We take a look at the facts, feels and final thoughts of the Ford Focus RS. We always thought the Focus was designed to move people around as cheaply as possible. But in 2016 we were introduced to a Focus designed to move people around as quickly as possible. Raising the bar by making an airport rental car go 0-60mph in 4.7sec came at a price and we take a look to see if it is still worth it all these years later. So let's take a look!
*Please note that I am human and could be wrong on some of my “facts”, but still they give a good idea if considering the vehicle in your shopping.
I've borrowed this vehicle from my friend Mel

THANKS FOR WATCHING!!! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Excellent review! I’ve put 125k miles on my 2016 RS and even though the seat/ride hurt my back I still look forward to driving it every day.
You just nailed the philosophy behind the show!! My BRZ is not super convenient but I make excuses to get in and drive it. My wife said I really only became helpful after I got the car because that's when I started running most of the errands 🤣 Thanks for commenting and enjoy your amazing car!
As a owner of a 2017 RS here in the States, I love this car. I would recommend this car to anyone who likes hot hatches or small sporty vehicles.
Thanks for letting us know! AMAZING car!!!
Looking at one tomorrow, hoping it is as good as it seems. Scared by all the nay say on the internet. 2017/37k miles
Had mine almost a year as a DD. There’s been some hiccups because the dealership I bought it from was less than stellar but it doesn’t matter. I love the car like I love my fiancé lmao, it has made me hate driving every other car.
I may choose this over a scat pack just because they’re different but I’m 6foot 5😂
Thinking about trading in my audi s5 for an rs, test driving one tomorrow lol. How is the reliability and longevity of the car?
I love my RS, owned it for 4 years and loved every minute on my RS. I tracked it a lot, did a lot of mods that improves the car. Now it's stage 2 tuned, 324 WHP (265 stock wheel HP), Mountune sport springs, front and rear tower bar(strongly recommended, improve body rigidity a lot), lower arm bar, oil cooling, brake cooling kit, carbon hood, rotiform KB1, endless mx72 pads, seat lowering kit (strongly recommended, give you more confidence with a lower driving position), 200 cells downpipe, milltek catback , ford performance drift stick, and a lot more small parts. I love the experience of upgrading my RS along the way over the 4 years. Every time I put a new part on my car it just gives me a whole new driving experience. I'll keep the RS with me as long as possible, even thinking of passing the car down to my 2 year old son. Maybe i'll never be able to afford a Ferrari, but the joy brought by my RS is unrivaled. I don't envy those Ferrari dudes.
Well said!! And sounds incredible!! I love this car and 100% would be one I’d own. People that know what it is will turn their heads more for this car than for a Ferrari! It is special
265?
yes, stock wheel horsepower is 265, on mainline dyno@@COLORADO-VANLIFE
I don’t understand how you don’t have more subscribers. This review is fantastic!
Sorry for the delay! Thanks for that 🤝 We just started but really hoping more and more people get a chance to see it. Love doing it and hope to make it a career so hopefully we can do some cool stuff this year in 23
This is a very nice car. Rarely see these cars in the US.
One of my all time favourite cars!
A nice video❣.My Ford Focus RS is build 05/2018. I drive this car now at 06/2022 ca. 4 years and 52.000km later. For 31.500€. .greets from Germany
Good for you and am jealous lol. Not that often does a car come along like it!!
I am happy for you, this is my dream car.
Love my RS ❤
I bet! Just so glad they made it!!
Cant believe im picking my RS this Saturday morning 😱😎😍
Nitrous blue, shell seats, forged wheels, 1 owner, low miles, everything except the sunroof,,, great review 👍🏻,, and ive watched alot over the weeks 😁
Thanks for that! And congrats. It really is one of my favourite cars ever. Don't care if I could afford a Lambo, that RS is in my garage! Congrats and enjoy/stay out of jail lol. That thing is nuts:)
Hows it been a month later? Im seriously considering buying one of these within the next few months. Ive never been in one but i love everything about it.
Very nice. Looked like a lot of fun to drive. Guess the closest I will get to driving that would be in NFS.
Less chance of losing your license I guess lol! Thanks for commenting:)
You should have more subscribers
Thank you!
What wheels are those?? They looks so good
They're 19's! Braelin BR10'S! Agreed!
Are those 18” or 19” wheels, its a great sounding car?
They're 19's. Braelin BR10'S. And you have no idea how awesome that car was in person lol because my equipment is terrible. It literally sounded like a race car and I scared a little old lady when I turned it on lol and felt bad:)
for the first time in 2016?? what about the mk1 and mk2?
You are correct. I showed them in the monologue (love Mk2). North America only got the 2016-18. Too bad because they are awesome
Looking at 2018. Not sure if those year have the updated head gaskets
I’d do your research but if I remember I think it was with the 2016’s
2016 and some into the 2017 model year.
They fixed the head gasket, seat height and ride quality issues on the 2018's and also added an LSD standard.
Is this the ETS Extreme exhaust? Just ordered mine for my RS
Great video btw. Love my 17 RS I picked it up last summer with 20k miles
The owner provided this list of mods: AWE catless downpipe, borla atak catback, ETS intercooler, injen intake, cobb short shift, step colder plus with a custone freek tune e-tune. If what you bought sounds like this that will be crazy as this thing in person was like a legit race car for noise lol
@@Neutralreviews Thanks for the mod list good to know. Awesome video!
@@coltonconroy1384 🤝you are welcome
Nice vid, maybe slow down a bit with the explanations 😊. In the uk people are afraid to buy these saying they are not reliable and engines blow
I’m not an expert but I think I remember hear they had head gasket issues or something in the beginning but fixed most of those. Definitely read up and be careful but I’ve heard nothing but good things besides that
@@Neutralreviews yes some were fitted with mustang gasket by mistake from factory. And some also say that the open deck design makes the cylinder walls weaker, making this engine more likely to blow. I have one running 400bhp no issues so far!
@@Oilatumify one of my favourite cars of all time!! Enjoy 🙂
I need one
Don’t we all🙃 It was INCREDIBLE!
Not many know that the rear wheels of the RS are mechanically geared 1.5% higher than the front wheels. Fantastic. Oversteer on tap when the GKN Twinster engages.
Interesting!
I don't have a RS but I loooove my 2017 Focus ST got.it brand new totally worth it. In Europe there's a Mondeo ST station wagon
I’ve never driven the ST but hear it is great!
im not a fan of that exhaust or what she did with the back seat but other than that its nice
It’s funny because I always thought I wanted really loud exhaust until I drove hers lol! It was awesome but so loud you are just asking for a ticket 🤣
@Neutralreviews yeah I was sitting here listening to it ND was like nahhhhh this isn't it 😂
@@Itskyuubi23 🤣
Buddy has a red RS and just like the rest of our friends with focus rs it blew 2 pistons down the block... Now it just sits on his driveway 😅
Crazy! Sounds expensive lol
@@Neutralreviews yeah a new engine is no fun and is very commun apparently.
@@THEFIFTHDIMENTION Good to know! Too bad, because it is such a fun car to push.
Man that sound..💀 i love the mangoose and omnitrix
Right lol!! It was crazy in real life
Car falling apart sounds weird to me 😅 Maybe mexican made rs has worse quality than german made 🤷♂️
Ha! I think many new Golf R owners were happy to find out it being built elsewhere
All of the RS's were manufactured in the Sarlouis plant in Germany, as have all of the RS's in the past!
My 2017 with 62k miles has been solid with no issues. Well, except for the head gasket replacement.
Not the engine from the mustang.
You are correct but generally it is their 2.3L EcoBoost engine shared with the Mustang but with a different turbocharger, intake system, larger exhaust system and larger radiator. It also revs higher.
stock tail lights *vomit*
🤣
Manual only..? Wrong. They did an auto aswell.
What year and country because in North America we only got the manual as far as I know. And what auto did they put in it?
Sounds like bunk, feels like bunk. Speed isn't everything.
It was so loud I actually scared onlookers lol.
Dont review modified vehicles.
I prefer not to. In this case it was hard to source a stock RS.
Those wheels are terrible
I always was a fan of how the originals looked. I don't know a lot about the after market to know if they perform well. Still happy Ford brought it here!
Just had to put the cheap ass stinky 🌲 tree in it! 🦨
