    i heard belt slip witch is common problem on many gy6 do to small diameter variator and clutch assembly.Stiffer tork spring in clutch assembly and balance that out with heavyer roller to create more pressure on the belt sides for better grip.Also go up from 18mm wide belt to 18.1mm same legnth and angle on sides, give a longer life before it slips again with stock weak tork spring

    In gearless scooters, should we apply little bit of grease on round shaped rollers and roller-grooves in variator for smooth spinning of rollers in variator?
    Or will it make more issues after some time like dust deposit, sides of rollers get flat faster, vibrations will increase etc ?
    Please tell what should we do with proper reason.

    • @WaldensWorld

    • @sandrochomaxidze2600
      @sandrochomaxidze2600 Před 4 lety +1

      I'm not super informed and experienced in this subject, but from what I've read and seen, you'll just stay in the lowest gear all the time. At higher RPMs these rollers start to go further from the center and because roller casings are angled, it makes variator sheaves (plates) move to each other, further and further away from the starting point. If you take out rollers, there won't be anything to force sheaves to move inward, because variator sheaves seat rectangularly to the main shaft (I guess it's called boss, idk) and centrifugal forces won't cause them to move parallelly to the shaft. Good luck :)

      Do you have a chain n gear system at rear ! Smaller front sprocket bigger back !
      If it's belt drive a smaller rear tire would give more torque !
      You the belt drive can be modified but without . Actually gearing it down that will only help a little ! Lighter variator wights will keep belt in lower gear ! Thicker rear clutch springs make it ingage at higher rpm 2000# 1500# ect giving more power take off !; Hope this helps !!

    Cutting the weight by HALF is never going to be the right answer. You need to FINE TUNE by trying weights just a little bit lighter. Small adjustments are the key. Often need to mix 2 different weight rollers in alternating pattern to keep rpm in power band the longest without compromising top speed too much. Baby steps

    • @WaldensWorld

      In the video I definitely said lighter weights would be first and this was an experiment it cost nothing to do it , it definitely worked and as far as three support aka rollers my Polaris 500cc quad also only uses 3 pushers in the variatior! What about my 50cc kymco 2t scooter? It's got good take off speed and short climbing and 50mph top speed. But when climbing a long hill it gradually drops to 20 or even 15mph. It feels to me it's got the power to do an extra 10 mph in the long hill climbing but.... how?? Cheers for any help.

    • @WaldensWorld
      @WaldensWorld  Před 3 lety +1

      You can try a bit lighter rollers in the variatior ! Kymco is a good scooter ! Now I don’t know what hill grade your climbing ! You may loose top speed with better hill climbing !

    • @user-ui2js6zx2t
      @user-ui2js6zx2t Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks. The hills I'm referring to are like 15 to 30°. Since no way to downshift I think the scooter would benefit from being able to keep RPMs higher. I'll first try a bit lighter rollers that you said and what about a bit stiffer (+1000 rpm) contra spring?

      If it’s 50cc it only goes in the 30s but you can put a heavy spring in back clutch so rpm is higher before it starts to grab it will give it more torque

      Not sure what your trying to say but I’m just modifying the roller to have more torque there is nothing wrong with the scooter! This is a free way to do it ! You can buy lighter rollers and have 6 to achieve same results you can buy stiffer clutches springs to take off at higher rpm to also help with torque! Thanks for watching!
