Coming home I realized that after they opened it I couldn’t shut it. It stayed on vent mode. They never told us about this issue nor did they try to make it right. Yes this was a while ago but I think at the same time as the last step with the screwdriver my wife pressed the button for the sunroof and it closed all the last inch or so. Sorry it was a while ago but I pretty much did exactly what he did in the video and hit the switch at the same time

just had the same issues, good video problem fixed . another step if the screw driver does not push it down , unscrew the little screw on the hinge then use a hammer and screw driver . great video

I have CLA 250 whose sunroof is stuck in closing. Front part goes all way to close but the back does not come down to sit so it is stuck in tilted mode. Can I close this manually from the motor? Where is the motor on CLA 250 for the sunroof not the blinds? you have GLA which is same where was the motor just above the light dashboard? On driver or passenger side? Were you able to use wrench in it without taking the ceiling liner off around the over the head light? Please help.
This worked for me. I have a 2015 w205 where only the right side worked and the left was stuck. I used a regular Allen wrench which made it a bit more difficult to turn as I had no leverage. I also used a flathead to tap it down. Soon as I started rotating it the glass started coming down. After that i used the button to bring it down but since it detected a fault it rose back up a bit. I just stopped it soon as I felt a good seal. Just need to test for water intrusion. Dealer was charging me 1k to bring it down.
When you were turning it with the allen wrench was it really tight? Mine is super tight, idk if i should keep trying to turn it or if i should leave it. Will the end of the window come down without doing the first step?
@@heyhihello.1 I had the L shaped Allen tool. Soon as I started turning in the glass started coming down except the other side which was stuck. I turned it up until it became super hard to turn it. I then used the flat head and a hammer and tapped it a bit and it came down. After that I used the button to bring it down more. I’m guessing it detected an obstruction to it would lift up a bit again. I just pushed the button again to stop it once I felt it closed better. I do hear air when I’m driving on the freeway but I think that’s because of the broken bracket.
I searched all over to figure out how to do this on a 2015 CLA 250. This video was the closest thing. But after removing the light/sunroof pod, there was no Allen access and no visible motor. It was dim light when I tried this. I watched the video again. And went back out to look again. This time i saw a small portion of the motor towards the passenger side. But no access through this control pod area. I flipped down the passenger side sun visor and damn it! There is a little round plastic cover. I removed it and there is the Allen access point. So on the CLA 250. There is no need to remove the control pod.

This happened to my 2014 CLA. The access point is under the passenger visor and takes a T25 torx. I'm still having an issue of the back being tilted (both sides). I tried tapping it with a flathead screw driver and mallet with no success. How can I get it loose? Those screws on the sides of the rear glide? Is there a way to force the tilt close if it does not want to move?
I was able to get it unstuck. I just soaked it with WD40 and had to tap it enough with a mallet and flathead. This tricked worked for me. Thanks.@@jeuropeanautoservice6152
Bro pls help, my roof was stuck with raised back and not closing completely so workshop mechanic closed the roof manually 2 months back, now when the repair parts have arrived, they are not able to open it manually with tool. They are saying that the 2 backend portion of the roof (which u closed in end of video with screwdriver) is not raising up when opening with tool manually or automatically, back end is stuck and not raising so the the roof won't open . As a result they are not able to repair the roof. can't take it to merc service as they are suggesting replacement of full roof and quoting big amount . Can u provide me any suggestions with which I can open back end of roof manually? It would be a great help Model w205

This is a manufacturer's defect based on my research. Did anyone try the hammer approach? I can't get the back right to budget, but the other side was able to release down.
directly from my friend who is a tech for Mercedes-Benz, and worked for me: while it’s stuck open, try closing the sunroof with the button and at the same time place your hand on the inside, middle of the glass roof and just use assist force, not too hard, like pull the glass towards the front of the car to help it close. Worked for me! Couldn’t believe something so simple worked and right before an ice rain storm too 😭
I did the “hammer tap gently” technique. For whatever reason. The rear part was stuck. I used the screwdriver as in the video and tapped gently until the part moved forward. The passenger side was also stuck and after a few taps it went easier. The driver side needed taps until the glass was as far as it could go with the screwdriver. I pushed it down a bit. But it still was not fully seated. I went to the #4 Allen and it was able to finally turn and the top seated. My girlfriend has an appointment with Mercedes Benz. She has an extended warranty. Let’s she how that goes. It seems the whole guide rail and hardware needs to be replaced.

My passenger side wont tilt upwards and it only tilts on the left side. How can I get the right side to tilt in order for me to push back the glass and get to the screws to remove the glass panel completely and make the necessary repairs. YES YOU CAN OPEN MANUALLY FIRST LIFT THE REAR PART W FLAT SREWDRIVEER AND THEN GO AT MOTOR AND REVERSE THE THE BOLT W THE 4 ALLEN KEY
