Hi Betsy, enjoyed your video, thanks. Why your Hoya Gunung Gading has two kind of leaves. One kind is sure Gunung Gading but other one look like Sp Kalimantan IML1168. Please confirm it is only one plant. Thanks
@@betsybegonia thanks for clarifying. I got Hoyas say they are Gunung Gading but the leaves just like your leaves which I think it is Kalimantan. That means mines are really Gunung Gading. Thanks a lot.
@@tingon2001 Possibly. It's hard to say unless you see blooms. It's difficult to identify hoyas just by photos. I don't have the other one you've referred to so I can't verify how closely it resembles gunung gading. Love the Colorful collection of those Hoya heads on the top shelf, I don’t think they’ll grow but they are as lovely as your beautiful growing Hoyas on the lower shelves 😜. Love your energy and thanks for showing your plants.
I bought a stunning Hoya fungii thanks to this video and I am so happy! It arrived today and I am so glad I bought it! Wish I could share a picture of it’s beauty- one of the leaves is as big as my hand!

Hi Betsy! I loved the intro/sponsorship you did. You are so creative! You have some really pretty plants. I LOVE your staghorn ferns! I have 3 smallish ones now and am thinking that I will try mounting one of them. I'm going to go back and watch your video on that. Also, your video on propagating hoyas. I have one that was really big, but it is down to 2 vines, and they aren't looking very good. I'm not sure why it's dying. ;-( Thank you so much for sharing! BTW, love your dress!
OMG hoyaaasss Hoyas HOYASSSS Drooling over your collection cause in Greece you can’t find much other than the 6-7 basic ones… I assume the ones you got from the UK was prior to Brexit? Keep it coming!! XOXO from 🇬🇷
I've had hoyas not grow at all, I ended up putting them up size just a tiny bit, and then fed them, all year, they r under my grow lights, I wouldn't water until the leaves were extremely crinkled and bendy, after up potting it, and fertilizing it for a few months, it has exploded!! It's a Hoya obovata, typically slow grower, had it about 7 months before I did all this, it literally didn't grow a single bit for 7 months! After changing it's pot and fertilizing, I have gotten 6 new leaves, 4 new growth points, and it's exploding! Amazing speckles, they r pink dots from my lights :) so beautiful! But that's now what I do with every new Hoya that refuses to grow for me! Haven't had issues since! Maybe try that out :) and try not to water until the Hoya leaves are literally wrinkled! And u can bend the leaves without breaking them. I never water until I see that! And it looks as tho u have leaf spot disease on a few of ur hoyas :/ maybe treat them cause it will spread like crazy! Good luck! Love the collection!
I had a bit of an "adventure" obtaining a nummularioidies. I wanted one pretty bad for quite a while, so I got some cuttings. The first one died. It just wouldn't root in water, the leaves fell off, and it croaked. Then I had one lady offer me one for free once they were larger or rooted, but then she ended up opening a plant shop and no longer kept her promise. Then the third attempt a lady sent me two small cuttings as part of an order, and only one of the two cuttings rooted. I'm so happy I kept trying with this one, because that tiny little cutting with only 3 leaves has now tripled in size, has made a whole other vine, and just this week I noticed that I think it's growing its first peduncle. It's so easy to care for, and I adore the leaves, it just seems a bit hard to root.
The Swedish Hoya Society is a wonderful group. I've learned a lot from them via You Tube videos where members are guests. Everything I know about basic propagation, I learned from them. Maybe the most important thing they've shared is that not every hoya is right for every home. Don't get me wrong, I want every hoya, but a person has to be realistic. I don't have the set up for many of the humidity lovers or the fussy plants and I don't buy them. The prices are out of control in my part of the US and they're not widely available, especially in Winter. If I'm being perfectly honest, I prefer the so-called common plants. They like the same conditions my cacti like and they live together in harmony. On another note, I had a chonk of Monstera sp Peru and it took forever to get a leaf. I was tempted to have a party when one finally unfurled after almost 8 months. That only happened after I moved it in among the cacti, where the best light hits. I find it to be a sun hog and that's ok. It has three leaves now with another about to open and I stare at it all the time, without shame. Everyone loves to live with the cacti, which is good because they're the dominant plants here. I don't know why it works, but it does.
@@betsybegonia I'm leaving in a week to go to Paris and I saved the greenhouse you recommended to Roos. I am excited to go! Any other recommendations? Thank you. 🤩
