    If you have a key cutting machine, almost all 1 depths on nearly every type of key will give just a slight cut on the surface of the key. If you mark all your keys with a 1 depth it will allow you to just have to worry about the depths instead of the spacing. I do this on every key I impression and it works great.

    Looks like a Versa Guard tstat cover. Ive installed quite a number of these. Usually all keyed the same. I have a bunch of extra keys where I've put multiple boxes in the houses I service. I'll send you a few if you want, you've got nothing to loose by trying it and you'll gain time if it does work. Appreciate the video. Flirting with a pair of those cutters myself 😎😎😎😎

    I always start with a CH751. It's far too common. Then a handful of test keys I have. Then I see about impressioning keys. Thanks Jason

    Nice visual decoding. That Lishi looks like it's perfect for someone like myself, who doesn't have a key cutter, and only cuts keys for challenge locks. Better than hand filing every cut.

    What was the hardest thing for you when learning to be a locksmith. Would be cool to talk about your experiences as a apprentice locksmith or trainee locksmith.
    I think the hardest part for me would be trying to remember all the different types of key blanks and what they are for in the first year of locksmithing.

    Hi what is the measurement or angle that the ceiling 14MC produces on the key blank? I’m working on making a key cutter tool for the lishi and working on kw1 and I’m confused on the angle and flat measurements. Do u know by any chance?

    • @selock
      @selock  Před 6 lety

      Peter D'Ambra they seem to be only a handful of codes, I did try the one I cut before but it wasn’t it. So now I’ve already got two :) I’ve gotten pretty quick at doing this so really for the cost of two blanks and 2-3 minutes (using my code machine, I only used the Lishi for video reason) it’s actually more profit/less extra stock in doing it this way. Also these are pretty limited on codes anyway, I’ve added this one & the last one I did to my tryout keys ;)
