Foxes are such an underrated species. They really don't deserve the bad reputation they have in some places.

@@fellow7091 what??? there's literally no idyllic narrative in this video. if you knew anything about animals you'd know all babies surviving is rare, she probably couldn't provide enough food for all of them. the narrator glossed over it because its completely normal and how nature works. sorry
@@freyathewolf Thank you for sharing scientific expertise and knowledge for us dumbs. You also know better what impression we dumbs should get from videos.

Our neighborhood Fox just recently had 6 cubs in her den in our back yard. I have been enjoying watching them all playing outside now that it is getting warmer here. First time I have her with this many cubs. It will be interesting to see how long they remain
How long did they remain
@@LifePhath The first month they stick very closely to the mother and the den opening then they stay for at least 2 months months. You can really see the transition as they become independent and then move on. We will be watching to see if the same mother returns this year as I have read that the same den tends to be reused.

@@thomasolson4150 Bad call. Always observe from a distance.
Most of the wild life documentaries mainly focus on elephants and big cats. There are not many videos about fox and their habitats. This is an amazing rare video

Only 2 left out of 5?! That took a quick dark turn! I wouldn’t have expected that
2 out of 5 making it is pretty good/normal
@@Ryan-qv9ed I would have expected that foxes wouldn’t have had many predators so I thought more would have survived
I mean, as they said, there's usually a father helping out. there was only the mother, so the other cubs probably starved or the cold killed them

Beautiful work though I must add a small correction - red foxes are crepuscular, not nocturnal. Many people get this fact wrong. They are most active during dawn and dusk, rather than during the actual night. Here in England its not uncommon to see them roaming urban streets just as it starts to get dark/light.
1:21 so cute she curls around them to keep them warm
Fluffiness overload 🥰
This is amazing. What a great honor it is to see these little guys grow up and in such striking quality, wow. Thank you so much!

It's so great to hear that you're in love with our docs, thanks!
This is what they should show children in their primary schools instead of so many play times during school hours, and not just about foxes, maybe then we will have nicer adults in the future, and they will treat animals with a little more respect.because for this day and age we shouldn’t be doing the horrific things that are beeying done to so many animals,as if it’s not bad enough that bit by bit we taking their land,we will have no birds as they too will have no trees, children need to know so they can make the difference that we so need.
Absolutely!

Awwww cute foxes! 🦊 one of my favourate animals and its always lovely to see young cubs. Recently in a garden where i work we've seen a young family of foxes playing. Awesome video.
I have seen these in captivity, they make the cutest sounds, reminds me of otters and their sounds. Car hop trays from amazon.
I love foxes
What mean people gave thumbs down to this great video showing beautiful foxes & their journey from being born to the following year?
So much of this footage looks like a mythical forest, amazing what nature looks like undisturbed...
the alps are actually densely populated and used for agriculture.
Foxes will make dens under porches and in unused sheds. I live in a highly populated suburban area and there is a fox den under my condo window. The babies crying for mom at night while she is out hunting sounds like someone is trying to murder a chihuahua that is singing opera

I like how they sugarcoat over the fact that the mother cannibalized her dead young to feed the alpha pups that survived.
Or that there simply wasnt enough food to feed all the cubs
But Nature good; humans bad! Jk Lol
If the kits are going to die, might as well give their mother some energy back. Anyone who thinks that's cruel or sad doesn't understand how uncaring nature really is.
Humans are some of the most compassionate - and also naive - creatures on the planet.
@@kas7423 and thus they cannibalised it
Милые зверушки.

I love my city foxes - every couple of days I leave a bag of food ( mixture of leftovers, chopped up sausages, and dog food ) in my apartment complex ‘s bushy gardens for them ( the fox can slip in through the fence grating) . The neighbourhood fox takes the( compostable) “ doggie bag” of food away to its den , to enjoy at leisure ….

Foxes are my favorite animals
Great choice!
We love them too!
I Love Foxes, I have a Foxy Mama and 2 to 3 Foxy Babies that live in my back woods, this is Foxy Mama's 3rd summer in my back woods, she's so very gentle, only thing is at night they scream so loud and it literally sounds like an old woman yelling. I help Foxy Mama and the babies out by throwing apple's to them along with leftovers. If you have neighbors I wouldn't recommend feeding them because people are very cruel and would try to kill them for "being a nuisance" but luckily I don't have a neighbor for over a mile. They are beautiful creatures, I sit on my deck just watching them, my Dog even enjoys smelling them and watching them as well.

HIIIII I read your comment reply about putting the camera in the den!! How do you avoid stressing the fox family with the smell of humans in the den? I know that wolves are very sensitive when it comes to the safety of their den and can even have miscarriages because of one little thing wrong! I’m not sure if the information is correct but I would love to know how! :)

🧡🦊 foxes seem important🤍
a lot of them doing their best during winter
Yep!
And still now also I often get confused between foxes and wolf?.😂
By the way great info as always thank you🥰
Wolf is much larger than fox. It can reach around 100 pounds while fox rarely exceeds weight of 20 pounds. Wolf has large, muscular body, broad snout and smaller, less pointed ears compared to a fox. Unlike the wolf, fox has pointed snout, upright, triangular ears and long whiskers.

Nature is brutal. Infant fatality rate is usually extremely higher among animals. More so than it is even among humans in the worst conditions throughout history (save plagues).

There could be many reasons. Maybe some did not get enough milk, or died since they can't regulate their temperatures. One of my dogs accidentally killed her pups by rolling over them asleep, maybe the same happened here?
