My breast augmentation surgery process begins with clear communication with the patient. I prioritize listening to understand their desires, concerns, and goals. By combining their aspirations with my professional assessment of their suitability, we develop a consensus plan.
Approximately two weeks before surgery, we have a pre-op visit. During this visit, I provide the opportunity for the patient to hold implants of similar size and shape to what they're considering. We confirm the incision location, as well as the type and style of implants.
On the day of surgery, we review the plan once more before proceeding. I mark the patient's body accordingly, ensuring precision. In the operating room, the anesthesiologist gently and comfortably administers anesthesia, gradually putting the patient to sleep.
The surgery itself typically lasts less than an hour. I make small incisions underneath each breast, creating pockets that snugly accommodate the implants, preventing unwanted movement. We then insert the permanent implants.
