I bought one of those German (actually W. German) wooden scrub planes about 40 years ago on a lark. It's a fun tool to use but I rarely use it for it's intended purpose. I've always liked to make outdoor and rustic furniture, and it's great for putting a "hand hewn" surface on things. It's a blast to use, but I really should touch up the edge more often.
Very cool!
