Performed by "The King's Consort",performed on a baroque trumpet by "Crispian Steele-Perkins" & directed by the harpischord player "Robert King". THIS VIDEO BELONGS TO THE BBC.
very few people, trumpet players included, appreciate just how difficult it is to play on the natural trumpets of the baroque period. This is very exceptionally well done! Bravo!
I am a trumpet player and i agree after all a made a trick that turns a my modern Bb trumpet into a D natural trumpet and i could nt even play a single piece even the piccolo trumpet is easier
I can't say enough how impressed I am by the playing of Crispian Steele-Perkins. Everything he does is so masterful: impeccable rhythm, articulation, intonation, and marvelously tasteful style. He radiates both solidity and artistry.
I think it is an acquired taste. Saying that I have tried to acquire a taste for Rap music, but it remains a monotonous beat to my ear, that just goes on and on and on.
I met Mr. Steele-Perkins when he came to Colorado once. He was good friends with my trumpet teacher. Still one of the most fantastic natural trumpet players!
@@autodidact2499 I know this is a bit late, but if he is playing a natural trumpet (sometimes called a baroque trumpet) then why is it ridiculous to say he's a fantastic natural trumpet player?

The trumpeter is highly skilled with his choice of instrument known as a Baroque trumpet. It's very seldom one comes across this type of trumpet in modern orchestras.

wow i've never seen a trumpet like that before? how does it work without the keys!?! and it looks longer than the normal one too! i was playing as part of the orchestra for this piece today, and i love it!

It's because he's not playing a natural trumpet; he's playing a Baroque trumpet, which is designed with a number (usually 3 or 4) of finger holes to adjust intonation. A natural trumpet has an opening at the mouthpiece and at the bell, period, and requires superior skill to play with decent intonation.
Richard Hecht, Yes. Last month I watched and listened to the structures and sounds of Beethoven's 7th roll through me. Sometimes tears welled up in my eyes.

The trumpet he's using is NOT a baroque or natural trumpet.
I love Handel’s brass work, it’s timeless and iconic

Wonderful Baroque trumpet sound. The player is indeed remarkable to achieve the mellow sound.
God I like how loud and clearly one hears the different parts and yet still can enjoy how complete it sounds.
I could listen to music like this all day!
Just beautiful. Long live music from the Baroque era!
Forever ! Eternity.
It is so refreshing hearing this music played on the instruments it was written for!
Crispian has such amazing control, especially with dynamics.
I always cry when I listen this Haendel's baroque pieces, they're so excellent...
People that hate classical music don't know what their missing! Great music!

No such thing as a "natural [sic]" trumpet player. What a ridiculous comment.

There is a an extra dimension when the players are clearly enjoying the playing and the music.
The word "Magnificent" does not do justice to such superb performers. This is the best rendition I have ever heard of these pieces. Theodore Sumrall

Richard Hecht,
Yes. Last month I watched and listened to the structures and sounds of Beethoven's 7th roll through me. Sometimes tears welled up in my eyes.
Bach, Handel, Beethoven, sometimes when I listen to them, it does bring a out a lot of emotions, mostly I get goose bumps.
Only painful because I cannot play trumpet that well.
