Star Wars has become so much of a joke and needs to go away
Most unrealistic part was qimir not worrying about shrinkage when coming out of those cold waters
Mallory's Viserys impersonation is DEF my fave lololol
I’m totally rooting for Qmir/The Stranger.
Idk. I thought it was the best episode of the series by far. One thing it did very well, was point out how completely silly wars typically are. Something extremely relevant in the real world. Not even sure the original GOT ever had that kind of relatable story telling.
For the algorithm!
What's that you're suggesting? A power hungry politician with antipathy towards the Jedi? He's played by a British actor? And all the while, there's a second Sith lurking unseen in the background? I very much doubt they'll be one and the same...
"What if we cover every square inch of your body in costume, restricting the expression in one of your character's most impactful scenes to just your face?" Emma: *Hold my negroni*
The Boys is too real because it appears we’re going to have a right wing coup in the US sooner or later. Acolyte took too long to give us Darth Groomer. Van is a Verbose Ass 🥷🏾 aka V.A.N.
I’m pretty confident that if The Acolyte sticks the landing, it will end up as one of the best things to happen in Star Wars next only to Andor. It’s brilliant on its own right and a breeze of fresh air that the franchise actually needed. It’s certainly the most fun I’ve had with Star Wars sincerely since the prequels. Love Mando, Andor is absolutely brilliant but The Acolyte is delivering on things that the franchise needed for decades and I think that very much like Empire Strikes Back, time will be kind with this one.
5:10 Mal breaking into crazy laugh FROM THE JUMP with seemingly no provocation whatsoever. Her joy is contagious!!
Your TOP 9 Qimir Seductions were so good!! Btw, I just listened to The Watch pod with Chris and Andy. I hope Andy Greenwald would eat his own words after watching The Bear S3E6. LOL
Every clip i see makes it worse and worse.
Of course if it was the guy watching osha take a bath & confront her while she’s still naked, this show, disney would be canceled immediately & this podcast would have been non stop trashing how disgusting this was but instead its just a big joke how fun all this is. 🤮
Dude, it's a TV show. Relax.
Why did it take 7 plus minutes to get to the actual pod? Omg so many plugs.
midnight boys JUSTSTOP! DISNEY SAID THIS IS A "KID SHOW"madefor children AND NAKED MAN AND A WOMEN LOOKING AT HIS JUNK AND YOUR COOL WITH IT! "STOP PODCASTING"! you have no place on any platform
The Boys is a wild show, but it like a set up season to a bigger series finale last season.
Poor Jecki, Qimir literally killed her and stole her girl
Qimir leaves out the "what you bring with you" wisdom part. I think it's because he wants Osha to identify with the fear/hate she finds there. Whereas, Yoda encourages Luke to understand he will see things he is carrying with him, but it's not what he is. In the words of WBW Anakin, "because he's more than that."
And then the payoff in RotJ after seeing his face in the Vader mask in ESB. He chops off Vader's hand and looks at his own and finally realizes the lesson of the cave: If he kills his father, he'll become him. Yoda tells him he doesn't need his weapon in ESB. Luke throws his saber down and tells Palpatine he failed. He's a Jedi now and that is the catalyst that gets Ani to save Luke. It's flawless.
Qimir straight up says "So it's just you and the Force. and what you bring with you." your point is incorrect.
@@EJ_Crough you're right. Dang I got to rework this analogy. Lol
Okay but #1 goes crazy
Thanks for making me laugh y’all lmao 😂 can’t wait to see you guys at the live show soon!
Seems like they’re trying so hard not to say anything negative about the show.
The Kool-Aid must be mighty tasty. But truly if they don't really like something, they just won't pod about it. {See the utter silence on the new Dr. Who}
Quimir presented himself as a needy nerd to Mae. He presented himself as a self-sufficient powerful and inventive force capable being. Which one is his true character? Mae tried to use him to get her revenge plan accomplished while, Osha is trying to figure him out, his power, his Jedi connection and his fall from the order. He is manipulating them into joining his renegade order of one. Mae was at the step where she was to kill someone without a weapon. Quimir is at the step where he is to recruit a force sensitive being. Who is the Acolyte????
can't believe no one mentioned Aayla Secura or (Clone Wars) Bariss Offee among the sexy Jedi. honorable mention to Dr. Rig Nema.
Still unclear to me what the basic plot of this show is
Missed opportunity to call Qimir’s cave a “budhole”
When Sol reached out to hug who he thought was Osha, he felt the lack of force and knew for sure that it was Mae. Mae never hugged him back, she didn't know how to react to Sol's emotion.
I love Van, but if this is gonna be a video project now, then he’s gotta get off the phone in the middle of the podcast. It makes it seem like he doesn’t care or isn’t interested.
The p√nk in the brown shirt opinions are trash!!!
My most anticipated review lol really enjoyed the last two episodes. Manny Jacinto is killin it
Like they rap3d HUEY????
They just didn’t talk about Huey getting rape d???
Like Reva in the Kenobi series, it would be better (for the audience) to know what Sol/Mae are hiding or reacting to. More often than not, hiding details (to have a twist or reveal) inhibits our ability to understand the characters' choices in real-time.
This show probably had enough material for four one hour episodes, at best. Setting aside the quality of the material, this show has been horribly paced and structured. It really feels like amateur hour in that department.
And they waste what time they have. 10% of this episode is Osha waking up in the cave. 3+ minutes of a 31 minute runtime are spent with a character waking up (a trope they've used far too often). 10%?!
I feel like pacing has been an issue with multiple Disney+ series, but the problems here seem so pronounced that anyone involved in the production had to realize it needed more time in the oven. I don't understand how this keeps happening, lol
Agree. 4 episodes feels right.
Pacing of THE ACOLYTE drives me bonkers. I don't advocate for binge-watching, but MAN Disney shoulda just dumped this puppy in one fell swoop 😑
Disney afraid to show us some sith cheeks.
Best pod😂
Acolyte is not a good show lol wtf yall talking about? Where did 180 mil go to? Not to the writers… we have 40-45 mins left and nothings happened. Andor had some good writers. Even Ashoka kills this show. This is horrible.
That's really dope Steve's mom!!
Osha: "I mean, you just killed two of my friends, but I'd love to hear your traveling Sith Semantics Guidebook sales pitch." Rey: "I mean, you killed your dad, my friend in front of me after torturing and kidnapping me, oh yeah and maimed my friend...wanna make out?" So yeah, the ReyLos are feasting Jo.
If you guys ever have any slow content weeks/months, I would love to see you do a retrospective review of the Star Wars movies
Just a guy chilling with his girl in a crevice. When Mae replied to Sol “ I’ve always been like that” it implies that while erasing Pip she knew Osha loved him and that she cares little about what Osha actually wants and loves. She only cares that they were supposed to be together for ever. This is also the moment Sol realized it was Mae. Up to that point he was blinded by his emotions and truly hadn’t listened to her words and focused on her
Let's go horny babies!
Great insights and excellent command of the material. But please, please stop with the constant and unnecessary laughing at your own jokes. Makes it very difficult to listen to. Thanks.
I believe this show(Acolyte) will be better watched as a binge. They gotta fix the way they divide these shows up into episodes. Either binge drop all of them, or do a better job in the release plan.
Exactly what I’m waiting for. I’m a casual SW fan so I don’t care about the spoilers
Van, put that phone away 🤦🏾♂️😂
Yesss
Van almost dropped the “it’s my show” on them. I’m dying
wassup with the quality?
Agree with Steve here at end about the Acolyte. The mystery of who killed the witches is not the most interesting part of the show. I think the show has always been about the fall of the Jedi to the dark side. I think by the end we will see a few Jedi fall.
No word about 120 hostages Charles? Hypocrite
