I fucking love the body on thoes magnums. I need one for myself. They can be so much cooler than the step though frames.

Looking forward to following along! I'm picking up a pretty rough MK this week to 'deepen my moped knowledge' through experience

@@Corn-ped I'm gonna go for it! I've held off doing it on my Newport cause its super reliable as is. This MK is gonna be where I cut my teeth in the cylinder game haha

Mine is nearly impossible to restore, so I have to have a small engine shop fix the engine

Hello and thanks much for taking time and effort to put together such great series. I purchased Puch Magnum XK from an estate sale. It seems to be in a very good decades-unused condition. Since I am not tech-savvy, can you please point me in the right direction as to the basic maintenance steps I should perform to get moped running? E.g. which parts need to be oiled, cleaned/checked prior to filling up tank and trying to start it. Many thanks in advance. - Ed.

needs gas, spark, and compression. I would check for spark and compression and if those are good I would clean the carb, add some gas, and start pedaling!

@@Corn-ped Makes sense, thank you. How about oil? Which parts need it? The moped does not look rusty at all. It looks rather decent, but not used for probably few decades...

yeah I would flush the tranny fluid with new type f atf. I would oil the cables and chains. If you are feeling adventurous you could repack the wheel bearing as well.
