Today I just got accepted to my dream uni in the uk! Of course I am very excited but also terrified since I will be moving away to a whole different continent and away from my family and friends and starting all over. This idea is both equally liberating and scary. However, like you mentioned, maybe college isnât such a scary thing after all. Thank you for reminding me of this Jing

Itâs scary at first moving away but my god is it the best. Iâm a second year international student studying in the UK and I canât imagine myself choosing a different route for uni.
I did a study abroad in the UK and when I first arrived in my room after the journey I felt so weird and empty and upset. I think in a week time, however, I was completely used to the new situation, you really do adapt quickly ! now I'm so goddamn happy I went there and I'm so proud of myself. And, indeed, it really wasn't that scary, I would even say not scary at all. It is really so cool you got accepted in this university, you can be really proud of your hard work and your courage !
Congratulations and good luck with your course. I also go to university in the UK, hope you enjoy the few years.

As someone whoâs had to move a lot, I can definitely relate to struggling with maintaining friendships (or not doing so at all to be honest) and Iâve actually come to the exact same conclusion, about most friendships when weâre younger existing out of convenience. Even before the pandemic, I was never really one to go out with friends and spend time with them outside of school. Something I want to try this year is to socialise more and I think Iâll do better actually seeking out people who share interests with me. For me, there are also the issues of social awkwardness and distance... and Iâm probably moving for the seventh time in my life (Iâm not quite nineteen) next year but eh.

Hi Jing! I also just watched your "pov: you're the eldest daughter living alone for the first time" video and both of these videos have resonated so much with me. Lately I've also been thinking a lot about maintaining friendships & how easy it is for some to fade away over time if you don't consciously put in effort. I've also felt kinda guilty about being so privileged to be able to chase my own dreams + having access to amazing resources, which are all made possible by my incredibly supportive & hardworking parents. Before I started watching your videos I always thought to study in top-tier unis. I really liked Oxford uni and after watching your videos, my liking is getting more stronger for Oxford. ahhh that's definitely something I struggled with (and still do sometimes) but I try my best to not study in my room instead in libraries or cafes so when I'm back in my room I turn everything off and allocate that time to relaxing
