Great review! I've had my '19 XSE hybrid for about 2 months now and really like it. We test drove a Limited first, and it does ride slightly smoother than the sportier XSE, but the 2-tone paint (Blizzard Pearl with the black top) and black rims sold us on the XSE. There's plenty of power under the hood and the e-CVT transmission is smooth and seamless. I commute 50 miles each way to work with both city driving and interstate, and I get 41 mpg in Sport mode, 42 mpg in Normal mode, and 43 mpg in Eco mode. I drive pretty sane, only gunning it when I have to, and I'm very happy with the fuel economy. The car is comfortable for 4 full sized adults and I have zero complaints about the ride and handling. I haven't noticed any more wind noise than with other newer cars, IMO they're all a bit noisier than I prefer (wind and tire noise). This goes for higher end cars as well, like Beemers and Lexus, but that's just my opinion. The RAV4 is expensive, but considering all the safety features that come standard on it and Toyota's reputation for reliability, I think it's worth the money.

    • @mariaa.5829

Traded my 2010 RAV4 V6 Ltd and thought I’d regret losing the V6 power- it IS noticeably slower in acceleration (unless you really punch it) but it gets up to speed quickly enough and you can’t beat 38+ mpg in an SUV 😃👍

I have a Rav4 XLE Hybrid. Couple of things I have issues with. I'm only getting about 34.5 mpg with fairly careful driving speeds. Am I doing something wrong? Also, none of you reviewers comment on the lack of illumination of the overhead and door buttons. If you need to turn on the interior light at night, good luck. I start blindly pushing buttons and usually manage to open the moon roof which is not pleasant in the rain and cold.Or, as you get in you try to unlock the passenger door for someone else and---Where's the button??. You wind up lowering the window or locking everything before finding the correct button. Why in the world didn't they illuminate these buttons? For $29.000 you'd think they could put in some glow in the dark buttons. In the meantime, your wife is standing out in the cold and rain saying, "Open the damn door!" I haven't isolated the cause yet by taking out everything that could be rattling, but I think there is a rattle inside the dash while driving on gravel roads.

EV mode is only good @ 20mph and under as it is a drive mode designed for residential areas and parking lots. I have a 2020 XLE hybrid model and I am surprised at how much noise I hear in this video. The one I have is very quiet; but I agree, the hybrid mode with its trail, ev, eco modes is very nice to drive. The only thing I wish I had, is that sound system from jbl.

Asking for suggestions/recommendations: my RAV4 hybrid Limited 2019 mpg is at best 32 mpg. In winter 28 mph. I live in Anchorage, Alaska and gar is in heated garage when home. Fuel tank capacity is only 11 gallons. The local dealer did fuel diagnostics and presumably changed the fuel tank. However, nothing changed. I still fill max 11.1 gln and fuel efficiency is still 31-32 mpg. What else can be done? Was hoping to get a fuel efficiency of at least 36 mpg. Thanks.
