Can you make a tilting trike??? Way safer on turns...

did you see the tandems? riders facing away from each others? how STUPID is that? engineers should be fired. but who authorized production? black eye for ice

An interesting opinion Garry. We have only ever built 2 back to back tandems as it's a very niche product, and both were custom orders by couples who specifically asked for this design. The first couple had it built to do the PBP (Paris, Brest, Paris) non stop Audax Ride.. The second was for a couple in California who use it for long distance touring.
There are actually many benefits to this design. Being back to back puts the riders heads much closer together making communication much easier than shouting at each other from either end of a long machine. Its more aerodynamic and very, very fast. It gives you a large, convenient space between the seats for luggage storage rather than trying to fit panniers which stick out to the sides (adding more wind resistance) and are complicated to mount onto a machine which has two sets of legs in the way. It's also much safer in traffic as you have eyes on the road in both directions. Both riders weight is central on the trike putting you further from the wheels making it more comfortable and much more balanced in cornering. The design enables the chain lines to be kept straighter increasing the machines efficiency.
The benefits to us as a company are also numerous as these machines are great at attracting attention and are great talking points. The clip you are referencing here is Chris Parker (The Designer and one of ICE Trikes Directors) and his son competing in the Recumbent World Championships in France in 2019.
As the stoker on the rear of the trike, there is a bit of a learning curve. And communication from the front rider about cornering is sometimes needed so you know when to lean into corners. But it doesn't take long to get used to and is a heck of a lot of fun.

Years ago at a rally in Lancaster at one of the British Human Power Club race meetings I had the opportunity to have a go on one of these back to back ICE tandems with my daughter and it was absolutely awesome. I'm now on my 4th ICE trike having the time of my life.

Meh, looks like a lot of fun to me. But as for the Oxford Business MBA who shaved off 1/2 a pence per unit in the component cost of that bloody awful ICE rear mudguard - that one needs a skimmity ride. The ICE front mudguards are bloody brilliant! Just like every other part of any ICE trike (excepting the former). Pommy companies - lead by chinless wonders mostly, maybe one day they'll figure to give the janitor a stab at running the show and then they'll really have a shot!😂
