This song is just one of Rock and Roll’s greatest instrumentals.. so let’s just all give applause to Mr. Richard Betts for his wonderful contribution to American Music….this song will still be playing for a couple centuries by enlightened musicians… My goodness.. it’s already Over 50 years old and it sounds so nice… personally, I can’t ever get my fill of hearing it. It’s just that good… I love hearing the different interpretations of this great classic.. to Joe and his band.. both of my ears thank you…..
Good version? This is a great version, stunned how great this cover of "In Memory of Elizebeth Reed is by Joe Ruso and Company - this is tough song to play, this band just nails this song. Rolling Stone, I was reading other day, only listed this song as honorable mention in thier top 100 guitar solo rankings. I fell off my chair when I read that, this song is a masterpiece! Joe Russo's band is honoring that by covering it, this is one of the best jam songs ever.
Thirteen years old when ABB and GD ,pot and acid entered in to my world .72 was a good year .now 51 years later I still get the hair raise from a good version of ER .JRAD keeping the flame burning and the hair raising
You nailed it brother..This may be the greatest version I've ever heard and at 64 ive heard & played it thousands of times..Its the go to jam song , ya know? ..They burned the place down to the ground here..🍄
I saw the original Allman Brothers in 1972 at the Schaefer Music Festival in New York's Central Park. Anybody from the NY and NJ area who was young at that time would remember those concerts.
The beginning of this song gives me chills every time I hear it!! Masterpiece!! I always say this stuff will be talked about like the great composers everyone heard about today!!
Very nice job! I'm old enough to have bought the first ABB album and still a huge fan. I know all these classics by heart and trust me, this band nailed it!!
I have the foggiest as to why or how this incredible video would immediately follow up a LZ Nobody’s Fault But Mine bass cover video, but that’s how it happened .. and I watched the whole thing! How could I ever not enjoy this - after hearing the live Fillmore E. version SO many times? Excellent job, gentlemen… loved every second of this, for multiple reasons. First and foremost: the opening rim shots. Drummer displays impeccable timing. I can’t help but notice it, I’m a bass player. Love the bandana muffling too.
Excellent, inspiring musicianship all around. So cool how the audience is all moving to this great music so beautifully played. I’m blessed to have stumbled upon this today!
Find the 'Further' stuff where he played with John K, Weir, Lesch, Jeff on keys. He's perpetual motion, much better than the 2 Dead & Co gents together
This is hot. Saw the mighty Allmans many times. From 1989 till early 2000s. Always excellent. This is an exceptional continuation of something beautiful & truly rocking.
For me, JRAD has been the most consistently exciting GD interpretation for the last 5 or so years. Adding in ABB and other covers has really upped their game. Hamilton is just on fire. Tremendous talent on this stage. Love the vintage Super Reverb guitar amps too.
What the ABB had that sets them apart still to this day was their ability to articulate those phrases in perfect unison, something that only comes from playing together for many hours/days/years. A difficult thing to recreate all the nuances of another's genius. Still it's a beautiful song, and a great jam.
WOW!!!!!!🍑YEA. I love this band.. They find a pocket & hang on till the end...Bass player is a machine..Looks like an old EB-O & got an abys for bottom.🍑
My father is law is really "Joe Russo." No yet dead, at all. Funny name and very tight live gig. Wish I could go see them, and bring the real J.R. with me. I bet in person this was sonic bliss. In Memory of Joe Russo... by Elizabeth Reed Band (ERB).
I love to see Dave still doing what he loves to do...playing bass in some great bands. If you know him it doesn't take much thought to know why he's welcome by all.
JRAD is the best cover band in the land right now!! Been tearing apart GD songs for years, now some ABB, Pink Floyd and Dire Straits are thrown in there! They are so so damn good.
Hey... when you go down to watch the Detroit Symphony.. they play Bach, Beethoven, Mozart.... When you go down to watch JRAD they play GD, AB, PF and DS
They're all amazing musicians with their own projects.. Bassist is in Ween. They come together to tour as the best band playing Grateful Dead tunes in existence. They sometimes throw in tunes from other bands as well.
I hadnt been able to get into JRAD despite some listening but needed a fix of something. Dead Co stopped doing it for me so i thought, lets try JRAD again. I'm in. Most notable it that joe sounds like Trucks and Jaimo together. ABB need more love. This blows away the allman family band
I'm new to these guys...enlighten me...ok...no offense to anyone but 2 drummers sound better...hats off to doing a damn good rendition of the Allman Brothers Band ...I'm kinda biased to Warren and Derek..got to see them live. But this is badd ass. Love it.

Hear hear!! ✌🏽🌻
The bass playing on this cover is unbelievable.

Rolling stone has always hated the ABB - fact

I was 14....wore out that album!!!
Same age!
We'll never die enjoyin' what is and tickeld our soul of being.....
I'm a space cowboy and YES I can understand ?
That first guitar solo. So tasteful, building and powerful.
I saw the original Allman Brothers in 1972 at the Schaefer Music Festival in New York's Central Park. Anybody from the NY and NJ area who was young at that time would remember those concerts.
Damn I miss the Brothers so much.
The beginning of this song gives me chills every time I hear it!!
Masterpiece!!
I always say this stuff will be talked about like the great composers everyone heard about today!!
What an amazing band! A truly breathtaking rendition of the song.
If this doesn't just give you chills then we can't help you. Doing a classic song justice....jam on my brothers!
Wonderful!
Very nice job! I'm old enough to have bought the first ABB album and still a huge fan. I know all these classics by heart and trust me, this band nailed it!!
These boys rock......nice cover of a classic
The drummer is a phenomenon.
The drummer and the bass guitarist got the grease hot, man - let’s the whole band really cook.
Early seventies, Duane had died. The band played on, Paramount Northwest Seattle, WA. Great show!

Only the most beautiful song ever written.
The ABB Fillmore version their best. imo
These guys do a respectful job with it.
Excellent, inspiring musicianship all around. So cool how the audience is all moving to this great music so beautifully played. I’m blessed to have stumbled upon this today!
I just stumbled on this today, this is my all time favorite song by abb . These guys are pretty damn good
Never heard of Joe till right now. Plays like he's 2 separate drummers in 1 guy - Very talented drummer!🥁
Find the 'Further' stuff where he played with John K, Weir, Lesch, Jeff on keys. He's perpetual motion, much better than the 2 Dead & Co gents together
@@dubyuellem7534 I will. So sad to see the old "gents" play the past few years. Nothing like my early 80's heyday.
lol ok
@@hymedude7378 So glad..LMHO - OK?
@@lornestein7248 yea, where you been the moon?....lol
Bravo to you all. Great rendition of this classic ABB song written by the great Dickey Betts.
Dickey!!
Wonderful to see this genius piece of music performed newly.
This is hot. Saw the mighty Allmans many times. From 1989 till early 2000s. Always excellent. This is an exceptional continuation of something beautiful & truly rocking.
this man is really channelling butch and jaimoe at the same time. crazy good drumming.
wow that was impressive!
Nice take on this ABB classic instrumental. The crowd seems to right into it too!!!
From Idlewild South to Fillmore East, if you don't know it you won't be ready for it.
I always forget that these guys are easily my favorite GD band these days. Thanks Joe and JRad
Is that an EB-O bass? He's crushing it!
Closed my eyes and went back to the Filmore East. You guys are awesome
Absolutely nailed this. Unbelievable jam and cover.
Wow!!! I had No IDEA Y'ALL RIP SO.HARD!!!!
awesome from all perspectives !
EXCELLENT!!!!!!

Having a good sense of rythm helps the unison.🤓
Great band...Thank you for sharing this beautiful music.
Berry Oakley set free 50 yrs to the day
I like the way it sounds with a strat
Auman Brothers are still with us.
Fantastic!
Jrad always delivers...
WOW.....Never heard of JRAD until this post.....Amazingly Cool and on point with every single note
Makes think I am back at my college frat house, lets just leave at that
Go see them any chance you get.
Can't wait to see them at the Fillmore in NOLA during jazzfest! Only 3 months!
Thank you JRAD!
✌💀
One word: WOW!
superb musicians.
Kudos to you and the production staff at the venue for solid video and audio! Love it!!

Great show! This was the highlight for me too. Thanks.for the upload
This is excellent.
Thanks for sharing
Gotta love that crowd...they are definitely diggin' it.
Allman bros. just brutal sound
I love to see Dave still doing what he loves to do...playing bass in some great bands. If you know him it doesn't take much thought to know why he's welcome by all.
He's been blessed by the Boognish 🤘🏼🐃
JRAD is the best cover band in the land right now!! Been tearing apart GD songs for years, now some ABB, Pink Floyd and Dire Straits are thrown in there! They are so so damn good.
I agree 110%!
✌👽👍🧠🌌♾
Hey... when you go down to watch the Detroit Symphony.. they play Bach, Beethoven, Mozart.... When you go down to watch JRAD they play GD, AB, PF and DS
yup I jammed way harder at the JRAD concert last week than D&C last year - - band just got into grooves so easily it was mind blowing
Back in '24 and IT SOUNDS JUST AS GREAT!!! lol
Offer me the choice of ten hours at a Dead Co concert or two minutes with JRAD, and I'll choose the latter every single time.
I'd rather JRAD at Red Rocks than D&C at the Sphere. Just my opinion
I can't believe that I Missed this in PA. Are You coming back to PA? New Here sorry.
Oh hell yes! Strap in and enjoy the ride!!!
Awsome cover
NICE!!!
Fresh take on a real crowd pleaser
Subbed.
Good Memories !
I've not been a fan of JRAD, yet this performance works for me.
It's difficult to not love them. Unless of course you worship Dead & Co. or long for the early 70s GD that will just never, ever be.
Thanks.x
Ahhh when the Hammond comes in...
Nice rendition of an all time great song.
Nice Job on this !
Genialer Schlagzeuger
Director of the camera crew didn't have a clue.
Don't you hate when that happens.😖 Especially when they miss the bass player completely.
OUTSTANDING! I'm not a huge Allmans fan, but this song is one of my all-time fave killers. Best version? From the live acoustic 2nd Set album IMHO
That was great!
Jam band Extrodinaire......
JRAD!!!! Loved Joe since Furthur.
Also that dude filming whole time in front row suuuuuucks. Be present!!! ❤✌️
Forrest. Richard. Betts. WOW!!
Dickey Betts wrote the Allman Bros. best songs. Does he have to Die to get the credit that he deserves?
1) who are these guys, and (2) wow.
New fan ... gotta find some more. Thanks
You are SOFA King right. 👉
Enjoyable.

Nice cover but not quite Allman Brother
@@marcosmontalvo9589 For sure!
👍
Trucks is damn near lifeless. Plays with zero emotion...he's made a lot of $$ with his appearance.
Yeah JRAD >>>>>> Dead & Slo
Faboulous cover of my prefer ABB's piece...👍👍
EXCELLENT. And a fine job of getting something on You Tube instantly. Finally,. YT has something to offer besides kitten videos!
I need to see this band. Just discovered this today. When will they be in LA god dammit!
They've been touring all year
Absolutely filthy!! The Brothers would have loved it!!!
My favorite music lives on! Great cover, i'm a new fan of JRAD. Here's how the Brothers did it back in 1970 : czcams.com/video/hd66VD1zm9M/video.html
I'm thinking both Duane and Greg are both grooving really hard right now
yes
I was watching the Old hippie down in front ? I probably know him !! 😎😎
goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood music
Awesome band 9:41
Does this band write any of their own music?
Wondering what to listen to if so.
I don't know much about them but everything I see is covers
TRIPPEMEN MAN ! 😂
I'm new to these guys...enlighten me...ok...no offense to anyone but 2 drummers sound better...hats off to doing a damn good rendition of the Allman Brothers Band ...I'm kinda biased to Warren and Derek..got to see them live. But this is badd ass. Love it.
Congas would help to smooth it out a little.
Which one is JR?
Joe playing an old Ludwig drum kit.
Joe only let em pick this tune for the drum solo ;)
Talented musicians, tempo is too slow for me. It seemed like it took too long for the song to pick up.
I have a hard time listening to this on a bunch of fenders thru pedals, unlike the Allam Bros
