    Sharp Fangs Behind the Leaves is an extremely powerful spirit.
    But also a very unforgiving spirit. You really need to get the innate 'Ranging Hunt' every single turn to get the most out of it.
    As a beasts spirit it does have a bit more chaos to it with the events either making you devastating or fizzle out but this spirit excels at the early game. If you prevent the right explores and builds your board will almost also be the first clean island tile.
    Juggling the (Pick Two) growth option is also very important. That and understanding the critical moments to transform a presence into a beast or moving your presence with beasts.
    You're on slim margins, if you make mistakes early you quickly fall behind - but easily one of the best spirits in the early game.

    • @mbalazs3544
      @mbalazs3544 Před 2 lety +2

      I would say Lightning and Thunder speaker are way more powerful in the early game cleaning out their inner board. I also feel some of the Fangs cards should be powerful, Shadow can pick up explorers from its ability, but the main fast card only blocks a build instead destroying the explorer entirely (that is what is on the picture) and it costs one energy, true it can do it form its ability, but i think the card should do this. Its 0 slow power kills one exporter. The reining 2 cards are bout push, so it rely on its ability to destroy houses. Green dos this way better, it counter buildings from presents sacrifice, and deals more damage to buildings without cost of "Beast's" Sharp fans is a okay spirit but at best avarige, with a limited late game.

    WOW. There are so much disparities between what you think and what I think. SO MUCH. Keeper is major apocalyptic, Sharp Fangs is at least supernatural maybe hand of god. Downpour is extremely powerful (repeating rain of blood 4 times for example is amazing). Trickster is one of the most powerful (6 level adversaries win without a single blight added by ravage). Vital Strength I usually don’t get. Much lower for me. Lightning is the same. And more. But a great vid.

    • @arkady7685
      @arkady7685 Před 2 lety +2

      Downpour is the best and is more consistent thanks to his ability to repeat free minor powers so easily (which can basically turn it into a major power de facto :D). It's very interesting to see that the many spirit ranking videos show so many differences!

    I completely agree with you for Many minds and Thunderspeaker, but I think I see a pattern; Downpour and Sharp Fangs are spirits that use minor powers almost exclusively by design... They aren't weak; Downpour is a monster when you repeat Fear powers 2, 3, 4 times! At some point I even thought I had made a mistake when playing with Downpour, but nope, it's a spirit that can be powerful without major powers!

  • @Kentchangar

    In my opinion:
    1. Sharp Fangs should be force of nature. But you need to turn your presence into Beast agressively
    2. Shadows and Stone are Natural disasters, but better with Aspects
    3. Downpour is Apocalyptic or Hand of God
    4. Shifting Memory should be Pooka since he's so swingy depending on the luck of Majors.
    5. Vengeance is a disaster for me, maybe Pooka
    6. And Keeper is Apocalyptic, probably the strongest spirit besides Green

    • @mbalazs3544
      @mbalazs3544 Před 2 lety +2

      Shifting Memory is one oft he most powerful spirits of the game, sooner or later a good power comes up, its the only spirit in the game that can bring out the full power of a card, can block/stall with one card and its ability and build or support with the other. I had a test run with Vital strength as duo expecting one of them will be better or feel better but to decide which slow guy is better, they actually worked well together. It was l sow and long Lv2 game but fun and fulfilling. Ages with the right pair, River or Lightning was brutal smack down of invaders. With the right pair his support shines, and stalls to build up like Vital. When you experience in a game an amplified Tsunami, than you can trow out every turn you earn what power is in this game :D That ages in a nutshell. I would not deny him from Apocalipse but strongly hand of god.

(they are alike) Is there really any spirit that beats level 6 adversary without luck?:D Something is bound to come up. Thing is with ages if you don't draw a good card you can give particles to someone where dos and over charge that spell to break the game, or some don't even need it. Ages&Lightning a team I made 5 arias fast phase exterminated with Lightning That is record in wide destruction i doubt i ever do again, Ages made it possible. Ages is also a first time I ever encountered in ANY game (and i played a lot) that is flat power destroy character that dos good sport for literally free (his defense is from rock that comes from its sport cards) that is just flat out broken. • @mbalazs3544
      @mbalazs3544 Před 2 lety +2

      @@Kentchangar Thunderspeaker is top level. If you say so I belelve you had no bad experience with her. Still as powerful she is (4th on my list) she has risks things go bad especial with more people (Dahans die out), and has the weakness vs buffed military, not to mention conversion (Sweden) if unlucky she can't make more Dahan that she relies on. With skilled ally's she is apocalypse, but same goes for ages. I don't consider Ages more powerful than TS by any means. (Both are apocalypses level TS much more easily)
      Haven't scene a struggles good LP on keeper, but from its card's+ability's looks like a Green&Vital fusion to me. Keeper Is the last of those power player spirits (Ages,Vital,Keeper) I haven't got into enough yet so i cant debate it well:D. He indeed has damage potential built in but that needs a build up, he cant have Dahan on spirits sights to defend. From what i see he is slow too. I feel to beat adversary even on 3-4 (max i played so far for I'm no masochist) One kinda needs 5-8 damage at a point in the game. (Easy for Thunder speaker) I don't see that is keeper but if you say so I belíve you. I don't debate Keeper cant be apocalypses level. But i don't see how he wont struggle to get there like the other 2 power players (Ages,Vita)
      Ages can with ease spam Tsunami every turn amplified if he gets it that's a damage potential no other character can do in the game. (if not Tsunami other power house cards) It dos not need to be perfect hence its ability to amplify anything. (Pillar of living Flame,Cleansing Flood,Rust and Atrophy,Indomitable Claim, Talons of lightning, Warp in wings, Vigor of dawn ) 5 turns he can get 20 draw that bound to have something good.
      I haven expandered unlucky with him yet. I just feel that the risk with ages worth the immanence reword of over charge-ing ANYONE'S ability or cards (someone is bound to draw a good card) spell or ability for a win. Or just add Lighting,to the team that there is no such risk. That's Apocalypses enough for me.

    Like your video and your arguments and most ratings but you underestimated River.
    He is clearly Apocalypse,
    He is one of the very few spirits who can trigger the strongest ability just with the starting hand. He steamrolls almost every scenario.
    Can control und multiply Dahan, can control Invaders, and can cause endless damage. I played more than 100 games with River and have the highest win rate. Get a defense card and you cannot loose…
    At least he ended in hand of god 😁
    Oh and even if sharp fangs is difficult to understand - once it clicks he is super strong! Only weakness: You need to find a way to remove blight…
    My win ratio in the app version: 84 wins 4 losses…

  • @optimusprim0
    @optimusprim0 Před 2 lety +1

    Fangs is certainly not apocalyptic but is useful, offensive and very fun. I play more true solo which skews my experience but he can handle France 6 and Brandenburg 6 alone. You have to start destroying your presence early and often. Mid game you should go to 3-4 presence early you should maintain 2-3 presence. And he benefits the whole group from his fear generation. His only limiting factor is having some difficulty dealing with blighted lands, but you can plan you terrifying chase there with minimal effort. Half the minor deck contains useful cards for his innates. Play him and destroy presence most turns, three strong growing directions, rushing to reclaim one then 4 plays and 5 plays reclaim 2. Largely placing presence and and gaining minors. Or rush to 2 energy making ranging hunt more flexible. Turning you presence into beasts either way. You can do damage with ranging hunt from turn 2 going forward with little exception and with need little help one energy. 3rd favorite option for me gain card/place presence (plays track), gain energy/place presence (plays track) make sure you have 3 animal and 2 plant turn 2 for an attacking ranging hunt, reclaim place presence. 3rd is most consistent, subverts unlucky power draws and probably the best opening to learn to play fangs effectively. The heavy plays card gain is more aggressive and can leave it tricky to afford the 1 cost reclaim.
    Grabbing a mid game major or near early on is a legit tactic if you can afford to pass on presence placement and gain a card and do the energy growth.
    Unless they’re perfect elements or solve a big problem, he’s tricky to target sacred sites.
    Presence place at far range in any jungle, with up to 5 plays and a lot of card gains means you can paratrooper in, play a card and on a later turn decide to give that board an extra beast if you would like.
    I liked the video and don’t agree on a few picks but it’s all highly subjective… except Fangs ;)

    I'd put Serpent as Apocalyptic. If you have other players ramping the Serpent up and can reach the late game with it, it has a ridiculous power ceiling. Also, the defend 2 + track is one of the best cards in the game for defense. Similarly, giving other players an energy of there choice for a presence can be game changing, and some spirits don't rely heavily on presence and/or have an excess of them on the board. The innate powers of the serpent also really ramp up, and they're given to teammates too so they greatly boost everyone's progression if played right

  • @josecarlospereiramacedo2318

    River is the best spirit in the base game, every type of composition for 3p, 4p he can fit into and perform well, hes just supersolid, its not like he carry the game by himself, but he can suport any other spirit in the game, lightning is hand of god when he have suport, and the serpent is absolute broken in 3p,4p games, his ability to defend in AoE is soo OP!!! In 2p he sucks yes, but 3p,4p hes apocaliptic for sure

      I have yet to play a 5p or 6p game. But when I do I would like to give Serpent another try. I didn't enjoy him much at the 3p count, and only played 1 four player game with him. Since he/she's a force multiplier style gameplay, I'd imagine it being a blast to play with 6 players

    1:26 What do you think about the Aspects for Shadows Flicker Like Flame?
    Ever since I have used the Foreboding Aspect and the Madness Aspect, Shadows has actually been really good.
    Foreboding lets you use any Fear card to push everything out of lands and generate even more Fear.
    Madness gives you some control with Strife when placing presence and more Fear if your presence is Destroyed in Ravages.
    It massively buffs Shadows to keep up with Adversaries.

    Sharp fangs a dud???? 😱 😱 😱 Maybe you play at a harder difficulty than I do and it doesn't perform as well against some high level adversaries, but I love Fangs! That spirit has tremendous mobility, it can prevent so many things from the start; I end up having quarantined the coast in many games. If you like major powers, you won't see much of that with Fangs, but you'll definitely be an asset to the team by how much you prevent initial invader development!

    With Starlight, you can do so much with it, that I find it best to develop a few strategies before you even sit down to play. It definitely makes it easy to do all the adversaries if you know which way to grow that counters that specific adversary.
    Stone is a very strong offensive/defensive spirits. Definitely top 10.

    Thunderspeaker is considered top 5 definitely.
    Serpent requires a lot of practice but is also really, really strong throughout the entire game.
    Always go bottom track on Wildfire and use its innates.
    Fangs requires incredibly aggressive plays and always switching out your presence to make it work. It is very easy to not be good with it.

(no spirit gains so much from one upgrade) in this case 3 times 2 energy (max 6) or 3 Times 1 time counter (3 time), one sun for the round, and you can move one of your presence. (ages gets 9 energy as a grow, Time with 1 card +6 energy that alone worth more than what the most power gainer spirit gets in a turn)
    29:19 NOP He can create 2 Dahan's with a card, Remus Blight, Make another spirit or him return a card to his hand, play it and make it in the fast phase in one turn :D in the game meaning anyone can play any card in the fast phase like Tsunami :D and from his 6 energy gain he has the power to do so. He is the only spirit that can make anyone play more cards than they can:D Than return any card after plays to the owners hand ? After wood he is the most powerful support in the game.
    29:19 NOP Not insightful :D? he can check the next explorer card :D and even change it, he can put Phase 1 cards swap them to phase 2 cards or do that to phase 3 cards swamping them to phase 2 cards or even do it 2 times :D because he can replay things :D it needs build up but he can make phase 1 card happen in phase 3 :D
    29:26 so that everyone can have an easy time in Phase 2 and 3 like its phase 1 making adversary ability oblesleet :D that is why :D

    28:20 ahh my second favorite after lightning :D well i downloaded bit buffed / fixed version but one max energy cant be that huge difference :D (still S level :D he dos everything I like in my top 4 spirits, lightning just destroy so much better XD)
    The only spirit that can generate 2 Dahan with one spell and send them to battle like meat bags they are XD ahh yes it turns the user antant Dahan social XDD (well when you have infinite army you don's care if thy die, and if you can generate army and remove blight not even pollution is a thing :D) He also can stall infinitely :D while sutporting other military spirits with an army :D

    Shadow Flicker like fire : how to fix it. Add a custom card that stabilizes its early game. hawing the flowing things:
    Card "Where Shadows live" 1 energy cost, 1 moon, fast, 0 range (worth his ability he can hit anywhere where are Dahan)
    - Push 2 invaders, Generate 1 fear, put down a presence from your board,than forget this power.
    Its one time play effect but it fixes shadow grates flaw of his reach without looseness his combo or fear engine. With this he become a fun LV2 beater spirit I would range it now Supernatural. Originally he was unplayable, and sadly one of the coolest looking beginner luring strips that almost made some my friends hate the game for good. It needed this fix.

      You should play with Foreboding Aspect. It massively buffs Shadows.

    I mostly agree with our One Pip Wonder…but…Lure? That is the one time in the marriage that you must admit Daniel was right! Very powerful.
    I also don’t see how you both did not like Sharp Fangs but heaped praises on Many Minds. I expected them both to go similarly due to no event play. One of these days you might want to try a 2 player Fangs + Many Minds game, one of the strongest combos.

      I maybe wrong, but I still wont play Lure 😆 We played Fangs and Many Minds recently and it kind of sealed the deal for us. Felt like Fangs was holding us back, he totally pooped out midgame and left Many Minds hanging. That's how it worked out for us, but I am sure I could learn a lot from seeing others play him.

      @@onepipwonder915 Totally understand :) Sharp Fangs is really boosted by events because they often activate beasts, so I think the lower rating there makes a lot of sense too. But Lure is my biggest point of difference. He is like Oceans, except has 5 lands instead of 3 and a better Energy/Presence track. The thing is you have to trigger the innate Forsake consistently though, and Never Heard From consistently after the first couple of turns. Totally understand it not being your jam though!
      One day I will create my list and be sure to share it with you (over on FB since I can’t really on here)!

    I paired Sharp Fangs Behind the Leaves with Many Minds Move as One in a two-Spirit game. What an incredible combo - they play off each other well. I never added a major power for Sharp Fangs. Just used its maximum innate ability Ranging Hunt (all three: Gather, Damage, Push) turn after turn. And working in tandem with Many Minds innate ability to gather beasts (The Teeming Host Arrives) and the Fact that Many Minds Sacred Site counts as as Beast.
    This duo just obliterated the adversaries.
