    I noticed that you have removed your vapour separator. I had fuel starvation. I traced it to petrol boiling in the vapour separator. Our fuel, like the USA, has ethanol added which has a lower boiling point than pure petrol. I made a bracket and moved the vapour seperator away from the engine. Problem solved.

    • @pjs-golfmk1-diy
      @pjs-golfmk1-diy  Před 3 lety

      I have been running without vapor separator for almost a year now .( I put in T valve. Creating a fuel return line). Had no problems.... Actually I seen some Earlier mk1's and vw jettas that ran on same principle. Incidentaly I owned a jetta in the 90 's which never came with a fuel separator., but a T valve. Yes it is a good idea to not have that separator so close to the engine..Can't understand why it was put so close, but if u managed to shift it away from the heat, then good job . I actually question the quality of the fuel separators we buying today.. I opened one up one day, and it was shocking to see how flimsy it looked inside..

    My golf is "ruk en plukking" when I drive. I replaced pump. Fuel filter. And timing belt. Timing is set correct. Also replaced coil. Distributor cap. And wires also spark plugs..... Any advise... I'm thinking the distributor itself or the Feul condenser "seperator" ? Adding I also checked for air leaks and replaced carb rubber fitting

    • @pjs-golfmk1-diy
      @pjs-golfmk1-diy  Před 3 lety

      Try by passing the fuel separator as a test... And see if things improves.....also check your rotor in the distributor

    My manual says service every 15000km. I see you change oil every 5000km. I also feel 15k is too infrequent. I am doing every 10k. What made you choose evey 5k?

    • @pjs-golfmk1-diy
      @pjs-golfmk1-diy  Před 3 lety

      Hi, understood yes. I am aware what the vw manual stipulates, but it's a personal choice.. Maybe not exactly 5k. But between 5 and 8k...car is still standard.. Never had a an overhaul yet.No sign of oil usage or leakage. 450k on clock..
