    That looks awesome !!
    For me, I would like it if the pocket was moved up to the chest area, so the top of the pocket was at the lowest line of the gusset...that way it would be compatible with waist belts. Also lacing to cinch the gusset opening closed like many of the "Boreal" type shirts.

    Love it, what I like about it is it doesn’t have a mil surp look. Not that surplus gear is a bad thing it’s just awesome to see people making gear like this outside if what the old school military gear was. With the pocket and nice hood it’s a well thought out design.

    I've seen this a few times, the only one on here. This time, it's on mute and I'm just watching your movements.
    Looks like it'll go up to a 40L backpack. I sleep with my jacket as a blanket regularly, and this is expensive, but proper. It's a waterrproof overjacket blanket. In the end, I reckon it's worth it for someone who's got money to spend, that moves from A to B.

    • @Woodswalker1965
      @Woodswalker1965  Před rokem

      A waterproof over jacket blanket is a good way to describe it, don’t forget it’s a tarp as well😁 Thanks for the support my friend!

    I've had a Titan Poncho for about 2.5 years now. The other day I went for a run in a heavy downpour rain and the cloth became very saturated with water over the 1 hour I was out. The Poncho did not seem to be repelling water like it did when it was new. I have a new tin of Martexin, I guess its time to do a big reapply project...

    I'm really interested in this I have owned and hunted northern PA late flintlock season with my BMA rough for three years it's been excellent. With a belt or something I feel like this poncho in the green or perhaps even a later all white version could make for a useful garment I've been known to use a surplus Swedish snow camo smock in this manner.

    • @Woodswalker1965
      @Woodswalker1965  Před 2 lety +1

    It'd be nice if it had grommet in the corners, but the stick trick was a good one. Do you know how much it weighs? There's no info about it on their site.

    Nice to see you again man!. Hope you've been well with everything going on. Cool piece of kit for sure - good review as usual. LOL ...initially I thought you'd said it was 9kg! LOL I nearly choked on my chocolate digestive cookie! I had to replay it and heard "1.9 kg" wheewww!
    Like a previous viewer, I wonder if I'd like the gusset to have the draw string like the anorak..
    Would you be concerned about sparks from a fire on that?
    Thanks Wade

    • @Woodswalker1965
      @Woodswalker1965  Před 2 lety +1

      I’m doing ok now thanks for asking!👍
      I don’t often close up the gusset on my other anoraks but it might be nice to have the option.
      The nice thing about this fabric is that it’s incredibly spark resistant, no worries!
      Take care👍

    Hi wade, I have a Loden BMA anorak and I hesitate to pair it with a Manic or this Poncho. I do realize that the Poncho is more versatile but I am wondering if it will protects me enough against the cold wind of the below 20C winter days. Thanks for your help.

    • @Woodswalker1965
      @Woodswalker1965  Před rokem +1

      For extreme cold the Manic would be the one to buy. I’ve had that combo down to -20C and was very comfortable. If you are active, snowshoeing or hiking you won’t have any issues with cold. Just my experience but yours may be different of course, Wade

    Superb poncho Wade. I'll be getting one as soon as they're available. ... Your links to Boreal Mtn go to their homepage, but when I click on Canvas Anoraks or Gallery, I get a padlock symbol and 403 Forbidden. There is no poncho listed yet. ... I'll watch their website every week or so for when that waxed sailcloth poncho goes up for sale. That's a great piece of kit. Thanks Wade. ... EDIT: I tried looking at their website from the contact page I created for Boreal Mtn on this phone. ... Nada ... Can't even get to their Home Page. Just 403 Verbotten.

You should be able to view the Titan poncho by clicking on the "Shop Now" button from the home page, then scroll down a bit and the poncho should appear under "Featured Products". Nice product review. Boreal Mountain makes quality products. I own their wool anorak. I my opinion it is priced way to high. The Swagman poncho is high and it is half the the price. Do the buttons line up so you could also attach a military Woobie to it?

    Nice review. Suggest you check out Wilderness Innovation's CZcams channel, a marketing vehicle for their products. His poncho has all the features plus it's also a hammock. Just add a suspension kit they also make. I have one and love it.

      @Woodswalker1965  Před 2 lety

      I can’t speak to the quality of Wilderness Innovations poncho but this Martexin coated sailcloth that BMA uses is superior to any other waxed product I’ve used personally. It’s a key feature actually. The water just sheets off it.

    Hey Wade! Does this pair well with wool anorak? I’m torn between pairing the poncho with a wool anorak or biting the bullet and getting the canvas anorak and the wool anorak.

    • @Woodswalker1965
      @Woodswalker1965  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Good question, you could of course use this with the wool anorak but a cotton anorak 2sizes bigger than your wool rak is the perfect combo imo.
      The poncho is very roomy though, it would be great. The bonus is you have a emergency tarp and a groundsheet with the poncho.👍
