- Since I first saw this jacket at the Los Vegas Shot Show, I have wanted one. It's less about the jacket, and more about the camouflage pattern.
That's right, it's the reversible Mitchell Camouflage Pattern from the Cold War, and Vietnam War period the US military used.
I am also making nylon products like packs, and pouches in this same pattern. Please visit my website fro my information.

So I recently got the exact same jacket but in Alpha Green, and I really like it. I would have preferred the Shadow Grey version, but it wasn't available. Anyhoo, the green does look somehwat greyish in certain lights, so I'm not disappointed at all.
Now, you mentioned that you didn't think it was particularly warm (unless I misheard you, in which case I apologise for misquoting you), but I actually found it surprisingly warm. Certainly felt warmer than any of my down puffies. Regardless of that, the Wolfhound should really be considered part of a PCU-style layering system. In which case, you'd prolly want to wear a LEvel 7 or Husky jacket on top for the extreme cold.
You are correct. Would be best worn with some sort of outer shell. Alone j find it similar to the mid weight insulated jackets. It doesn’t stand well alone. Still a great jacket. Cheaper than the most brands and built better.
Thank you for doing this review. I'm torn between this Mitchell camo and the DNC/Desert. I got the DNC/Desert Swagman Roll and it is much better than the single color. Now I'm eyeing this jacket.
Brother same here. I really love that night camo.
Very cool jacket, love how it reverses just like the old mitchell helmet covers, Thanks for sharing.
It’s a great camo pattern
Sew that hole in the jacket with that new machine, and show off your work in a video!!
I run in fall and winter now
3 - ULTRA Merino 120 LT LS Crew-T - So I can change them very light shirt
1 - StrongFleece 275 Full Zip Hoodie - This removes the chill
1 - Super Down LT Jacket - for cold nights
3 pairs for darn tought socks
All items are KUIU its its a nice layer system. On really cold nights a hat and gloves with 2 down quilts and I can take it down to -20F = -6C
I’m mostly a wool shirt and socks fella. I layer my clothing
@@mikebox Don't you find wool itchy? I bought a wool blanket and man that thing is itchy.
2:23 Looks alot like old-german Camo
There’s plenty of tests that were made using the German experiences with camouflage
@@mikebox I just wiggle my belly and the bullets bounce right off
Mike, nice looking jacket. It looks good on you. It seems to stuff down pretty small.
It’s compact. This jacket might end up being a winter city jkt
Great video! Cant wait to get my hands on it, the missus got me one for my birthday, but i gotta wait till next month for it, so really looking forward to trying it out on our next hike down by the Southern coast of Ireland, sidenote helikon just brought out a swagman/poncho/sleeping bag thingy in Mitchell camo as well, might be the next thing I'll get from them
I’m now waiting on the Smock to finally come out
a modernized smokers jacket.
I don't smoke. But I think if I moved fast enough I could.
