I'm, unfortunately, a Pirates fan and the only reason your braves won is simply that they wanted it more, got shut out three games in a row at home. I also remember the Cabrara base it the next year.
@@markross2124 no doubt. I had so much respect for the Pirates because of their history, they had been there the year before, and had so many big name players on that team. I was just happy the Braves had won the division after so many horrible years. As for 92, it took a lot of crazy things to happen for the Braves to get lucky in game 7. Gary Redus was from the same part of Alabama as me so it was bittersweet when he booted that ball at second in the 9th. I think he only had 6 errors all year and then had 2 in that game.
To this day I can't figure out why there were so many empty seats at this game. Games 1, 2, and 6 at Three Rivers all were sellouts and yet Game 7 had over 10,000 unsold tickets. And it wasn't even cold for this game. Made no sense.
There's no better sound than the Braves on the verge of a championship on the road and you hear the chop at the stadium. That was my favorite chop of Game 6 of the 2021 World Series while the organist was badly trying to drown it out.
The dynamics of this game…even watching it from home…you just sensed something hauntingly miserable was going to happen…and it did. Thank God the Twins best these f-ckers.
From the first pitch, you could just see that Smiley didn't have it? Exhaustion? Braves had him figured out. Tough to see unfold, perhaps the Pirates best team besides 2015 that could have won a championship.
He was just got burned out.. it happens .... .watch game 2 an 6 if that isn't great idk.... Dwight did relatively the same spite for no bad year to start but Steve avry was quite good. Just not compared to the big e
That’s what I say bout the ‘15 team. We literally had the best team in mlb. If we didn’t have to face Arieatta n a one game series, no tellin how far we could have went

As a lifelong Braves fan, watching this game on TBS was the best way to have seen this game! Skip Caray's call of the game winning run is legendary to Braves fans!
@@RJN8580 Then how in the Hell was it possible for me or anyone else WHO WAS ALIVE then to hear Skip Carey's famous call AS I WATCHED THE GAME ON MY TV?! THE GAME WAS ABSOLUTELY ON TBS!
David Cobb Sir, this game was broadcast on CBS not TBS; it would have broke the MLB contract with CBS. Lastly you only heard them on the Braves Radio Network.
Why aren’t intros this good anymore? Jack’s soliloquy is amazing.
I watched this thinking the same thing.
Networks sell that time for ad revenue and I hate it. Playoff games should use to have more pageantry.
I was 14 and a huge Braves in 1991. I can’t tell you how jacked these intros gave me before each game of the 91 NLCS.

Probably because they were Pirates fans and didn't want to see the Braves win.
Maybe we took it for granted. Back then we were good and seemed like we’d always be there

The Atlanta Braves Won Their Baseball Game Over The Pittsburgh Pirates By The Score Of 4-0 The Winning Pitcher For Atlanta Was John Smoltz
Do You Know Jack Buck Was The Play-By-Play Voice Of The St.Louis Cardinals
It has sort of gone full-circle with John Smoltz now working with Jack Buck's son, Joe as the top baseball broadcast team on Fox.
Yes. Go crazy folks, GO CRAZY!
No way! Where did you come up with this obscure gem?
CBS : spectacular intros.

I watched this wit butterflies like I did when I was 13. And just as pissed at that got dam John smiley just as I was back then.

I remember this series and how great it was, unfortunately the videos also remind me how shitty of a color guy Tim McCarver was.
On the flip side it reminds me how great a play by play guy the late Jack Buck was. So much better than his son.
Way to show everyone how dumb you are

It’s sad this is the last time the Pittsburgh Pirates mattered.
Well, there was the following year, which would be the last time that the Pirates would finish over .500 for 20 years.
great job twice john went 9 innings i bet today this is so rare in playoffs or world series

Yep. What a douche that dude is.
It was awesome to see Barry Bonds and Bobby Bonilla lose!
Pirates would have went on to win the World Series that year.
They would have taken one game at the Metrodome for sure!!
They went 1-3 in the 4 home games in this series
