Not EXACTLY, but Troy did a video a little while ago on making vertical videos (with horizontal footage) that would probably help. I'll make a note of this for a future idea! czcams.com/video/sovLtOorVsI/video.htmlsi=zfDFlqXBEt35dmLO
Please, please, please add more options for captions, so we can make our audio podcasts into videos with captions front and center and easy to read. I can make my own SRT file from the audio, but the options for captions are limited to the bottom of the screen and aligned to the left. I would love to put them in the center for the screen with option to align them in the center! Thank you for considering this request!!
If you have Audiate, you can send your audio to Audiate and send it back using Dynamic Captions. If you don’t…then wait until June for Camtasia. ;) Coming soon.
Are you starting Camtasia with a “New Recording” or “New Project”? If you start with a “New Project” then it sets the size by the project, and locks it. Try starting blank with a “New Recording” and that should fix it.
Loving Camtasia. Is there going to be support to having the option to record in Camtasia Rev vertically as a default? Having the option would be very helpful!
Rev remembers the last settings that you’d used! So the next time you record with it, if you’d used vertical the previous time, it’ll start by offering you vertical. 😊
@@techsmith fantastic! Thanks for the response. One more question.. when filming in horizontal, Camtasia zooms in a little bit. Is there a way to disable that setting? I’m wanting a wider shot.
@@countblainer Are you referring to Rev zooming in? If so, what's happening is most likely that it's cropping the edges to show off the animated background from Rev. The easiest way is to choose a layout that doesn't show a background (essentially goes all the way to each edge) or, when you click "Edit in Timeline" click the track you don't want zoomed in on your timeline, and int he Properties panel.
A burning question. Does it hurt if I use png or jpg files that are high res such as 15000 x 10000 300 res to create a slide type video made up of family pics or whatever.
Somehow we didn't see this when it came in! (Apologies!) The only thing that would hurt is the playback performance of your computer struggles with it. But Camtasia should be fine, scale them to fit inside the canvas of your video and you should be good to go.
@@AnnaRosaEverythingEnergy Nope, those two things aren't related. Once you export your video (at 1080p or 4k or whatever resolution) CZcams's playback is unrelated to the original size of the images you used in Camtasia.
@@asksoby Camtasia Rev isn't available on mobile. Camtasia Rev is in the Camtasia (desktop) recorder, it' s a toggle switch before you hit record. But you can create vertical videos with it. czcams.com/video/p3ZQUYHX-H4/video.htmlsi=mJhrji6W1mXYDWn-
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE !!! I am trying to find out if you can lock text to a moving object in a video (I am making some tutorials).... Can this be done ? a HOW TO video would be amazing,, thank you...
That's called Motion Tracking and not something that can be done currently in Camtasia. You can fake it by creating a Motion Path from our Visual Effects panel, but it's more manual than it sounds like. you're looking for. However, you can choose a starting point, and an ending point, and right click on the timeline to "extend motion path to here" if there are more than those two initial points of interest.
@@IanCocklin I can only tell you it's not coming in our next major update, beyond that I'm not sure, but I WILL let the team know of your request directly (it's not the first time we've heard it).
Being a Camtasia user, do you have a tutorial on taking a pre-existing video clip and turning it into a short

What about adding transcribed text to the video like most reels have these days? Any automatic way to do that?

After I shoot my video the Size option is unclickable. What am I doing wrong?

Do I remember this correctly, is Camtasia coming to iOS and Android?
Nope, no plans for a mobile editor.
So we can't do this type of editing in Camtasia 2023 if recorded another way? I prefer Zoom for recording.
Not yet…stay tuned!

While we don't have a Motion Path tutorial, it functions exaclty as our Cursor Path creator does here: czcams.com/video/fxqn9-U_cKY/video.html
