Everybody giving ubisoft praise, i'm just sitting here like "Damn, this guy just perfectly re-enacted every single thing from the e3 trailer"
Dang, you're right!
And so it begins....
This guy is having chronic gaming OCD.
Ubisoft used to totally fake their e3 showcases but this one is pretty accurate

This is how you do it, Ubisoft. The changes shown here are minor and are not downgrades. Keep it up, Ubisoft.
Removing a section from a game seems like a downgrade to me

@@mgiebus1869 We're talking visuals. I see no downgrade whatsoever. Is it also a downgrade because it doesn't have snow like the first game?
@@mgiebus1869 ehh, it seemed like a small part that is pretty insignificant in the grand scope of the game.
No downgrade, but the game looks like one from 5 years ago.
EA: Well guess we're in the shithole together, eh, Ubisoft?
Ubisoft: lol no bye
Also EA : Releases NFS 2015 where the gameplay and the cutscenes are the same.
Im actually kinda shocked. The game wasn't downgraded to shit and the game is actually really good.
Bravo, Ubi

They made a policy 3 YEARS ago saying they will no longer show misleading demos. 3 YEARS. This isn’t new info they have been doing good for 3 years
@@ttime441 = retail. No global illumination and ambient occlusion
Its nice to see that the game isnt downgraded much. Or actually its even improved from the e3 demo
Lol no it's actually been downgraded pretty heavily. Just that Nick never spots the most important changes. Look at 3:28 at the grass models and at 1:50 at the tree, the tree's leaves, and the overall depth and lighting. The difference is night and day.
Max Khovansky err time of day is on the guy making the video. He could have waited for the lighting to be the same. In fact he has it reversed in his video. Alleyway is at sunset where it should be the plane at sunset. Midday at the plane where it should be midday in the alley. Throws it off.
But its still look worse than The Division (E3 2013)
GTPlanet1™ but division was never good. Probably on par with Chaos Theory at best.

I think the lighting in E3 is more movie like. It looks pleasing for a presentation but for gameplay it can get irritating during gameplay. I like the cleaner retail version.
Absolutely agreed. I would assume they color graded the footage in post before rendering. Also, the footage runs at 30fps and has very faded blacks
At least Ubisoft trying to improve its reputation...
Good time to be a gamer. Specially PC gamer:
- Capcom shows that AAA Singleplayer games are relevant and successful. Also very good PC ports
- MCC announced on PC
- Ubisoft has been improving these last 3 years
unlike EA :D
Also can’t forget that Cyberpunk could quite literally be the best game of our time if comes out like we’ve been seeing so far
SNP BASSEY if it comes out in 2069.....
@@HeavySandvichGuy1 Meanwhile Bethesda and and EA / Activision have all been going downhill, I'm very happy that Ubisoft did this as I loved the first one and already completed division 2. I'm just hoping 2K Games follow the same road and bring out BL3 just as well.
@6:15 the presidents plane logo was not removed, but moved slightly back and to the right. Not removed.... just moved. Most likey due to the backdrop of the logo.
Yup someone else pointed this out too. Pretty odd change, doesn't really do much to change the scene, but at least it's still there
@@Nick930 i would only presume it had to do with the model itself. Alphaed back, not textured on the other side, no physics, bad geometry, list could go on. For a tech demo I would only presume the back l didnt have a texture in the base and was moved to hide it, i have found a few assets in world that have no texture on the back, just a grey blocky mess or copied on the other side. Dang, I think the retail game actually looks better than e3, well done Ubisoft!
Not in all ways. Look at the dirt and grim textures on the police car in the E3 demo. It's totally gone from the retail version. The E3 textures look more accurate to what a car would probably look like sitting abandoned to the elements for months.
Ubisoft has been doing really good since AC: Origins. Hopefully it stays that way.

E3: Better occlusion and light effects - Retail: Better details and textures
the light effects are just as good in retail but have a different color palette. The retail version went with a far more photo realistic lighting.
Overall its just heavier post processing in the e3 version, which is performance heavy and compensated for via detailing and textures in retail.

This is amazing Nick930. I'm reviewing The Division 2 and this video provided me with so much information and makes me much more confident in covering how it has changed since its first unveiling at E3.
7:55 this is literally what you can do once you get to WT4, outposts can be recapture by enemies and leveled up in difficulty before you try to take them back.
awesome, glad to hear that. I'm still working towards a final review. This is just a brief technical analysis.
Lately the game industry is a tight rope and the developer walks along it holding a pole, weighed on one side with loot box/micahtransactions. And on the other side unfinished/poor quality laced with empty promises. Ubi didn't downgrade and the transactions/money side of things are very small in this (few optional cosmetics). Well done Ubisoft, don't be like EA.
Also regarding the botanical garden, there is actually an indoor mission involving a highly overgrown/jungle like area which was pretty cool, I won't say any more though. I'm impressed with the games combat and level design.
Whoops, you almost leaked the new missions.
>Micahtransactions
Fitting
The level design for Division 2 is great, would definitely come back again for dem endgame content
Great vid, Nick!
It's a detailed comparison, very informative and interesting to watch! Isn't the plane debris at 9:06 just moved forward slightly? You can see it on the retail version underneath the flag pole.

I’m sure many people have told you this by now, but just in case they didn’t, you can actually vault over that metal fence outside of the botanical garden now. I just gave it a shot today, and I was surprised that it actually works. Maybe Ubisoft saw this video and made a couple corrections 🤔 Awesome video, as always!
Cutscenes in this game reminds me of ps2 times. Still love the game tho
Clearly not as bad as before but I still think the trailer lighting looks way better (even being slightly blurry)
I mean, they were (are) the WORST company at staying true to what they showed at e3. This is known: they’re liars, no shame.
This video starts out by pointing out they removed an area from the e3 demo. They used to just downgrade textures. Now they do that, AND cut content.
And y’all are like, “Ah! Much better!”
Meanwhile EA is releasing AAA games for free (Apex) while updating game like Battlefield for free with maps that are 10x the size of the previous biggest Battlefield map, which was 10x the size of a usual cod map.
Battlefield just released an update, for free, with 10 new vehicles, and a map that is as big as about ONE HUNDRED call of duty maps. Screw it, we’ll call it 75. For free.
But y’all are like, “YES! Ubisoft only cut some of the content they promised!”
Greedy EA amirite?
@@FUMoonMoney i got to say that you are very wrong, this was valid before 2016. Ubisoft has been trying to improve its reputation since then. Seriously, Ubisoft is a mediocre company, it isn't good nor bad. The reason why Apex is free because Respawn knew how to market the game, it's a spin-off titanfall br game. The game itself has a massive playerbase and doesn't cost nearly as much as making bigger AAA titles such as... well... titanfall 2. However, Division 2 is a much huger game withdense mechanics and gameplays so it cost a lot more to be made. $60 for free future content? Sound very nice. Btw the lighting in the reveal trailer looks better because it has a pinky tone so it looks more cinematic. However, the lighting in the real game is more realistic.
@@FUMoonMoney Cut content? Bro you need to take a break. You mean to tell me a small room in a garden is cut content? Jesus christ, they used it purely to confuse you to make you think it's set in a jungle.
5:50 that glitched sign is an internal dev note supposed to tell map designers to remove the luggage models from that spot
Another thing that has been changed between the E3 demo and the retail version: During the plane graveyard fight in the E3 version, the player sprinting into cover would jostle and shift the cover they were up against. This was taken out of the retail version, possibly because it messed up the cover system occasionally.
Ubsoft does not downgrade for a looooooong time.
They are doing a good job
Long? I have not forgotten about Far Cry 3, Watch Dogs, Siege, the Division 1. It takes multiple years to fully regain my trust in that company.
@@philipje1 far cry 5, watch dogs 2, division 2, ac origins and odissey.
Keep waiting more years then
@@MemoriesLP It takes one single pubic hair in your food to close down a restaurant. They fucked with my trust, deceived millions of people. That behaviour is still there. A rotten company like EA. 1-2 years of minimally downgraded games is not making up for the disappointment I felt before. I hardly call that a "loooooooooooooong time"
Wish this could be said for Anthem.
Pains me to see a lifeless world in that game
Guess BioWare needs to pull an Ubisoft itself.

ugh i'm stuck on a month long work trip but I can't wait to get home and play this

Most of the changes seem like legitimate things that would happen during development rather than the E3 trailer being completely staged. Glad they've stopped lying as blatantly.

The division 2 does look way better. Ubisoft are trying to be better
After playing it...I was definitely impressed... Hell surprised even that it was that close to E3
They definitely upgraded the textures in the retail version. And the lighting is way more realistic in the retail version. Good work!
Ubisoft: we will put the e3 demo low settings then retail high settings to earn people's trust lol

5:12 Fake Yu-Gi-Oh! card vs original one :D
Having played the closed alpha and betas, they really did a good job upgrading and fixing the issues that were present as well as the amazing optimization.
While playing through this game, I’ve constantly stopped to admire the beauty and detail of each level. They really put a lot of work into this game and it shows.
This game looks so much better than at E3, fair play Ubisoft.
They definitely intentionally showed a downgraded version at E3. 4D Chess move by Ubi, well played, well played.
They used console for E3, ps4 pro, I think
Alright, this is good. Glad to see they’ve tried to keep to what they shown
I believe the missing fortifications is actually end game content as the map and all the missions drastically change after certain events on completion of the game.

I went tot he downed airplane around lvl 20 and there WAS a giant juggernaut for me :) Also nice video and I'm happy to see, that Ubis is finally starting to get real with the pregame demos.
7:24 I really like screen effects like that to indicate that your character has been hit, staggered, or is experiencing some sort of distress. Crysis 2 did it too.
i would love for them to change the flare mechanics. In the game before, you can only use the flare in blackzone, and only in 1 location with enemies just spawning in. You can literally hide without aggro-ing anyone, then extract. I would love to see using the flare as a mechanic to call in either ammo backup, or call in other players from around the area, so that others can see the flare, decide to help or not, then run towards the location instead of spawning in, or having to meet others in hubs. In addition, enemies can also see these flares, so they move towards it, like increasing your aggro range instead of spawning enemies in. This would make the player be careful whether sending a flare would be the best idea or not.
