"Inflation may have slowed last year, but it continued to deal heavy blows - some devastating - on Americans’ livelihoods: Nearly two-thirds of US adults were worse off because of it, and roughly 1 in 6 couldn’t pay all their monthly bills, new Federal Reserve data shows.
The Fed on Tuesday released its Economic Well-Being of US Households report for 2023, examining the financial lives of US adults and their families. The report found that 72% of adults surveyed said they were “doing okay” financially. That’s a tick lower than last year but well below the high of 78% hit in 2021 (and still above the record low of 62% in 2013)."

Big government spending on sweetners and unicorns = higher taxes = higher inflation = government subsides to quell inflation,
The rising interest rate can surely control inflation, but won't prevent erosion of the eroding purchasing power of the US dollar. I have learnt my lesson this time. The banks can't be making money off my money, while inflation eats into it. I have set aside 650k to invest in the stock market now, since that keeps up with inflation, but I don't know how to get started.

My family is in the lowest income bracket. We are poor. I have a good job and work my butt off, yet I remain poor. You see, my wife doesn't work because we have 2 children with Autism. If you have Autistic children, you'll understand how much work that is. Therefore, to survive, I constantly grind myself to death at work. We are trying to save and buy a house to get out of the townhouse we currently live in. Yet, I gain no ground. Rent rates are increasing faster than I can grind. The Federal guidelines for food assistance are questionable at best. We receive no assistance. Congress will gladly give $900 bil to the military industrial complex, but they just can't find the funds to help the poor feed their children. For each raise I get, each hour of OT I pick-up, I should take a step forward. However, the cost of utilities, food, and rent go up faster.. and I end up two steps back. Citizens United sold of our Nation's soul. From the Supreme Court to the House of Representatives.. legal corruption and bribery is ubiquitous. We need leadership, but have none. Congress hasn't passed a true budget bill in nearly 30 years. We are $33 trillion dollars in debt, yet our chauffeurs are full when it's time to fund a genocide. We must create a party of the people, and take the seat of power from the Democrats and Republicans. Not by taking all of Congress or the Senate, but by taking enough to make the establishment nervous. The power of the 2 party system must be checked. Climate change, woman's reproductive rights, ratification of the ERA, education, healthcare, ending the genocide in Gaza, immigration reform.. these things are only possible if we unite under a powerful new 3rd party. Most third parties appeal to special interests or fringe ideologies. We need a 3rd party whose aim is to right the wrongs everyone feels. A party to bring balance back to governance. Many probably feel that it's too late, but I have to believe it's not. I have to believe we can restore power to the people.. but it starts with a massive, focused movement. That movement must become a viable political entity as well. You have to beat corruption where it lies.

The swamp is corporate corruption in our government. How is a corrupt grifter supposed to fix that? Both the parties have been bribed to heck and back by every rich a-hole that doesn't give a crap about you or me. Republicans and Democrats are bought by the same people. They talk differently, but do the same things when they're in office. We need a new option. Perhaps someone not 70+ years old and mired in decades of corruption. Biden and Trump don't fit that bill. A viable 3rd party, a Unified Party of true patriots, can bring order back to Washington. The swamp makers will never drain the swamp... We're gonna have to outsource for that. Violence doesn't work. Protest doesn't work. Playing them at their own game, in the political arena.. it does work. Expose the corrupt. Unveil the wolves. Pressure the powerful elites.

We like to think of it as a greed thing from the top, when really (in my opinion) it's a control tactic from outside of the construct we live in. It's not as full fledge conspiracy as some of the theories suggest, but I do feel that most of this is intentional, and done by a group of people that aren't elected, who don't have seat terms, and are able to stay mostly anonymous. I'm poor, and I'm struggling, but the most kindness I experience comes from fellow poor people lending a helping hand to each other. People are more good than we're shown, and if we wanted these problems fixed, they would be, BUT there is clearly nefarious agendas at play against us. We're pitted against each other, with our biases used against us so we will never come together. We're being played from every angle, and we can't even see that it goes past Race, Sex, Sexual Orientation, and yes, even Religion. It has everything to do with the devaluation of the dollar by rampant federal spending paid by printing money out of thin air. Want to reduce inflation? Then directly raise taxes with every spending bill. I guarantee you it would bring and end to federal spending once Americans understand what it costs them.

This is true. I hear Biden saying how great the economy is and as far as statistics go I believe that should be the case but when you break it down into individual families that's where the problem lies. We as individual families .. shopping for groceries and trying to feed our families .. are not feeling that break in inflation. As a matter of fact the cost of food at the grocery store has tripled and it's getting harder and harder to feed our families. And people like me who are disabled seniors on a very pitiful .. lower than the national poverty level .. salary from the government are literally starving ..and there is no break in the cost of housing either! The rents most often than not are exceeding the income! This is where Joe Biden is failing to keep his promises and meet the needs of the people. Joe Biden ran his first campaign on increasing the income of those on Social Security and Social Security Disability to bring it up to at least minimum wage and he failed to do that. A lot of us voted for him for that reason. We are going to vote for him now because he is obviously better than the alternative but he really needs to address the low income of those on Social Security and Social Security disability and the inflation we are all feeling at the grocery store and the housing market!
