  • Got in a nice whirlpool washer with a bad basket hub. You can tell by spinning the washplate and it free spinning from the drum. And it through the basket speed sensor fault f7e1 which we tested with the tachometer test. That’s in another video. We try and save the stuck washplate. First with bags then the puller. But it finally broke loose. Thanks for watching. DIY at your own risk. Always wear eye protection when doing this #diy #whirlpools

Oh yeah I usually just microwave a cup of water for about 2 min. Usually one or two splashes works. Duh I forgot this go around 🤣 thanks for the reminder because I have another stuck washplate to remove today. Fun fun

@@dougwright5014 an updated basket hub? Not sure. I’ll have to look into it. There is a metal hub that has a spanner nut. But I don’t believe it is any better really. Because it is cheap cast metal. It might be a little stronger than the plastic one.

@@LAapplianceguy yes the metal... i just started to use those seem to be very strong so far

@@dougwright5014 yes, they have worked for me too. Wish they had one made out of proper metal but they would probably be much more expensive.

you tube>bens appliance and junk. He sells the metal parts because the plastic junk wears out quickly.

@@philwood9760 thank you for the feedback. I think it comes down to the condition of the splines on the shaft too. If the shaft is boogered up too back the metal or plastic is still gonna strip. 👍
