Hey Ocean! I am a therapist here in America, mental health care can unfortunately be really expensive. Sometimes (here at least) at the schools where they have counseling programs where they are teaching the therapists, they offer lower cost sessions because they are interns!! Maybe they would have something like that if you asked around! Some places also might offer a “sliding scale” for cost based on financial need. I hope you have a great day! 💜
i looked into that and my doctor said my problems are too big for a student LOL yikes but thank you! 🤗💙 It's crazy how getting help can be so expensive and hard to get into the wait times are so crazy i never realized!
i talk to a pyscologist but she doesn't help. my mom recently passed April 11 and i'm still grieving 😭😭💔 im so depressed. i'm engaged. she was there for my engagement. she promised she will be there for my wedding. it's just not fair. i'm never the same 😭😭💔my heart is broken.

As someone whose been in therapy since i was very young and ]countless therapists, i would say the best thing to do is to do a taster session with at least a couple different ones, finding the right person is crucial for progress. And id also say trust your gut, but also think about whether they make you feel comortable and if you respect their opinions. There are some not great ones out there but talking to a professional can be so affirming, good luck with everything!
How would you go about a tester session like what would you say/ask without telling them everything to see if you’re comfortable?
@@exos1bnetworth409 well its very personal but honestly in the first session i tend to ask about the therapist about their experience with certain issues and how they try to help . For a lot of people spirituaity and reilgion means a lot so they might ask about that, for others it could be that they want someone that is highly empathetic so they might share something and see how the therapist responds. Often in my experience the taster is kind of to get to know them so they might lead the conversation anyway and you can sort of guage if you like them like you would when meeting anyone new.

I’ve been seeing my therapist since I was 15 y/o, I’m now turning 20 about to study abroad alone in Tokyo:) everyone tells me I’m so mature for my age and I 100% owe it to therapy
Therapy can be so useful especially when used in conjunction with medication. Also, I know you mentioned starting a medication this past winter maybe (forgetting the timeline) for your mental health and sometimes medication can induce vivid dreams. Would definitely reccomended bringing this up to your general practitioner as well as a psychiatrist and/ or therapist.

Hey Ocean, the Ontario government has a program for therapy called, Bounce Back Ontario. You can get targeted therapy for free and get like 18 to 20 sessions for your specific anxiety issues.

If you have a university near you, there may be a clinic where PhD students are therapists and that is often cheaper, my therapist is a PhD student and my sessions are only 60$ each
