    The only issue I see is with it being so cheap is that if anyone actually wanted a Rex will just buy it and unless Star Wars brings Rex back in a show the demand won't be there 4-5 years from now. Just my opinion though. I base my assumptions off when I sold comic books during the reign of the MCU and made a killing.

      That's a valid point, I just think P2 Captain Rex is "THE" figure that most kids that watched the clone wars wants. I'm assuming a 2 year shelf life, and plenty of those kids that watched the Clone Wars will be going through their dark years in Lego and will be off to college and miss this set, and a few years later will want to buy that figure when they get back into Lego.

    Firstly, welcome back as have missed your great take on LEGO investing!!
    As I’ve mentioned before in some of your videos, I’ve been doing this for over 10 years here in the UK and got through many economic storms!! Completely agree with your take on this set and your view on the current economic issues going on, I’ve noticed here lots of collections going up for sale at much lower prices and have taken advantage of that. Just proves people’s struggles, but also how many are getting out of the game after the COVID burst, they thought it would be easy for a quick flip!!
    But one last thing I would like to say, over here in the UK we have a company that runs “Brick Festivals” which are all over the country and on every weekend somewhere … I’ve now done two of these this year, as I never like to start too early after December and have had massive success. Now this isn’t to blow my own trumpet, but more to say that even though we’re in some sort of financial storm .. people are buying!! I take 120 sets to every event I do, to keep the variables the same when comparing each event and I’ve sold 75/80% of those sets at these events!! Just a different take to prove this is definitely a good time to invest in LEGO!!
    Sorry for the long comment, keep up the good work and look forward to your next videos!!

      Wow!! No Brick Festivals over here. We have some Lego events, but kind of far from where I live. This summer is going to get real interesting in the states. Thanks for all your support!!

      @@thecollectorinvesting Shame we can’t move them over there, they’re great for the LEGO community to get together … not just resellers, they have trade stalls, display stalls for people with MOC’s, fun bins where kids build what they want and win prizes, got the charity stands … basically great days out and you make money on your investments!! Win, win I say!!
      Always, look forward to next videos!!

    I feel Lego should have made a small change to the figure so the Venator figures stays unique.

    • @thecollectorinvesting
      @thecollectorinvesting  Před 2 měsíci +2

      They probably would have, but the figure in the UCS set was kind of average, no waist cape or side leg printing. It would have been funny if the MicroFighter figure was better and had a waist cape and side leg printing.

      @@thecollectorinvesting I just think they could have avoided some negative press if they had created a minor variation. I haven't purchased the Venator set or the fig from it, but if I had I would be a little annoyed.

    Even though the economy is bad at the moment I would advise that now is the best time to invest in Lego. The last economic crash was 2008 and sets from that period are some of the best investments of all time. However only if you are financially stable

    • @thecollectorinvesting
      @thecollectorinvesting  Před 2 měsíci +2

      You are correct, I would even say nearly all sets before 2020 have increased significantly. Obviously something happened in 2020 that changed Lego forever. The only thing I would caution is that Lego has more than quadrupled it's production capabilities since 2008, and lego investing has skyrocketed in the last 5 years. It would be interesting if someone tried to gather how many Lego sets (per theme) were purchased for investment in 2008 vs 2023/2024. I'm sure those numbers would be more of a guess, but looking at what was for sale online in 2008 vs 2023 for retired sets would be some interesting data.

    Looks like you've been busy stacking up on crypto over the last six months, and now you're back to scooping up LEGO deals. It's great to see you back!

    Thanks for the rex info. Even at this time, when it is already relatively high, it is still worth buying crypto rather than Lego. I will do it by buying really exceptional sets from lego this year that will end (Eldorado Fortress, 31120 + bricklink designer program) and I will gradually transfer more capital to crypto currencies if we see any more sales.

      I would be shocked if stores like Walmart and Target limited the sales on this set. I'm guessing it will sell out for about 3 months, then stores will get re-supplied and it won't sell out after that.

  • @stroy2467
    @stroy2467 Před 2 měsíci

    Local buyers want bigger discounts so you won’t be able to sell it for that much. You’ll might even make less than if you sell it online.

    • @thecollectorinvesting
      @thecollectorinvesting  Před 2 měsíci

      Most times, I Usually target local sales around the holidays, people like making sure they have it in hand before Christmas, so they pay more at that time of year.
