Me and my husband play D&D together. And he’s now DMing our latest campaign (and it’s CALL OF THE NETHERDEEP, so we are in the world of exandria!) My goal is to have a Matt/Marisha moment during the campaign, at least once lol
I DM for my wife and her family (parents and 3 younger siblings). It’s some of my favorite time we get to spend together as a family. But I often have to say something like, “Well, you birthed her. I just married her. I guess both of us were crazy.” 😂 Gotta laugh at the silly things!

The fact that they both felt so impressed at first sight, yet they held up to themselves, to their true selves, and then fell in love and got married... that is a good lesson. I tried god knows how many times to adapt and change for other people that I don't even know who I am anymore...

I truly believe there's a perfect person out there for everyone, and you just gotta meet em at the right time I fell for this girl but didn't think she was into me, left it alone dated other people, YEARS later came back into contact instant best friends. Turns out she felt the same but I had just been hurt by relationships, wasn't looking to date, slowly realised 'oh dam we're dating huh' fast forward a bit now we're married If you haven't met the right person yet you will. There's a perfect someone out there for everyone and the universe pulls you together
Daniel Sloss has a pretty great stand up routine around this concept. Compromising and communicating in certain scenarios of a relationship is one thing. When someone wants you to compromise who you are to be a version of you that they like best they aren't the one.
My favorite moment will always be him talking about how happy and satisfied he is now in life and that he could die right then and die a happy man and Marisha’s just “we JUST GOT MARRIED, NO?!”

When I think of Matt and Marisha's relationship, I think of a couple of awkward kids where Matt shows affection by drawing a picture saying she's pretty, or picking flowers which Marisha always blushes at, and Marisha showing affection by punching out the bully who picks on Matt for having long hair, saying she likes it.

I adore the amount of love at the CR table. From the romantic love between the married couples to the platonic amongst all of them, there's so much care and love in the Critical Role crew and it makes me so happy.
I would never have meet my husband if it wasn't for D&D. 36 years ago our DM told us that we are having a new player joining that night. The rest has been an ongoing adventure. We will be celebrating 34 years in May.
Matt and Marisha are the lightning fast quick and wholesome goals. Laura and Travis are the slow, over years and deep goals. Just goes to show that it can happen in any way, any time.

"I tempered it down and made it more casual for a while" - this is much more important than many people might think. I've seen (and personally been there) so much young people just blindly jumping into their passion without, like, truly getting to know the other person first, and then it comes to the other person as off - putting, or they make the wrong assumptions and then run into the traps of those assumptions
The part from 3:30 to 3:38 made me laugh so hard. Going from sweet, adorable compliments and "Dawwww" to both of them just becoming immediately ready to throw hands at someone in the background. That was perfect timing and little things like that really show how close their bond truly is. hahahaha.

Matt and Marisha are proof that you don't need to be *constantly* making an active choice to show how much you love someone. The ways they interact. The little things they say. THE WAY MATT TALKS ABOUT MARISHA WHEN SHE ISN'T EVEN THERE - I'm specifically thinking of him giving anecdotes of Marisha catching him practicing DM stuff in the "DMs of Exandria" show. They're so wonderful.
Everytime I see those two being cute my heart fills with so much love for humanity and couples. I think it is because those moments are both very rare (cause they are professionals and "on the clock" a lot on CR) and just so bloody pure and honest. I also love cutesy moments like those from Travis and Laura, but they are much more common. Matt mostly DMs and has that underlying anxiety feel (to me at last) and cannot always be as unfiltered as the others. So thank you so much for this. I will try to not overwatch it, but no promise
There’s no such thing as over watching! I made the damn thing and still watch it like every other day 😆 And yeah I agree! Travis and Laura are great and I’ll likely make one of them too but Matt and Marisha moments don’t happen on camera as much which makes it so special when it does happen

When Vax went into the bathroom while Percy was having a bath and Percy finally got rid of him, then Laura interrupted saying Vex comes up out of the water and says 'I thought he'd never leave!' Travis's reaction to that moment made me fall in love with them as a couple. His support and celebration of her role playing choice in that moment was so frikken awesome.

I love that you've intercut the talking with their moments. I love watching them during narrative telephone because they're obviously enjoying making fun of each other and their friends, but any time one of them starts laughing it sets the other one off and it's so cute
I gotta say as some one who just got out of a almost 6 year long relationship that after hearing what Matt said at 14:59 in the video really resonated with me. Genuinely never really thought about it but looking back I think we were both trying to make the pieces fit when they just didn't anymore.
There is that old saying "Behind every great man is a greater woman.." but I think this as well as the reverse is also true and we see it clearly defined by this particular couple. Support. Respect. Love. It's all there. We all should be so lucky to find this in our lives.
So what I get from this in their dynamic is that Marisha takes charge and leads the pack in situations and Matt makes space for her and his other loved ones. Least that’s the best way I can describe it and I don’t feel I’m saying it with proper justice but that’s the general impression I get from this compilation.

You'll find the right person I'm sure, and even if you can only find comfort amongst friends. As long as you're enjoying life, that is what matters most.
A model for us all. Neither has it together but it is a partnership. Even when Matt kills off a beloved character, Marisha doesn't take it as mean. Even when Marisha talks trash, Matt takes it in stride. They may not get what they want or deserve, but what great unity of life between them. I thank my good fortune to be around for CR and all the wonder they make (mostly by mistake).

I admit I get jealous sometimes when I see them together online. But then I get SO HAPPY that get to see love like theirs. As hard as they struggle, they won.
The thing I appreciate about Matt is he says he’s proud of her- but not because of his influence or by his presence. He proud of her because she is her and because he loves her- and he takes no credit except to just enjoy seeing the love of his life flourish. That’s just so damn sweet.
They're such goals. One of my favourite moments of theirs (which wasn't in this) is that time thye got a question that was something like "If you had a special power/move what'd it be" and Matt answered "My wife."
My parents of 27 years are going through a divorce right now, so it’s fair to say I’m a little cynical about relationships right now. But it’s also fair to say that we all have parasocial relationships with this cast at this point, and again and again they remind us that there is good in this world. I look at these two love birds and think about my brother and his girlfriend (who do play dnd together) and it makes me so happy.

I met my partner through D&D and I look at these two and realise, “wow, I’ve finally found something like this” and the fact that we connected through this game and we both love CR just makes me happy and gives me hope for the future. I was pining after her for 5 years not realising I was even in love before confessing and now we’re making plans to move in together. I love Matt’s little mannerism of leaning over on Marisha’s shoulder and kissing it or just booping his nose cause I do this to my partner as well. I find a lot of similarities in my relationship to Matt’s and Marisha’s and it gives me a lot of hope and love for the future that I will be as happy as they are someday.

THE WAY MATT TALKS ABOUT MARISHA WHEN SHE ISN'T EVEN THERE - I'm specifically thinking of him giving anecdotes of Marisha catching him practicing DM stuff in the "DMs of Exandria" show. They're so wonderful.
It's not even the holding hands and cuddling as much as it's the way they talk about eachother with such joy and love
Everytime I see those two being cute my heart fills with so much love for humanity and couples. I think it is because those moments are both very rare (cause they are professionals and "on the clock" a lot on CR) and just so bloody pure and honest. I also love cutesy moments like those from Travis and Laura, but they are much more common. Matt mostly DMs and has that underlying anxiety feel (to me at last) and cannot always be as unfiltered as the others. So thank you so much for this. I will try to not overwatch it, but no promise

And yeah I agree! Travis and Laura are great and I’ll likely make one of them too but Matt and Marisha moments don’t happen on camera as much which makes it so special when it does happen

When Vax went into the bathroom while Percy was having a bath and Percy finally got rid of him, then Laura interrupted saying Vex comes up out of the water and says 'I thought he'd never leave!'
Travis's reaction to that moment made me fall in love with them as a couple. His support and celebration of her role playing choice in that moment was so frikken awesome.

I get the feeling that they also found eachother and give eachother what they need, Marisha is bold, baller and fire! And Matt is diplomatic, calm and thoughtful. Its a perfect mix. Goals!
I love that you've intercut the talking with their moments. I love watching them during narrative telephone because they're obviously enjoying making fun of each other and their friends, but any time one of them starts laughing it sets the other one off and it's so cute
I gotta say as some one who just got out of a almost 6 year long relationship that after hearing what Matt said at 14:59 in the video really resonated with me. Genuinely never really thought about it but looking back I think we were both trying to make the pieces fit when they just didn't anymore.
There is that old saying "Behind every great man is a greater woman.." but I think this as well as the reverse is also true and we see it clearly defined by this particular couple. Support. Respect. Love. It's all there. We all should be so lucky to find this in our lives.
So what I get from this in their dynamic is that Marisha takes charge and leads the pack in situations and Matt makes space for her and his other loved ones. Least that’s the best way I can describe it and I don’t feel I’m saying it with proper justice but that’s the general impression I get from this compilation.

Honestly My favorite mental image is you know Marisha and Matt have to take separate vehicles or something to every session because Marisha would just be breathing down matt snack after a particular cliffhanger or because she is perceptive and picked up on something
I hope I can have a relationship like this one day. A husband to share my life with. Not the superficial hormone fueled relationships I've had in the past, just to feel wanted.
You'll find the right person I'm sure, and even if you can only find comfort amongst friends. As long as you're enjoying life, that is what matters most.

A model for us all. Neither has it together but it is a partnership. Even when Matt kills off a beloved character, Marisha doesn't take it as mean. Even when Marisha talks trash, Matt takes it in stride. They may not get what they want or deserve, but what great unity of life between them. I thank my good fortune to be around for CR and all the wonder they make (mostly by mistake).
even i fell in love with him and i'm straight, he loves what he does, has majestic hair, has an whole vocabulary remembered and finds always perfect words. And he's funny. Also His sound effects in DnD damn i'll need to watch all the campaigns

The thing I appreciate about Matt is he says he’s proud of her- but not because of his influence or by his presence. He proud of her because she is her and because he loves her- and he takes no credit except to just enjoy seeing the love of his life flourish. That’s just so damn sweet.

My parents of 27 years are going through a divorce right now, so it’s fair to say I’m a little cynical about relationships right now. But it’s also fair to say that we all have parasocial relationships with this cast at this point, and again and again they remind us that there is good in this world. I look at these two love birds and think about my brother and his girlfriend (who do play dnd together) and it makes me so happy.

I met my partner through D&D and I look at these two and realise, “wow, I’ve finally found something like this” and the fact that we connected through this game and we both love CR just makes me happy and gives me hope for the future. I was pining after her for 5 years not realising I was even in love before confessing and now we’re making plans to move in together. I love Matt’s little mannerism of leaning over on Marisha’s shoulder and kissing it or just booping his nose cause I do this to my partner as well. I find a lot of similarities in my relationship to Matt’s and Marisha’s and it gives me a lot of hope and love for the future that I will be as happy as they are someday.
