    I have hypothyroidism and low on vitamin D. Vitamin D took me a long time to treat it because the doctor didn’t help me to chose te right dose until years later and never knew how important it is to have a stable vitamin D.
    When I was at my best consistency, I was at my worst stress of my life. Now that my life is more stable I couldn’t stay consistently. I would stay active for months and stop for a few months, until I got an early shift job. I got into the gym and then a little before covid hit I joined a program. I have bought my weights and have stayed consistently. There is days I am so tired. Having both vitamin D and thyroid issues at the same time gives me no energy. I push through. I am trying to work on my cardio.my goal is 30 min every day of walks and if I can’t, I make sure I hit my weightlifting three times a week no matter what. My diet isn’t great. But listening to this about taking one thing off at a time and it still a goal reach is actually making me feel better to change it to that. It’s better to try slowly then nothing at all. Thanks guys! Made my morning.

So much so that I have found myself thinking that I NEED to hate myself to make a change! Although inside, I know this attitude doesn't feel right.

It took me 10 yrs to get to 100lb loss - which was this year actually! (I fluctuated down 10lbs a year. Originally 230lbs) consistency was always key for me and just always learning and listening to my body as it changed. you have to know WHY you're doing these things for yourself and when you understand nutrition and exercise and the purpose of it all you can become unstoppable! Use knowledge as your fuel - keep spreading it guys❤️

    One thing I would emphasize more is when you guys made the comparison to how we approach gaining other skills in life e.g Math or whatever.. Just like with those things, we need to educate ourselves. Watch some of these videos or read some books. A solid understanding of these things was a real game changer for me personally. This way when you're deciding to skip training or whether or not to eat the pizza, you're making a well-informed decision.

Then I lost 40 lbs. My confidence was increasing and I became more focused. Then I said 20 more lbs and I met that. Then 20 more. Then 20 more. Excellent content again! I can relate to the discipline aspect of getting healthier. I’ve gone from almost 270 pounds to 190 ish in a year and a half. I did it slowly and sustainably...started with changing my diet.,,got used to that...felt better...added some cardio (family has history of heart disease)...and then the game changer!!!...started lifting weights...wow...that’s when it got really fun! Before finding you guys I thought I’d be stuck at 1800-2000 calories daily (I’m about 5’10”). Now my maintenance is over 3000 calories and it feels great! Keep crushing it and being real. What is always left out of these conversations is FOOD EDUCATION.
    That food doesn’t look good anymore when you learn about non-alcohol liver cirrhosis, metabolic issues, that sugar inhibits collagen.
    Nothing made me more averse to junk food than learning what it actually does to my body.
    Cannot avoid junk food engineered to be addicting by willpower and the threat to be fat alone. Food education is so important when making the right food choices.

    The "I can't" vs "I don't want" argument is a difficult one, especially based on different cultures. For example, in Indian culture, "I don't want" would be perceived as an insult, especially if it is said to a person older than me. "I can't" is a more polite way of getting out of things I don't want to do in the country that I was born. It gives power to something outside my control, which is weirdly okay for most people in my home country.
    The "I don't want" works perfectly fine if the surrounding is receptive to your goals. Like if I said, "I don't want to watch a movie, because I want to study", almost every adult in India would stand up and applaud me. But if I said, "I don't want to eat more than 1 piece of cake", I'll be ridiculed and force-fed, whereas "I can't have more than 1 piece of cake" makes it seem like I may have a medical condition that should be left alone (I have actually lied or led people to believe that I have a medical condition to get out eating unhealthy food).
    So the bottom line is that certain advice works or doesn't work based on culture and your environment.

    • @502gurl
      @502gurl Před 2 měsíci +1

      Think ur missing the point tho. You can still tell them you "can't" while thinking in your head "I wont because I CHOOSE not to". The point is that you should believe that you don't want to vs not being allowed. How you respond physically is irrelevant.

    I googled ‘how to make the best comment on CZcams’ so that I could implement some real strategy and be chosen for MAPS Strong. Then I realized, wow this is garbage advice and I could just be listening to the podcast instead. Here I am. 💪🏼
