As a huge Motoi Sakuraba fan, Gwyn's theme has been on my list of tracks to arrange for a long time. I had originally planned to make a piano cover of it, but - like most of the orchestral arrangements I end up working on - after sketching out a couple of ideas for woodwind and percussion parts, I was absolutely hooked on the idea of fully orchestrating the whole track. Some of the chord voicings in the original are absolutely stunning, and I wanted to recapture some of the same somber emotions of the original, while adding more urgency and movement with the much larger scale and huge sweeps.

' Try Tongue But Hole '
Such legendary words....
Sounds like that tired old man finally found a reason to fight. No longer is he protecting the cinders of the first flame, but he is fighting for something- someone else. Alas, he has failed none the less. Such is his fate...
what?
"Gwyn's mighty bolts pierced their stone scales."
Did they molt when you threw your mighty bolt?
wasn't it peeled?..
Gabriel Reyes The witches of Izalith brought large firestorms.
Gabriel Reyes Nito, the First of the dead, brought miasma and death.
And Seath who betrayed the dragons
Love it, sounds like an entirely new theme
Only 45 minutes have passed and I already came back, k den
the drums and flutes give it an almost primordial feel, I like that
"And so it was that Gwyn Lord of Sunlight with the power of his Lord Soul forged mighty Bolts capable of tearing the Arch-Dragons stone scales Asunder!"
I love me some tom toms

Holy crap, Laura! I think this might be your best work yet. There's just so much to love with it.
This is such a beautiful interpretation, one of my favourite Dark Souls remixes I have heard!
I hope you do more remixes/interpretations from the Dark Souls series
Late last year, I released this track in Reflections of Another World, a huge collection of video-game arrangements!

Without this amazing remix I would have never had the curiosity to look up the original, which would lead me to being sucked into the game world as an outsider. Late last year I finally taking the plunge into Dark Souls 3 (was less than $20.00 on Steam at the time) to beat the game today not even an hour before posting this.
None of that would have happened if you didn't make this remix.
If you're ever going to do another Dark Souls remix I have three suggestions from Dark Souls 3, those being the Abyss Watchers and Slave Knight Gael's boss themes (my top two bosses) and Epiloge (the track the plays over the credits). If you're Asgore remix is any indicator, an Epiloge remix could surpass your Asgore remix as (IMHO) your best remix.
AshenTycoon yes :3 did you ever play one? The feeling you get when you hear the theme for the last time in your first run... unparalleled. The silence is deafening
*Play Dark Souls ONE!!!*
AshenTycoon play 1 and 2 I’ve beat 1 recentlyand am playing through 2 now gonna do 3
I listened it over and over again. This is a masterpiece.
This somehow feels like an amalgamation of Dark Souls, Final Fantasy XII, Golden Sun, and a few other games I can't place. Absolutely awesome! Subscribed.
This is amazing, beautiful work!
This is absolutely beautiful!
This is spectacular, too!
This deserves more attention. I love it! Makes me wish that was the actual battle theme.
It's beautiful. GJ
Epic!
I love when in 2:16 the music sound epic and then pass to something more magic and melancholic
This music makes me imagine the golden age of anor londo XD. beautiful!
I feel like there should be more piano, but even so i really enjoyed your remix!
it would be shame if I don't subscribe after this
Loved it

YES
YESSSS!!!!!!!
When the ancient dragons come and dislike your video =/
instruments used makes it sound like the kiln took place in a snowy tundra
Can you please do the theme for the abyss watchers
When Spiderman is a Lord of Cinder
Mind me asking what program you use to orchestrate? It almost always seems like your arrangements have human players!
okay maatimovie give me some poetry
oh shit
i saw you on my man hbomberguy's video and checked you out by pure chance but i love this
got yaself a new sub
Dark souls 1 is the best souls game, change my mind.
the beginning made me think i was listening to the hollow knight soundtrack. in general this reminds me more of hollow knight than it does dark souls
kawaii hitler and hollow knight was inspired by dark souls so it's ok it all loops back.
yeah it is inspired, but i wouldn't say the soundtrack is. at least not that much
I'm not gonna lie, I've never played Dark Souls, but I've always been entranced by it's workd and lore. So while I'm listening to this, I'm imagining the great Gwyn of old, the one who struck dragons from the skies, at the fore of his armies wielding the light. He readies his bolt, clutched tight and raised high above his head, bellowing to his men:
"Today is the last day of Darkness, The skies may blacken once more, but they blacken with the bodies of the dragons!
"Today, we pierce the Dark, we rail against it, and usher in a new age of Fire!"
"By the cry of my bolt, men, ready your own, and steady yourselves!"
And then, in dead silence, Gwyn's light soars, and pierces its first dragon, which is met with raucous clamor. Thousands more take to the air, and one by one, in a hail of Light from below, the dragons come pouring down, their impenetrable hides sundered and crumbling.
Play it. One of the best video game experiences I've ever had.
Funny how that works huh? It's weird to be drawn to a game's music, even if you've never played the game. Music makes you feel things. Then you start to look into the lore. I kind of did the same thing with Horizon Zero Dawn haha. I first heard the music and it really drew me in!
can you pls extended?! ^^
For now, just right-click and press "loop"
I use phone or tablet for yt
@@KuraiShogun same
dang, I've never even played blark bowels
it sounds like it came straight out fried emblem
All dislikes have become hollow
osht
Sounds like something from Hollow Knight
Truly, this is the song of the lord of sunlight, not cinders
Thats better than original :D
DaniiLNavaT I'd have to say that they're about the same for me as both are amazing tracks, the original is a (comparatively) simple yet VERY powerful somber piano solo. This isn't really somber, but it takes advantage of being more enerjetic, almost a reverse of her Asgore remix in a sense.
