Pantheon is super fun to play. I like how versatile and flexible he is. You can play him in any role and make it work, kind of like Gragas.

I play hybrid lethality/bruiser panth jg, rushing umbral into eclipse (sometimes with mobies)

I prefer divine sunderer when you build cleaver. Eclipse/Sunderer burst/dmg is similar to eclipse. Eclipse with last whisperer 2nd or 3rd after Bork is insane.
On a side note you mention that riven is tough matchup, however panth kinda hardcounters riven

so its eclipse cleaver bork into ravenous hydra shojin and if needed sell boots for visage
sometimes you q a minion and gain a stack, other times you q and lose all stacks. How does it work? do you need to have all stacks full and red for W to be better, or do you use the 3 stacks gained from the w, so you jump in with 2 grey and get all 5 from the w then Q for full damage? eg q with all 5 stacks, w e and back up to 5 stacks then q again landing 2 empowered qs separated by a cc and a block incoming damage
In short using an ability or autoing anything adds 1 stack, using an ability at 5 stacks empowers the ability and puts you back to 0 stacks. Using unempowered w does not add the 3 bonus attacks so using w at 2 stacks doesn't get you to 5 instead leaving you on only 3. For max damage use empowered w then either 2 autos or auto and e to get to 5 and drop an empowered q :)

My suggestion is try to max w second. It just destroys with bork when u jump.
First item bork, then Black cleaver for gaining tankiness, eclipse, essence reaver and lord dominic or other last whisper item. This is how i play pantheon for 2 years actually and it both shreds full tanky guys and squishy carries. I got climbed into plat myself and i wasnt even play good in silver. Its just broken.
Im currently building eclipse first black cleaver second serylda's third and then have fun with collector and let me tell you IT. MELTS. EVERYTHING. including tanks
Have you heard of the true damage pantheon build or mathematically correct pantheon?
Prowlers Claw > Essence Reaver > Boots > Situational Lethality (Default Youmoo Ghostblade) > Situational Lethality (Default Serpents Fang, or collector if no shields) > Blade of the Ruined King
The one shot potential is insane, and can reach 121% of the damage numbers on your W with PTA and Coup de Grace.

Yesterday i figured out Pantheon build that makes him scales (i went from 1/4 to 22/8 and their carry was Nasus):
Start with doran blade. Whenever you can i prefer sell the red potion to take the green ones.
Divine Sunderer
Boots (plate or mercury, based on match up)
Black Cleaver
Botrk
Shojin or Edge of night (if you are feeded take shojin, if you're not take edge of night)
Edge of night or shojin (take the one you didn't build before, sell the potions there)
Guardian Angel (or antiheal if they have heavy heals, sell the boots there)
Runes:
Firts strike, biscuits, cosmic intuit
Collector of bulbs, supreme hunter
Damage, damage, Armor/MR
I choice first strike instead of pressed attack because, with a full build lvl 18 you do only 100-200 damage less but the first strike gives you a lot of gold, that Pantheon needs to build the items before and outscale other champions

As a Panth main for those who want real advice I would say that at level 2 you need to be aggressive and always go for first blood. Why is that you will ask. Well, that's an easy 700 gold and with them you don't save for eclipse, but for sheen. This is the most insane first item for Pantheon. Anyways the most important thing is to be skill enough to manipulate the map (with R) and never miss spearshots. Also your biggest fear is Fizz. Ban him if you don't want to see how you are wasting your w. New update doesn't really impact Pantheon games so all good. Hope I helped

I HATE s13 i cant play top and climb at all i stomp lane as a tank leave try to frontline hit my abilities help the jungler and they all run in front of me kill themselves and we lose i hop on my alt play mord mid stomp the entire game dont need team and win it myself fk top lane and fk playing for team mmr system is terrible and forces the most disgusting selfish playstyle imaginable

but the old pantheon is butter then pantheon rework In terms of design Because its design is inspired by hoplite
and pantheon rework game play is bad Because he dont have the poke ability and the diving ability like the old pantheon so yes the old pantheon is better then the pantheon rework
