*giggle* I think if sir "I just got roasted by Seasmoke" had been taught the song of the dragon's he may have had a better chance. He wasn't singing, he was just cowering in his bravery....I think a dragon needs a rider that matches her prowess....I think sesmoke has seen battle with Lord Lanor many times....she needed a rider to match that......that's why she chose a rider of her own.
Seasmoke was like "nah fam, I'll pick my own rider thank you very much" 😂

This was a great episode. Alicent talking to Gwayne, Rhaenerya talking to Mysaria, Daemon and Alys, Daemon and Viserys, Aemond with Aegon, Aemond with the Small Council...these scenes ruled so hard

As a book reader, I'm all for Laenor still being alive, and Seasmoke choosing Addam as a new rider. Laenor abandoned him, and Seasmoke at least chose his half brother. Not just some random person. Makes perfect sense to me.
Sheepstealer picked a random person in the books (nettles). Seasmoke always picked Addam. Honestly, I'd be okay if they changed Sheepstealers' rider to Alyn... makes more sense...
Jace hilt watch was off the charts
I think the belief that those who don’t want power are the best to hold it, is more about how much they realize the drawbacks, and sacrifices, and how hard it is. There is not a doubt of confidence, just that they realize what is required to the job correctly, and “They don’t want it”

I'm with Mel on loving this episode because of the intimacy of the private conversations. I had just told my sister who watches with me that I missed the dialogue and conversations from GOT that seemed to be missing in this season of HOTD.

a friend just texted me this -- not sure if it's true.... "The sticks the dragon pit guys use have two prongs at the end because that’s what your guides on Komodo Island use to keep the Komodo dragons away if they need to. The pronged ends mimic a Komodo dragons tongue and it freaks them out."

The more I get to know about Alys the more she starts to become one of my favorite characters. I believe that she is a divine counselor who is wayyy more knowledgeable than others take her for. She’s this humble figure who is almost invisible to others and blends in the shadows of the castle. However she is in some way an all seeing agent who has possibly known of Daemon through the underground web of Weirwood trees. So maybe she’s known Daemon for a very long time even before he met her. Which is why she has so many specific details of his past. I don’t think she’s in it to hurt him or hinder him. But In a way help him grow as a person in a crash course of therapy. I think her end game is really helping unify and mend the realm even if she needs to help Daemon in the ways she can. I think she helped Daemon understand that ruling with an iron fist isn’t going to get him far, he needs to be well rounded in order to be respected and fear alone isn’t going to gain him loyalty among the river men

Allyson told Damon (I'm paraphrasing) that he was a moving piece and she is a moving piece on the board. She must know about The Prince that was Promised and the blacks must come out on top. I believe that is the reason for Allyson helping Damon.
Why does the new phrase “it’s coded like …” bug me so much?
It can be a crutch and stand in for more fully formed ideas….maybe. Plus I don’t always know the thing people say something is coded as, tend to be references that are not always common knowledge

This episode did not disappoint 😊I didn't see the ending coming but it was a pleasure to see a sense of loyalty that will bloom between the Queen and Mysaria since Daemon went lost in his guilty subconscious chasing power in harrenhal. I wasn't sure of Mysaria's intentions at first , thinking she was more geared to serve her own interest and could give a rats ass who falls or rises. Mysaria is properly advising the queen; as I felt in the last episode she is an excellent stand in for the Princess Rhaenys as an advisor to the queen for both the people of king's landing and the overly ambitious reckless sons of house green. Rhaenys might not have been as good advising on the people being a privileged princess way above the poverty line. And the long lost Targaryen that was dismissed by seasmoke, well....I guess she mirrored my sentiment ....grandmothers, grandmothers.....I'm just thinking....really nigga's.....you couldnt find a closer bloodline.....madam dragon seasmoke say's "try again".....no fuck that I will find a rider my damn self *giggle*.....have several seats. ANYWAY, this episode has me looking forward to the next one........but I still I want that "can't wait for the next episode" feeling......i'm just sayin
I love almost everthing from this episode. Except the fact that they are doing a major change to the Rheana plot from the book. And the outcome of this will definitely pissed off a lot of readers myself included. Because it means the potential of a really cool character from the book will be without a doubt cut from the show !! 😤

Adaptations have to merge characters because in GRRM's world there are too many characters to hire actors for. I get why they changed this tbh.

I like the idea that the book is one story and the show is another story..... full of creative , imaginative writers that can see a different outcome from the novel......i'm just sayin from the viewers perspective.
But leaving out critical characters is another issue. And I’m sure GoT did the same but have not read those yet. Having read F&B, I am fighting against being disappointed. Different versions I am fine with.

When you become a popular enough fan review that show runners start to participate in interviews and guest spots, so you go really easy on them and don't give any critique, only praise... 😬

Was anyone else confused by the ending. They played it like "oh shit the Queen is about to throw down with Seasmoke, who may have been taken by a Hightower", but we already know that's not the case. What were we supposed to be hyped about with her flying off?

You’re right though. It’s a poorly constructed final shot, since the fact that we know robs her actions of a lot of meaning and importance.

I would love if just one time when there are dragon “tamers” and a dragon and the trainers want the dragon to do or not do something, I would love to hear them calling him “Sir” whenever he begins to act up.

The best of GoT was conversations in rooms, in storytelling. There’s plenty you can go watch if all you want is sex and CGI.
Season 2 is such a backslide in terms of plot progression and inclusion of separate factions.
We've been stuck on 3 plotlines at 3 locations for 6 episodes and it's been the same shit.
Rhaenrya on Dragonstone being mad at the men around her.
Alicent in Kingslanding being mad at the men around her.
Daemon at Harrenhal being mad at himself
This season has been such a dissapointment and butchering of the source material.
I really wish more people were willing to talk about the biased storytelling with the Women in this series.
Alicent is one of the most frustratingly incompetent characters ive ever seen and Rhaenrya's arc has been treated with Kids gloves and has ignored all of her flaws.
And dont even get me started on how they handwaived Rhaenys's murdering of the civilians in the Dragonpit.
I really wanted to see the relationship of Aemond and Aegon but nope.
I wanted to see some more development on Criston cole as a character but nope.
And i really wanted to see Corlys Velaryon grow but nope
they've treated the women in the series with kids gloves and have pushed all the evil onto the men.
Alicent wasn't the one who plotted to put her son on the throne,all the men Around her wanted it and she's innocent.
Rhaenrya isn't a flawed person with habit of creating enemies out of friends or raised as spoiled princess all her life or force herself on Criston cole,all the men around her just don't like her cuz she's a woman
And rhaenys murdering the Civilians in the dragonpit was a girlboss move.
That's this section of the Dance: Rhaenyra is not doing much and Daemon is at Harrenhal for almost a year gathering an army. It's not backsliding if you are unable to get much out of the show that might have more to do with you than with the show tbh.
The relationship between Aegon and Aemond has been one of the foremost plots of the season.
Criston Cole has been developed further this season.
Corlys is like 70 years old, he is who he is.
It seems like you’re not watching the show.
The worst part of this is rant is you know claim to be a fan of the books but know don't know that daemon and rhynaera does nothing for this part of the conflict.
Its funny because every character has had development this season if only you have eyes to watch. The only one I can agree with is rhynaera and if you claim to be a book fan you should know where this is going.
This was the worst episode in any season of GoT. So cheesy writing, very predictable. Hope e7 brings it back.

Rings of Power was not nearly as bad as people pretend it was. It was mediocre. It was not terrible. As a value prop based on how much it cost, yeah, it was bad, but it had some good moments. Same with The Acolyte.
I enjoyed the episode except for Daemon. His storyline is not keeping my attention. I also liked this episode of the pod. They weren’t as giggly and loud which made it easier to watch.

I thought this was the worst episode some of these storylines are kind of cheesy predictable. Feels like the writing has gone down hill a fair bit. Mysaria character is really out of place and the accent is bad.
Ok listen.........I find it most curious that you guys are referring to Seasmoke with male pronouns........think about this truth.......all dragons are females........SINCE WHEN HAS ANYTHING MALE LAID AN EGG. ?????? Since when has anything male had the capacity to carry a whole other BEING in their body period........they dont have the space, none of the pelvic diameter....... the feminine is the full embodiment of life and the male/masculine is just an aspect of the feminine so that we may observe that which is in ourselves.........why do you think men who cant produce sperm feel useless, shamed, depressed???? Why do you think a man would rather die than live without his penis ????? They dont have their womb and they desire that which they have been striped of in order to observe the masculine aspect of themselves.......All dragons are females.......... i'm just sayin.........somebody prove me wrong, yes?

Keep in mind that the only argument of these we hear of in the main series is that of Maester Aemon in AFFC. The rest of them are all from The World of Ice and Fire, which most will never read.
