- What if the TTC Sounded Like New York City's Subway Trains?
After carefully syncing the audio of the MTA Trains and the video of the TTC Trains, here is the result.

Fun Fact: The R110A (a New York Train) has the same propulsion motor as the T1.
No. The T1s is more powerful:
QuarioQuario54321 have you heard the r110A
It has a similar sounding 3 phase AC VFD system (also designed by ADtranz/Bombardier)
The TTC uses
Bombardier MITRAC three phase AC and the NYC subway uses Bombardier MITRAC IGBT-VVVF AC traction motors, model: TM1301SP. TTC and NYC subway uses the same train manufacturer. Well NYC uses two.
atom starfire productions they are the same.
I applaud the effort of the syncing in audio
Very nice
They both sound nice.
@6:30 The R160 Siemens propulsion fits the Toronto Rockets very well based on its sleek design.
The TR kinda sounds like a quiet version of the R160
@@devvydoesstuff ik this is old but you have a point
Omg this is what I was waiting for
The R142A/R188 matches the Rocket quite well!
I wish TTC still kept some H5s and the H6s
right........ but The H6s ARE A WORK TRAIN
jayvee Valdez no H6s are left, all were scrapped sadly
Detroit Diesel Series 50 they are work trains-
@@Bloor25 no they were a passenger train built in 1984 and retired on June 20,2014
Same but the sound like a good idea to put that sound
The whole thing made me laugh the whole time 😀😁😂😃😄😅
YES! The TTC sounded like the MTA NYC subway trains. Also, I see the yellow platforms that would not let humans stand close the Toronto Transit Commission trains to be arriving. Finally, now we have a comparison between the Subway train noises in Toronto and in New York. Good video! 😀
This wasn't a comparison dude this video is editing out the original sounds of the trains and swapping them out with the train sounds of the New York subway In reality the TTC Subway trains sound nothing like these and the only similarity in real life being the Propulsion motors in the T1 sound similar to the R110A
@@Packle. Oh, OK. Thanks.
Did anyone else realize the R160 propulsions (both but not all of them) was taken from the video “R160 D train action”? (I know because I watched the video)
Yes, I did realize that because I watched that video before.
Torontonians are always criticizing their city but if they spent a significant amount of time living in New York City they would probably love Toronto!!
theres already one TTC train that sounds like an MTA train, and its called the T1, it sounds like an R110A
Wrong they use different motors and the T1 is stronger and there is a sound difference when the sound is about to cut out and go to the track noises and I think the T1 is younger so bombardier might if used the R110A as a test for that motor to use on the T1
I said like, not does.
@@scytheyt4051 shut up. They’re both the same ok. Also T1 looks like it’s from the 80s while R110A is 90s lol
@@Boypogikami132 the T1's were based of the Hawker series, using that design 20 years prior to it's delivery.
@@scytheyt4051 Bombardier didn't make the R110A's, Kawasaki did.
Bombardier did make the R110B's however, but they didn't use the same motors.
The R-160 at the start dressed up for the GTA would make a great T-shirt ! Let me know if you make ‘em in 3X.
Strange, they sound like R142A, or R188, not T1s. That was so funny.
I thought they would use R46s/R62s/R68s
the T1S sounded like an R110A
@@boiii3productions945 they don’t have a propolsion-
@@boiii3productions945 they have basic motors, it doesnt have phases, therefore there's no propulsion sound
Is it just me? Or do the Door Closing Chime sounds like the First 3 Notes of Sesame Street (Sunny Days)
what if a T1 sounded like a R110A
🤦♂️
lol
Then we call you TTF
DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUN
It already does. NYC’s R110A and Toronto’s T1 use the same AdTranz GTO-VVVF traction motors. Note that the R110A is no longer on the rails anymore, because it was a test train that was meant to test new technologies that would be installed on later rolling stock, and in addition, the train had brake and electrical problems, so it had to be taken out of service.
Nice
I was hoping the Rocket trains would be spec'd with Alstom Onyx propulsion motors. Hopefully in the next order lol
What if it sounded like the Long Island Railroad, Metro North Railroad, New Jersey Transit, Philadelphia Metro, and Amtrak Trains?
The end result, loud and noisy
You live in New York too, do you?
That's mostly the AC units running on the train and compressors
Yep
The R142, R188, and R143 sound the same to each other
R142A, not R142
R142A's are rebuilt R188's, and why cant they use the same system?
1:02 S P E E D
It is true that the MARTA trains in Atlanta sound like the NYC Subway's R142As, R143s, and R188s.
Tesla Fan101 get out of here
@@thebostonbusguy2265 It's no joke!
The Traction system on the R142As, R188s, & R143s match perfectly with the Rockets
Sounds like R160 Alstom, R160 Siemens, R142 Alstom, R179, R143, R142a, and R188
Imagine an R160 on the TTC Tracks
im doing the exact same as you are doing bud :)
EDIT: Look in the replys
well fuck i got my seccond strike
TTC TRAIN STATION IS A GREAT CITY
TTC subways do not need to sound like other subways TTC subways are special in a good way
Ok boomer
If you want to listen to NY subways go to NY do not expect other subways to sound like others
Brian Sokoloski I agree!! Toronto Subways have their own cool sounds and should always have them, especially with their newer high performance traction motors!
There are some Railcars in Atlanta, Georgia that have the same propulsion system as our Railcars in New York City.
Show me an American system that goes ding ding ding! you can't! check mate Obama
This is so funny! XD
Can you do a video of a Russian subway (81-717) that sounds like an H5?
h5s has been retired and scrapped, soo it's gone for good. sorry
@@jacobelwin6764 so what? doesn't mean we can't still enjoy videos of them
Good experiment 😊
The T1 sounds likes the R110A.
Can you do this vice versa?
I was in Toronto in the late 1980's & 1990's The Kennedy to Scarborough line shuttle sounds identical to the R110 A cars! 🤔
Its sounds like a R188
T1: I already sound like it
There’s a T1 2 line train that sounds like the r110A train from nyc subway that ran on an IRT line
1:10 I *HATE* it when cameras do that.
We all do in fact XD
I legit tried a Japanese motor on Toronto Rocket using IGBT VVVF hahahahaha
Try putting Keikyu 1000 with older Siemens VVVF sound over a TR
@@atomstarfireproductions8695 or a TR with Flexity AI.
It will b great, if TTC's rocket can change engine sound of R143 Siemens or regular R143?
It can
Canadatorontotransit no it can’t
Canada needs some of those propulsions.
Imagine if the ttc borrows the r160
I love Toronto in Canadá
Ik sum of the clips he got audio from too 😂 im such a nerd
These are all in line 2?
6:45 please stand clear of the doors different voice rather than new york
*The TTC should be free in April. The end.*
Ladies and gentlemen the mta nyc transit is now attending to ttc train
Oh my god
R179 fits Toronto rockets because they both by bombardier
A New York train plus ttc T1?
The T1 sounds like an R110A
Yes, The T1 and R110A were built in the 90s when this propulsion system was used. (ITS T1, NOT H5)
The T1 and the R110A kinda have the same motor but the T1’s motor is more powerful
is it just me or the tr sounds like a r179 or a r160
You forgot Stand clear of the Closing doors
Hmm, now I actually prefer the R179 motor on the TR, sounds more futuristic.
T1s sound like R110A
No rt?
the ttc tr sounds like the mta subway right? kinda.
And Marta
0:46 the hell...
If you live in new york, the heavy screeching of the brakes is extremely common to hear, its annoying but you'll get used to it
@@whatcaniwriteherelol very true
because jerome yard doesnt maintain ther r142as well
regen r160 r46 r32 r30 and r210
R143 AND R142A ARE LITERALLY THE SAME SOUND
No they use different motors and it’s like the R188 and R142A they sound a little different so chill the hell out bud
yeah cause they use the same category of bombardier mitrac motors 🤦🏿♂
Did they actually added the NYC sounds to the TTC?
no 🤦🏿♂🤦🏿♂
They added 1 NYC sound. The R110A.
all T1 sound like R110A
i was expecting a video like this lol
At 7:00 Sounds like A London Underground Tube Train
AvatarLloyd CZcams he knows that he just said it sounds like it 🤦♂️
you mean r179 lemon
shut up
Unreal under R142A ,R143 or R188 weird motor
this is the most cursed video i have ever seen
well only some T1s
I prefer r143 and r160 on Toronto rocket
All train in Canada something feeling funny NY Train motor
what
Can you do if the ttc sounds like london underground?
2009 stock lol
Rocket train: hello
Oh gosh please no
