The Nahvalur Original Plus in Lovina Graphite

- It has been a while since I reviewed a Nahvalur (Narwhal) pen, and I've had the Original Plus on my list for quite a while. In this video I'll share my first impression of this vacuum-filled fountain pen. Ink will be a new-to-me shade, too: Private Reserve's Ebony Purple.

I'm not usually a rose gold guy, but this company does it really well with the elegant simplicity of their designs.
This is my 2nd VAC both arriving in a gap of 5 days, me an industrial design kinda guy my current most expensive pen being LAMY AION.
Wanted an ASVINE V200 but it was un available. So with bit of research Narrowed 2 pens down TWSBI VAC 700R IRIS
And this but I ve got the MATIRA WHITE, the sparkly one isnt the one with the nice leatherish pouch and black box, But the white box with nothing but the and the box. LOVED it IDK why as its not my taste the sparkle but the I was in love with TWSBI Cream rosegold ECO but it was slightly costlier than this with an injection molded body, which makes this 2times better as it is Vac FILLER novelty POINTS, AND turned acrylic and removable section. This actually makes it 3 folds better, I would have gotten the twisbi ECO but I had already pulled the trigger for VAC700R iris so ECO felt like a downgrade. The Matira white with rose gold accents keeps my clean pen needs satisfied and vac filler keeps the Novelty factor it checks a lot of boxes.
I agree with @psychohipps, normally I wouldn’t give this a second look, but this one looks really nice.
I've been on the fence regarding Navalhur for some while, finally pulled the trigger and got this pen. I'm enjoying it so far.
I have both a vacuum filler and a piston filler from this company. Love both of those pens. This one looks fantastic too.
The Nahvalur Original Plus is very cool, but I much prefer the Nahvalur Original, it's probably my favourite pen, the grip is perfect, but the most interesting thing is its nib (F) which is absolutely smooth, has no feedback and is totally silent. It's surprising, but super pleasant. I specifically have the demonstrator version, which looks great. I also have an Original Plus Azureus Blue (M), which is nice and pretty, but not as perfect as the Original.
What's more, neither of these pens ever dried out, even after several months without use.

Hi James. You know? Narwhal/Navahlur was becoming my favorite brand until they started creating hype by releasing too many versions of their pens, so I stopped at 7 pens and 3 additional nib units 😅 No more pens from them in the foreseeable future 😉
Did you notice if the cap ring of yours still reads "Narwhal" instead of "Navahlur"? My two Original+ do 🤔
😆 Yep, this one says Narwahl as well not sure if that’s using up parts already made or a nod back since it’s in their “Original” line.

Just checked with what I had handy, and it was slightly thinner than a Lamy F, thicker than my Waterman Embleme F. Similar to my Jinhao 95 F, and similar to my Pilot Kakuno M & Platinum Curidas M.

Lovely pens. Interestingly enough, you probably already know that the plunger mechanism fits both the PenBBS 459 and the Asvine vac fillers, which is very useful when you need to replace some of the littlle parts, which will come in the PenBBS parts bag.
Good reminder, and thanks for mentioning Asvine, too. I didn't think about them and the PenBBS parts. I need to share that with someone in the comments on the V126 video. 👍
Nice! I think they should include a wrench in the box.
I do, too, but oddly *not* including one is more common, kind of like converters in European pens.
Actually, they do include a small red or metal wrench. It's usually in the box.
I bought one at a pen show a couple of years ago. It was the right size and weight for me. The nib was so smooth. Mine had the black cap.
Notice how I use the past tense? It was lifted from my pants pocket in a store. How that was done is beyond me.
I should get another as it is a great pen.
That’s crazy, but I’ve heard of some pretty sneaky pick-pockets.

I have a. Ques my Narwhal arrived today
1.I saw the ink flow is like vac700 twsbi doesnt flow ink with just screwing u need to pull back the piston a bit. is it same for u?
2.On mine the bottom piston black cap which unscrews to write 4 longer session it came off with multiple screw operations.I screwed it back but its loosely held together unlike my twsbi .what to do ?

Sorry, I've been away from the channel several days, so I'm catching up.
• I haven't had that issue. Just unscrewing it most of the way seems to do the trick.
• On the piston knob, I'd contact Nahvalur and see what they say, it might be covered by warranty? If not, it sounds like it might need gluing (depending on how it's constructed). I'd have to damage mine to see if that's the case. I'd definitely contact them about it.
I did use some glue it seems to be stable now,I haven't overdone it,it still can be unscrewed but not unintentionally so seems about right but my Rubber which creates the vaccum is getting misaligned and is due to multiple plunges after I water flushed the pen and it came off and the vaccum was gone , I sent pen back to my seller Makoba they have fixed it but it still seems to be a tad bit off still, it took 3weeks to get it back but if it happens against I might just remove the rubber and make it a Japanese eyedropper type pen or I wud need the rubber gasket spare . Probably just letting you know my experience I have no one to talk to about this stuff. Would appreciate your comment on it.
That clear barrel is a deal killer for me,....its like leaving the house in my underwear.
My favorite pens are demonstrators. I love seeing the inner workings and the ink sloshing around. Conventional pens are boring.

Yes, I am! I inked it back up just last week. It’s my go-to when I’m in the mood for brown ink.
Is it an unspoken rule that the pen is to be filled with one hand or is that just to demonstrate that it's possible?
It’s to keep from blocking the camera’s view of the pen filling.

Don't like rose gold and prefer gold, silver or ruthenium, otherwise I probably would have both the black and the white by now. I got a Schuylkill Chromis Teal last Friday and I like it but the stub nib takes some getting used to. 😇🩷🙏🙌
