love how Phil features strong female lead vocals on Dead tunes. Gives them a whole new flavor
The dead did this too with Donna
Donna Jean has entered the chat
Always liked that, saw mickey heart band one time with the same kinda deal was spectacular
@@AndrewFoust1976 She never sang that.
@@kristopherkerry7524 she mostly sang backup though. She had a couple songs but they weren’t played often
Some how we need to get Rick and Billy Strings together playing Dead tunes... Hmmm
I’m here for it 1000%
Have you heard Billy & the Kids? Kreurtzman does something similar to Phil, but has a pretty solid core of Reid from Strangefolk, Aron Magnet Disco Bis. & Tom H from Jrad, Brothers Past and more. I think that core 4 is awesome. (much rather see them then Dead and Co $$ grab. I went to see them in 2021 and group also had James Casey on Sax, Billy Strings and, a local musician and Jason from SCI made appearances.
I've done a lot of post GD shows. Ive done 4 further tours. The Dead in 09. Probably 75-85 Phil shows. Two full Rat Dog tour's, and then like 4 tours when they were changing names of banf every year. Phil and Bob both in line-up and both stubborn so ea H wouldn't let their guy not play in band. Anyways saying all this, those B&K Red Rock's shows were some my fav "Grateful Dead" related shows ever. My favorite I attended was 99 Phil and Shoreline but Billy & Kids come in hot. Billy Strings & Tom H just glued. They sounded so POLISHED. What a trip to RR for Bills 74th B Day Bash
@@heals2004 my gosh, you sure have seen an awful lot of shows. You win! ✌️😍✌️
I imagine this is exactly what will happen to Dead and Co when the original Dead members pass away.
Hear, hear!
Phil Lesh and Friends NEVER DISAPPOINT!!!
Rick killed it all weekend. Every night he was shining brighter than the night before. I hope this is the first of many sit ins with Phil & friends!
Goooooooooooooooooose
Rick slays cold rain and snow....so much energy
He totally crushed it! I was right there in the front row! Killer night at the Cap!
Listening to this & watching make's you realize that Garcia's Spirit will never be gone, seem's like he's still playing that guitar !
Phil can simultaneously hold down the rhythm and bring in beautiful melodic rings.
NAILED the transition!!!!
Phil must feel like a youngster playing with these talented young people! Good for him!
Damn, I was only gonna watch a couple minutes of this just to get a taste. Watched/listened to the whole thing. Something about this music just sucks you in.
Ricky absolutely crushing Cold Rain and Snow. The band was very locked in.
🐿🏵🏵🐉🦋
This is my first time watching Phil Lesh & Friends and holy fuck this dude is a prodigy!
@@nathangray4601 Why does every new player into the Dead community have to get such hype around him/her? They always have good players, and no, they're not a "prodigy". This kid is good, but he sounds like everyone else who plays the Jerry leads. Nothing new or different. Well done and how it should be approached. The god worship with some of these musicians is weird.
@@afmartin2734 nope, Rick is a prodigy. He's only getting started. Just check out some of his latest run with Goose. There's a reason Trey from Phish is playing with him...
@@jamesstoffer9702 Prodigy does not mean a good player.........rick is not a prodigy........Jimi was, Eddie was, SRV was, Clapton was...............rick is not even remotely close to any of them.
Hot damn! This is the music I love! Long live Phil!
Phil's band is killing it...Hey Now!!!
Randomly clicked on this, was pleasantly surprised. Also Phil and Friends this las June was dope!
Phil and Friends RULE!
This is what happens when pros, joy and great vibe converge to make beauty happen!
Love this Phil still going strong 💪
Rick is bringing this indescribable energy back to the scene. Absolutely amazing player.
Rick's good but he isn't "bringing this indescribable energy back to the scene" he's just expanding on the basic core elements.
I was just getting ready to clean the garage. Got my mind right and then this came on. I just forgot about the garage.
I forget when that happens
Everyone taling about Rick but Natalie is the clear star here
God bless you and the friends of The Grateful Dead--My favorite band!
omg, rewind, replay, repeat. love this enough to listen to it many times to
day
This is epic. Some of the best dead music I've heard lately. Many thanks!
I’ll second that emotion!
Wow 16:10-18:09 is an absolute masterclass of building energy through melodic storytelling. Just incredible. Each plateau hits the next peak and climbs. Amazing.
If only rick could apply that to goose shows, might be worth seeing them for more than a taste then
I had no idea Natalie had such a great voice!
Chainsaw! Just ran across this. Knew she sang backing vocals with Trey’s band, but didn’t know she could belt one out like this. Good stuff.
Only Phil has that massive aura of genuine goodness such as to pull this group together and make magic. God bless you Phil.
Thank you for putting this up Relix. It is 🔥
NFA
Phil is the heart fosho
I like the nfa 🏡
people always takin' bout homeless ness
''No fix Address''. is what it is...
they always trying to make it worse.

He does seem to have the touch. His band for the Fantasy studio session was incredible as well.
That's some magic right here! Workin" It. DAMN...
Damn fine. That Cold Rain solo was awesome.
A great rendition of these songs. I love them both. Hit the bus in 1971 . … I happen to be wearing my Other Ones shirt !
I was there and rain and snow was the highlight of the show
Thx for sharing the music today From Patti Cornell
Amazing! Rick and the TAB Horns are a great addition. Love this lineup!!!
I was at the Friday and Sunday shows and this was one of the best line ups I've ever seen... great performances...
Well done, Phil & friends, Well Done!!! This was a great rendition, thanks for sharing
Phil still dropping them bombbbbsssssssss. Phil sides the right side 🍄😎
Man, this just feels like they found what they were looking for.
RIP James❤❤
I'm a Medeski fan!
Natalie's voice is angelic
Rick is da bomb
Flowing like clean springwater
It's really beautiful and amazing to see this band capturing something incredibly similar to the awesome laid back yet intense burning jams of the original Dead; a real sincere vibe that is a lot like the sincerity that was a key to the magic of the original Dead, and the way these musicians respond to each other is of course, another big key to the singular energy of a Dead jam: soul food!
Making the cold rain and snow feel oh so warm here !!! Nicely done
The music I love stretched and pulled in many different directions. This is great stuff.
tricky rick with that insane cold rain solo!
Goose!!!
This is the best Cold Rain and Snow I have ever heard!
you need to listen to more versions amigo
What a bomb of creativity 🎉
The energy on CRS was absolutely incredible. Grateful to witness 🙏🏻
Thanks for sharing the music today. Always appreciate it
Loving this. Beautiful harmonies and thanks for letting Natalie and Rick shine vocally on these songs.

The singer in the yellow dress was amazing and no one is talking about it
Her range is shocking and smooooth
Natalie “Chainsaw” Cressman!
Phil is a national treasure. 🔥🇺🇸
Heisenberg just slaying those drums
And Hank on keyboard. Phil broke bad. 🎸
Hahahaha
Hey there! The guy slaying those drums is the great John Molo.

Goose is just skyrocketing onto the scene, thanks to Rick and his jams that just take you awaaaaaaay! Gotta get back to the Bay Area early 2023… and summer !!
This is beyond awesome. Thank you for having this. 1 million percent better than Dead and Company.
Why is Phil not playing in the same band as Bobby now?
Great guitar player.🎸
Yes, yes, yes 🎉 Great, real energy, when are you guys coming to the U.K.? You’ve got the vibe, sound and timing just perfect, great performance 🎭
Turned such CR&S into absolute 💥💣 well done!!
Oct 16 2022 what a show❤😅
It’s crazy how supercharged this band gets w Rick’s guitar and Natalie & the TAB hornsingers ❤
That said, if i had a nickel for every time GL steps on someone else’s solo, i could have afforded to fly out to these shows… 😅 Ser, though, it’s maddening.
Maddening is definitely the word... Let the freaking music breathe man
Thank you for the video! Sounds real nice!! ✨🌞✨
Beautiful Thanks for sharing : )
Wowza that was hot fire...im so excited for this weekend with the man the myth marcus king!! Can't wait to see what he brings to the table in a dead setting
Friggin Amazing all around!!
What a treat 😁
I am loving this.
Wonderful
Fantastic!!!!
love it
This is pretty excellent :)
Rick playing Dead fits & seems so natural , love it
n00b alert
Wow! The Dead never played Cold Rain and Snow like that! Excellent guitar!
easy, easy
12.26.79 CR&S and all it's crunchy goodness. Dicks Picks Vol 5.
You weren't there! How would you have a clue?😘
You were b. after Jer passed! 😳
Not true for me, folks. Saw many shows, 1973 to the '90s!
I wish graham would lay back more when other players are soloing. He steps on feet quite a bit. I know it’s common in Phil and friends to have the 2 guitar solos but atleast with Haynes and herring they played complimentary the entire time and would take turns.
Yes, this has been ongoing for a while.
thanks Rick and the rest of the gang for opening the door to the astral plane...
