  • Teaching your dog LEAVE IT can be a lifesaver! If you are on a walk and there’s a dirty mask on the floor, or perhaps a raccoon decides to get curious on your evening stroll. Leave it is a command that basically is like telling your dog, “NO THATS RESTRICTED” and not only is this useful but it’s important for their safety.

The only problem is, I can't feed my dogs snacks or treats, she can only eat prescription food.

How do I do this with a deaf 2 year old dog who can’t hear cues please?

You could maybe try a vibration collar on the absolute lowest setting (so it's not a punishment, it's a message) and train that as the "leave it" (or simply "give me your focus") command? (disclaimer: I'm not a trainer so may be giving bad advice)
