I suspect somebody got a companion thinking they were good for the dogs lifetime - but a fall or illness or grief came crashing in and a well loved companion was very much needed but the person could no longer do the care. He’s been loved & socialized at the least. I love big dogs, could use one that is strong enough to help me stand but I only have a mini doxie and a chihuahua because I can care for them -so far. @mariahgrimes207 they definitely can. Take the attitude of "Fake it till you make it" and learn to be brave together. There are lots of really good tutorials for nail trimming. Or you can even teach him to accept a nail file or a dremel if clippers make you nervous. If you decide to use clippers, make sure they're the scissor type and not the guillotine type. Guillotine nail clippers can crush the nail to cut it instead of cutting right through cleanly so it could actually be hurting his quicks even if you don't accidentally cut the quick. His Groom turned out good. I understand that these grooms aren't always going to be perfect, but the most important thing is your helping these fur babies.🐾🐾🐾

Bless his fluffy heart! This boy sat so well for something he clearly has not had done often! I'd adopt him today if I could. Someone is going to be lucky with this dude!

Poor Mr. S... watching you shave him was like watching a sheep shearing! The tail wag in the shower though is precious. He's so well behaved, all things considered!

Right Choice Shearing and you could do a collab! Great job, and he's grateful, he just doesn't know how to tell you. I can, thanks a bunch Vanessa!!

Poor baby. What a sweetheart. The fact that he was overfed likely means he was loved but in the wrong way by someone unable to care for him properly. Hope he finds a great home soon. ❤

We can see when he gets onboard with the groom. It's in the shower, just like you said, and when you're washing his face, he's like, "This is pretty nice!"
I don't care why he got the way he did. Someone surrendered him to help him, and I hope he gets the forever home he deserves. Some family is going to luck out with this boi!

Very much agreed. Life conditions can change on a dime, like health, but he was obviously loved.

I really appreciate how you explain things during the cuts because it’s fun to watch but I love learning too!
