This board always reminds me of Pirate Land! Ahh, Mario Party 2 was (And still is) the best. I actually made a retrospective series review in a video called "Luigi Time!!! Mario Party". In the video, I wrote lyrics to one of the series' catchy songs and sing all about it's awesome features!
Its the game's gimmick. The characters are all in the same area, but they rotate to see what each one is going to get. So the characters still get different things, its just more based on turns. You can also really screw someone up by intentionally going in a direction that they don't want to go in. There is a little more control of your opponents. That being said, 1-3 are the only Mario Party games I really love but this one brings originality and shakes the formula enough to be good.
Why this Video so many dislikes? It's only on youtube if somebody want's to see how this game looks and works or to find out how to progress further into the game. (I'm hoping you can undersand what I'm trying to say, I'm german)

Well, with even less mini-games your more depending on luck then skill. By boos I meant the ones where you can steal coins and stars. Besides what strategy is in the boards, its mostly luck.
