- Peel and stick wallpaper cannot go over texture. There’s actually a scientific reason and it’s pretty basic as to the reason why. Watch this video to find out.

If you buy the brick or stone patterned wallpaper like I do, these texture or "bumps" through the vinyl will only add onto it and make your wallpaper look that much more awesome and realistic.
For normal non-brick/stone wallpaper, I use Elmer's glue along the edges. No bumps and it ain't ever coming off. But should I need to peel it off, it comes off with ease and no peeled paint.
How has your brick pattern held up I’m getting ready to hang it on my walls any tips or advice? Thank you 😊
“Let’s point out issues #1…. UGLY.” That made me giggle. Thanks for making this! I have textured walls and people keep saying I can’t do peel & stick. I didn’t understand why until this video. Thanks!

I did just an arch decal, but not a full wall.
@@NaturallyDOPE0990 You are so kind to have sent that video over. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this video!
Hey what about putting foam core boards over my very spikey textured walls?. I was thinking to mail the foam boards over the textured walls then put the peel n stick wallpaper over that smooth surface.
Have ever done that instead of having to skim coat? Any pitfalls to watch out for? Thank you!
thanks for the explanation. how about water activated paper and knockdown walls?
Great VIDEO: Now, by chance do you have a video on plastering a wall?
Can I apply a liner paper layer over my textured walls and then use peel and stick? Or would it make little difference?
Love the video man thanks so much 🤙
what do you suggest for renters who want to use peel and stick on a knockdown texture but not totally change the wall
I’m going thru this now. I bought joint compound and rolled it on then took a scraper and spread it out to make the walls even. I’m not using peel and stick wallpaper. I saw someone recommended putting up a water diluted wallpaper paste over the walls before doing the wallpaper because when the joint compound dries it will soak up the wallpaper glue I use to hang the paper. Is that necessary in your opinion? Ready to be done with this job 🤪🤪
Can you use the starch and fabric method? I am a renter with textured walls.
what if the wall is knockdown texture? would it hold up a little better?
How about concrete walls? Can peel and stick work on it?
Do I need to put anything else between the sim coat and the wallpaper?
I saw your other video about wallpaper, but I assume the paint protection applies to traditional wallpaper
You need to size the wall after skim coat: roman rx 35. Or Shieldz wallpaper prep
Hey Tamir, can I set you up with a friend of mine
What about a knockdown? We have it but it’s spread out.
I have an old home and the walls I want to wallpaper are linolium. How do I prepare the walls so the wallpaper will stick?
Hello Noreen…..
You have not indicated if you removed the linoleum; it’s a little hard to believe that you have linoleum on your walls, however… If, in fact, you do, rip it off, and then no matter what your wall looks like, Apply GARDZ from Zinzer
Then you are going to have to make the walls flat by applying joint compound in a process called Skimcoat… Apply as many layers as necessary to make it flat then reapply GARDZ and then you will be good
Is there anyway to salvage the peel n stick after it’s fallen down off the wall? Can you use a glue?
Absolutely! As long as there’s no “gunk” on the peel n stick.
You could use thumbtacks! That's what I did
What if you use a heat gun and a sponge? I’m thinking that you could make the wallpaper more malleable much like vinyl wrapping your car.
Great idea. Doesn’t stand up to heat well. Quickly melts.
I have a light orange peel texture on my wall....not the really bumpy texture as shown in your video. There is really nothing to "knock off" the wall. How about prepping? is there something to clean the walls with before hanging the peel and stick wallpaper? My wall is freshly painted.
I have the same walls. Did it ever work for you ?
@@lovekicks6764 yes, worked great!
Can I use peel and stick on matte finish painted walls??
Absolutely. Prime first however. Don’t put directly on it. Get shieldz clear.
I just bought a bunch of backsplash and now I see that I cannot use it on my kitchen because the wall has texture. What should I do ?
Do a “level 5” with joint compound,,prime with Gardz, and hang your material.
Are you familiar with peel and stick backsplash? I’ve never seen it in person, and hear mixed things.
Yes!!
@@spencercolgan does it look real/dimensional?
@@Avital4414 yes it does
@@spencercolgan can peel and stick backsplash tiles be used on textured wall ?
@@mahaignas1655 Absolutely not
He is killing me with the suspense.
I should have seen this before I brought thw stick and peel
Would you need to put a primer on before the skim coat?
No sir.
Can I sand the wall instead of applying plaster?
It’s a great question but it’s also evidence that in your kind heart, you have never done that before.
You cannot stand down something like that; theoretically of course you could but you would make a mess; what you doing this cases you fill in that surface by applying a coat of plaster once, let it dry and then do it again then let that dry and lightly sand it until it is smooth
@@spencercolgan thank you for the response! And you are correct that I have not done this before. I'm just a mom with a vision 🤣
Heat gun
Genius, I was thinking of putting a smooth layer in between (poster board) for my rental. Not a whole wall just a accent piece
Heat gun may help sticking the wall paper but it won’t give a good flat look on those walls.
