Only Richard could lose everything to a Ruination in a monocolored deck
Wait, doesn't everyone besides Tomer say they play roughly the same amount of basics?
It was pretty funny
@@BobardeZanzibar They are usually adamant about not playing many in multicolored decks. In monocolored, you have to try real hard to not have basic lands.
Richard has such greedy galaxy brain takes about deckbuilding. The group almost always lets him get away with it, so it's great to see it published for once.
That was for Tomer!
It's cathartic to see someone playing only 5 basics in their mono colored deck get blown out so hard
Richard being salty after last podcast saying people should run ruination is priceless
Richard has been gloating about his cracked utility land heavy mana base for months 😅
Only running 5 basics in mono colour, that is kinda on him anyways :D
Maximum punished. We need to see ruination every game
@@Mensch777 and in black the color that repays you the most to run basics!
if you're in monoblack and not running a ton of swamps you're being kinda dumb. it has HUGE payoffs for swamps
"Felix is a Panharmonicon for dealing combat damage."
So just HARMonicon.
🤣
Painharmonicon
Rotfl
@@BrewersKitchen hi phil!
So it's good cop, bad cop
Good cop - Tomer "you should run more basics"
Bad cop - Crim "you were told to run more basics"
LOL
Crim expecting hate and getting praised here is hilarious. Richard ate it good this week, wish we saw more of Kellan, I wanna try building him.
Crim is the hero that gotham deserved today, finally punishing the abuse of the social contract.
5 swamps in mono black? Come on man 😂
Richard having no lands left after Ruination in a mono-black deck
Crim is showing the missing piece from Tomer's "more basics" arguement.
yhea somehow it worked for him, I would play more basics in that kind of deck, also obliterate ...
Except most MLD doesn't care about basics.
Seeing Richard’s mono-color land base get completely annihilated by Ruination was so satisfying.
Sorry Richard, but that blowout was entirely your own fault
Well deserved
I like how the Discourse all week from Seth was "How can we punish ramp?" and Seth shows up, ramps like crazy, and then gets immediately punished. Props to Crim, that was hilarious.
16:13 HE DID IT HE REALLY DID IT
Tomer would be proud of you for maintaining the basic land agenda
Love you Sahiel!
Crim likes being the Heel of each Commander game, but tonight he has earned the medal for being Protagonist.
Everyone eventually gets a Face turn!
This was the unannounced Ramp Decks week apparently. Love to see land destruction with a plan. With great power comes great humor!
Everyone should play Temur land destruction ramp control every week. It's so awesome. If only he had played a splendid reclamation after. Absolutely hilarious deck.
Honestly, I'm not sure why no one called out Crim for having a Fierce Guardianship on turn 3. He literally never plays his commander out without protection. We know this from hand cameras in the past.
@josephpayton7522 True. I was more confused how no one else would destroy his Omenpath to lose him those 5 lands. But seeing Richard play mono-black and not have basics was priceless. :)
31:25 Richard still trying to mentally recover from that ruination
The thousand yard stare lol
Proof that land destruction doesn't make games go longer, if you build your deck around them. Good job Crim! Love to see the Pika-loot win
The game would have gone significantly longer if everyone else hadnt auto-scooped... I'm happy to see Richard and Phil get punished for once, but dont act like Crim did something special. The moron is only playing 3 basics in his own deck
I used to run Jokulhaups in Marchesa, the Black Rose. Ended games so fast!
I mean yeah... coz nobody could actually play after he did. I'd rather a long game where everyone has fun
Punishing greedy mana bases is the best way to make people play basics. Playing a Loot deck and running things that punish your opponents' lands (Blood Moon, Back to Basics)😊 on top of cards like Choke, Ruination, and Quicksilver Fountain to further keep them off of Mana would be super dope
It’s time the community rises up and says it loud and proud (land destruction is good for the format) 🗣️
Targeted land destruction yes. MLD no.
@@CheatD1n unless it's nonbasic MLD
Nonbasic mld has got to happen
I'm aboard the nonbasic land hate.
@@Suavek69 Ok, so ramp decks start ramping out fifteen basics instead of duals. ???
More ruination please
So happy to see someone finally punished for building extremely heavy utility land heavy deckbuilding in monocolored deck. More Ruination in general. For everyone. Even Seth and Phil sometimes have a lot of utility lands in their 2/3 colors deck
Ooops, I dropped my basic hate card list!
Wave of Vitriol
From the Ashes
Ruination
Anathemancer
Burning Earth
Price of Progress Price of Progress Price of Progress Price of Progress
Anathemancer
Fuck it! even back to basics and blood moon
Just adding to the cascade of comments praising the Ruination play from Crim. Crim reminding the crew that running greedy mana bases comes with risks.
10/10 punish the ramp
We need more cards against land ramp.
The green decks were fine, though.
@@BobardeZanzibar True, perhaps against ramping of nonbasic is more accurate. Extra colors in decks, at least of enemy colors, were suppose to have drawbacks.
@@BobardeZanzibarand the mono-color black deck should have been fine too. As Crim said numerous times, that wasn’t an Armageddon. It was punishment for Richard’s arrogance parading around that he skates by on the social contract that you can’t destroy lands and makes the greediest land bases imaginable.
Best card to shut down ramp is Ward of bones, but sadly it costs 6 mana
Crim slammed the door on this game.
How to build a mono-black mana base:
1x Cabal Coffers
1x Cabal Stronghold
38x Snow-Covered Swamp
-1 cabal stronghold
+1 urborg
I also always include War Room, Castle Lochtwain & Bojuka Bog plus some utility lands according to the deck, but none of my MonoBlack decks have less than 26 swamps (I have 3)
@@SSolemn I mean yea basically. if around 3/4 your manabase isn't swamps you've fucked up
@@thatepicwizardguy People getting greedy and trying to cram Field of the Dead into EVERY deck.
Depending on sacrifice synergies takenuma and phyrexian tower are good too
The ruination was hecka cathartic
This 3 player pod was a real change of pace I wonder what happened to Richard I swear I saw him in the intro
Yes, the Ruination-Play was awesome. But the mana reduction from Doc Aurlock made such a huge impact, i couldn't keep up with how much mana Crim saved.
How do the tri color decks have more basics after a ruination than the mono black deck, why is Richard running crypt ghast if he isn’t gonna play swamps?
Because he’s absolutely running an Urborg/Coffers combo and he loves extort
Crim all the love from the play more basics community!
I'm all about Crim's enthusiasm for Loot
I support all of richards crazy takes, but him getting dumpstered was pretty hilarious.
Also these comments all hailing crim as the hero are pretty great.
Looks like LD back on the menu boys
Love how you used omenpath journey, this shows its power with surveil lands and land destruction as well. Great game everyone!
Ruination is a good start, but we need more! Blood Moon, Back to Basics, Price of Progress!! Make those Non-Basic mana bases suffer!!! If you want fancy lands, they come with a price!
(Also has the bonus effect of making bounce lands good!)
We love you crim for playing Pikachu and LD!
Loot reminds me more of a Digimon more than a Pokémon lol
I’m a dyed in the wool green player but god bless crim in his effort to normalize LD
Go get it Crim! In your pod with all the cracked nonbasics and rampant ramping you're playing you're SO justified in playing MLD. Do it again!
I see Ruination, I feel happiness. Honestly, that was a great deck by Crim.
Such a satisfying Ruination. See it, yet? MLD has been gaslit out of the format by greedy players. Kaalia was at one point feared because the point was to establish a board presence and then to blow up other players' lands and thus their ability to respond. Green's "ability to rebuild" would be irrelevant, because the point would be to use your established board to smack the green player out of the game while they were stuck scrambling. It works this way in vintage-legacy as well.
Tempo-aggro is wholly viable in non-CEDH if you actually affect the board prior to turn 5, and you make use of the zillions of counters, board protection, or death-trigger effects to deal with board wipes and apply continual pressure to greedy, all-in decks. The fog meta falls apart when you aren't relying wholesale on alpha strikes as your sole wincons, but you have to actually build the deck to apply pressure and interact. Even in CEDH, Winota and Edric and so-on show that if you build it properly, the strat can work (even if there the commanders do carry hard).
I have a lot of decks with expensive mana bases and I always tell new players to pick up cards that can attack my mana base instead of buying a bunch of expensive dual lands. It's a good budget equalizer if your a new player.
Too true, It's all about having a plan to meaningfully progress using it 👍
Legend has it that Seth is still there counting the lands in his graveyard muttering "Crim... CRIMMMMMM"
Crim is my hero, ruination is awesome, absolutely loved this episode
Ruination is based but sad because I’m 99% sure Seth and Richard will change nothing and complain😅
We love you Crim for playing Pikachu and LD!
JUDGE!! ^_^ @ 4:45 - Y'all were right about there not being Yavimaya, but Sakura-tribe is a basic only and Seth didn't have any basics. (also I realized today in a white deck, you can play a fetch turn 1 and 2, waiting to crack both on turn two and cast Brought Back to double ramp, and then do it again on turn 3 with Ewit/Skullwinder).
Comments got me so excited for Crim this game! Bringing quality gameplay!
Greedy mana bases need to have a downside. Crim doing the lords work.
my therapist: MTGkachu isnt real he cant hurt you
Crim: 😏
Hell yeah, Felix Five-Boots! Great character & card. Thanks for the video!
I love the new format for videos being able to see the board state more clearly and all around feels more natural but i also miss the 1hr+ games that MTGO would give us. I work in a factory and i would actually put my ear buds in and listen to the old games like a podcast while i worked and i cant really do that with these cause they start and end so quick now. Either way i live the content and the channel keep up the good work guys!
This one is a little shorter than we want. It was like 1.5 hours unedited, if we had realized it would end up 30 minutes we would have done a game two.
@MTGGoldfishCommander No problem I really don't have a problem with the new style and short form content it probably does better numbers anyway for retention and stuff I get it! Still love the content you guys put out
Only 30 mins...turns out mtgo was the hero we needed this whole time...that and wraths.
I love the paper gameplay even though I mostly play mtgo myself but I do miss the hour and a half videos sometimes haha
Def miss the longer videos. And seeing their hands
I mean when the games were only an hour and a half cause mtgo is a back program
Just goes to show how much of that time was slowly cycling through turns and animations
But they also aggressively edit this. Part of the charm of commander clash was enjoying them shooting the shit and whatnot. Lot less chatter nowadays
So it was funny to see what happened in game. But I do wish that there had been a game two running back the decks cause no one else really did much of anything. Was looking forward to seeing Felix in action.
We need Ruination in every clash until Richard learns his lesson.
That and winds of abandon
The Ruination will continue until mana bases improve.
I miss the longer games and the double game videos. But good game this week everyone.
Say what you want Crim is the ultimate proof and reason on why one should play more basics in a deck.
Damn that was a sick pop off.
Who knew MODO errors and mis-clicks were the only thing stopping the tyranny of Crim from taking over Commander Clash? I mean, I think we all knew for the most part, but it's still pretty startling to watch.
Even if he had a physical misclick in not attacking one turn.
Love and support for Crim. Ramp is ubiquitous and pushed, are we supposed to ignore it?
The best episode of the last 2 years. Nice decks, nice editing. I wish I could get another episode with these decks
Kinda crazy that Richard only has 5 basics in a MONO COLORED DECK. I get wanting utility lands but once he played og urborg I feel like he was just trying to make field of the dead work lol
I usually don’t build decks I see online but I’m definitely building Ruination/Blood Moon Loot
if you do, be better than Crim and make sure to put more than 3 basic lands in your deck...
@@frankomancer yea haha I usually run between 6-12 basics in 3 color depending on the combination, will probably be around 12 for this deck
Seth has never seen a panharmonicon he didn't like.
Crim, the people’s champion, especially in response to field of the dead
I love seeing the Ruination out of a ramp deck. Living vicariously through Crim's ramp hate :D
That is what you call a "Loot" crate.
absolutely beautiful, I hope the nonbasic mld continues
This was such a banger episode. MLD actually sped the game up which was very interesting to see.
Astronaut gun meme: it always has
If you build the deck correctly it always will
That's not true it just turned the game into solitaire cause it removed 2 players out of the game. MLD is always trash
Richard got to watch one person play magic and watch two others slowly drown.
We love you Crim for playing Pikachu and LD!!!
Crim is channeling my inner spirit with the MLD.
2:40 For 1 second just 1 second, I thought Crim was going to blow up Richard's single land. 😆
Richard being salty after not being able to build a functioning mana base for a mono colored deck is hilarious
He didn't seem very salty
Loot is basically just another prosper if built right. And it would appear that crim built it right
Petition to name Passionate Archaeologist Flint Dibble
I definitely sent this game to people from my play group. What a fun episode. Was surprised to find myself so excited to see Ruination resolve 😂
This is why you run basics. Mono black can be all swamps and a cabal stronghold, BUT i would rather see a from the ashes be played over ruination.
both? both is good
Crim: I'M PUNISHING THE RAMP DECKS *casts ruination*
The Ramp Decks: *3 lands ahead after the spell resolves*
Good job Crim, that'll show those green players.
I could watch a lore video, but I'm just going to assume Vraska and Jace adopted (not) Pikachu.
Love the LD and Pikachu deck, Crim!!! This was a great episode 😁😁
“What’s the actual text on Loot?”
“I don’t know what Loot is.”
*You can feel the eye roll.* “What’s the text on Magic Pikachu?”
Crim, the hero we needed
I guess that's what they get for poo-pooing basics 😂 i bet Tomer feels real vindicated now lol basics are underrated af
Ruination forever! I don't have a deck for it, but I need to build one. Screw nonbasics.
That ruination was beautiful
I swear, I havent started to watch the episode.... if Richard is playing Field of the Dead imma get mad... love ya
You didn't need to worry about that, I guess.
@@singularleaf3895to be fair he is playing it in his deck since he only has 5 basics in a MONO BLACK deck(which wants at least 25 basics normally)
@SpecHallenbeck doesn't change I fucking hate that card and is one of 2 cards I have chosen to ban in my play groups. The other being Sol ring.
@@singularleaf3895oh no I hate it too, I’m just say it’s for sure in his deck because why wouldn’t he with the already atrocious and poorly thought out mana base.
Thank you Crim for playing LD!!
Pouring in critical love and support for Crim despite his incredibly cursed choice of commander
a great game i hope we get more double/longer games though
Its crazy how dominante game Is when crim has mana 😬
Ruination is exactly what that pod deserves lol they're so reliant on non-basic lands. Crim was such a villain this episode and I'm here for it! So much that I can actually forgive him for playing green!!!
What a hilarious game! Thanks guys. Love that Ruination.
Nice to see Crim playing Ruination. I want more Back to Basics and Ruinations to punish greedy manabases and force people to “play more honest.”
Outlaws of Thunder Junction is definitely peak(achu) magic
Phil's deck is the exact same as my Kellan deck lfmao.
Crim Ramping to LD Verbal Meme: “You were suppose to destroy the Sith not Join them!”
My love and support is going out to Crim
It's me in the youtube comments, pouring out love and support for Crim's Ruination
It’s always weird to me that Crim will play everything cringe and hated yet still refuses to say Clash On
he's trying to get them to unite and play the super villain
Does it matter? Lol why you so mad?.
WE LOVE YOU CRIM FOR PLAYING PIKACHU AND LD!! (just this once lol)
Look guys I know editing is hard but I really miss the modo days when I knew that I could spend my evening on a 2 hours commander clash video
"To play around ruination you need to play like 20 lands" Richard my brother in christ you played a solemn that either ramped a basic or a cave... And picked the cave! Literal skill issue!
Loot looks like a meme character, but he just sent the rest of the table home in a matchbox. This game was won just through the disparity in resource generation, and Crim having more cards at his disposal than anybody else at the table.
