing the paper appart you culd use hot air of a hair dryer to make it easier to get off. 🙋🏻‍♀️

    Another excellent addition to the course you've laid for us. Thank you so much for going over these fundamentals. They strike me as important and not simply a once-and-done proposition, but something that should be perfected over time and for more than simply a perfect circle. I'm a bagpiper and we often go on about practicing fundamentals, basic movements, and embellishments. What's interesting is that while muscle memory eventually does its job and exercises become second nature, the ear never ceases to listen and analyze, never stops feeding the brain potentials, possibilities, or making new connections with other pieces of music. The smooth circles which you make look so effortless due, I'm sure, to countless hours invested, remind me of practicing fundamentals. The parallel was further deepened by your delight at the color reactions. Your eye, like my ear, never ceases watching, analyzing and feeding your brain appreciations, inspirations and connections. Though you maybe able, I suspect, to paint circles in your sleep, its the results that your eye records and your brain plays with that matters so much. An argument I suppose for practicing fundamentals and often filling pages of circles, blending, and layering.

  • @kingfisherdesignsmetals

    Thank you so much! I have just bought your book and it is great. I can't wait to work with it. I am a metalsmith (I do botanical chasing and repousse'). But I am loving watercolor for its spontaneity and fluid quality. At least as difficult, but not as stubborn as metals.

    This was fun, but my W&N Sap green (cake) looks nothing like yours from the tube - it was impossible to get it opaque. Is this common between Tube and Pans? Just wondering

    • @deWintonPaperCo
      @deWintonPaperCo  Před 3 lety +1

      It might be a little bit to do with the light in the video and the edit or a different pigment level. Don’t be disheartened, you can always collect more green tones as you go and mix new ones too

    • @deWintonPaperCo
      @deWintonPaperCo  Před 3 lety +1

      I think it might be the pigment level causing the problem. You want to get artist or professional quality
