You should do what I did with those. I recently got a 12-pack of UFO spin tops that I modded with lithium rechargeable batteries that will last a few days without needing to be charged if constantly left on it only takes 5 minutes to charge. If you still want the flickering mess that is low battery then you could just not put a BMS while you install the batteries
