    In today's video we take a look at the Biqu Terminator Tool Head. This is a limited release from Biqu which packs a ton into its footprint including a Bondtech CHT Nozzle. We will cover the specs, and tear this apart to see what is inside. I really hope to see Biqu add something like this to their permanent lineup.

    this kind of looks like an evolution of their Biqu H2 V2 series, which i love, two of my printers are rocking one and the only issue was fan placement, which they seemed to correct with this extruder combo, i love it !

    Looks great (aesthetically) but serviceability is a key factor for me. I think you're right - a bit of extra clearance would probably make things a lot easier for end users. I had a look at pricing, out of curiosity, and was actually pleasantly surprised, considering it's a complete assembly with stepper motor etc. I look forward to seeing how well it performs and what the reliability is like.

    I definitely think this should be tested on a relatively stock ender 3. It has a lot of similarities to other extruder upgrades like the Ender Sprite assembly, and also falls right around the same price.

    Daniel, you are a machine, man! You make excellent content - EVERY SINGLE WEEK! It is impressive.
    I really liked the looks of this print head - the Hurakan also looked great, but functionality gets in 2nd priority. I prefer when performance and ease of use gets prioritized.

      I appreciate it. I think it was early 2020 that I committed to a video each week. Originally more of a challenge to myself to see if I could commit to a schedule. I did not plan to stick with it for so long haha.
      Yeah, I had the Hurakan in for testing but had some weird issues. I also am a big fan of pretty but not when it compromises on functionality. Attention to both is really important.

    Hi Daniel, your review is spot on. Mine has just arrived and can confirm that the led wires push the front face out a bit. With only 2 screws at the bottom and the front face trying to use the wires to clamp the fan I'm not surprised. Going to see if I can tweak the wiring. Might also see if I can attach a small thread piece to the stock fans so I can nip it up, otherwise il use the bigger ones. Agree they missed a trick on the extruder as they could easily open up the metalwork, show off the gears and allow tweezers in for jams

    It's been out for a while, and looks very impressive. A few small points, however: 1. Extruders without high quality IGDA style drive gears will no longer be tolerated. Ugly layer lines are no longer acceptable. This is an instant game over for any extruder (looking at you Orbiter 2.0). 2. Considering the people who would use such a tool head, ultra-high flow support is mandatory. Preferably V6-Volcato CHT by default. 3a. Just ship it with the EBB42 preinstalled. 3b. Just ship it with the MicroProbe preinstalled. These are just no-brainers, and their lack of inclusion is lazy. 4. As mentioned in the video, make it easier to service. Serviceability is kinda critical.

      Sadly they used a square nema14 stepper, so no can board fits without an adapter.
      I agree with the microprobe, hands down bes probe on the market. Also the volcano should have been standard, i mean a 70w heater on a standard flow hotend is a bit overkill. At least a volcano is pretty easy to install with the adjustable fans

      @@kilianlindlbauer8277 See? One non-standard move and the whole thing falls apart. This is why I disagree with Creality moving away from aluminum extrusions for the Ender V3. We're not ready for proprietary machines yet. We're still working out the kinks with the open versions.

    very cool idea but Id love to see a more indepth look on its extruder and hotend. a lot of the video was towards the aesthetics and assembly...

      I would have loved to have done some flow tests with the hotend/CHT. I was bummed to see I couldnt mount it in the SecKit. For the extruder what additional info would you like to have seen?

      ​@ModBotArmy very much agree with the above. I look forward to seeing a further video if you do one. I would talk about flow rate and overall weight, for one. I think a comparison to the Microswiss NG and Ender Sprite series might be appropriate too, as both are drop in hotend solutions.

      probably just me, but wouldve loved to see an actual look of the extruder, its gears, etc. i love seeing how toolheads are designed and like to fully understand them. great vid though, id be curious to see how it does in action!

      I believe this is mainly designed for voron printers. I just got one in and have made up a small belt holder plate that will let me use it with my Ender 3 running a mgn 12 rail

    I'm not sure the inclusion of a Bontech CHT nozzle is a 'collaboration' or 'partnership' rather than just, purchasing limited production licensing to someone else's (Bondtech's) intellectual property.

    Thankyou for reviewing this. I have bought one as part of my all metal voron 2.4 build as it seemed a really nice tool head but couldn't find a single review. Still need to work out myself how to install the canbus pcb on it. Was hoping biqu would bring out a file for this as it's advertised for the 2.4

      Oh that is going to look awesome on the 2.4. Agreed, I understand it is a limited thing but they seem to have put a lot of effort into this and even include a 2.4 clip with it. With the cables as short as they are it requires a toolhead board so an adapted would be really nice. I may spin something up.

      I didn't realise it was a limited run. My plan is a custom cnc part 2.4 with this tool head. Do you think it would fit either a canbus board or the hartk board?

    Am glad to see integrated part cooling as thats a weird miss for most commercial hot ends. Not designing for maintainability is a miss as is poor mounting options. Add a modular mounting set up and a strain gauge and improve maintainability …

    Seems like a neat toolhead but the design decisions on it seem a bit misguided. The cross section of printers that it will actually work on and look good on are super limited from what I've seen. The red accents are a show stopper for me personally. Then add on top of that, serviceability issues with the disassembly and reassembly you mentioned. I'm sure it will work for someone but it's probably best that this iteration is a limited run.

    Do you know how long this run goes for? Will you be doing performance review? I just core XY'd (not a verb, but it is now!) my 3v2, and am running the Sprite. While I love this extruder, the mounting is subpar and the weight (and now added speed with core xy) makes mounting clumsy and I've had to resort to added metal, adding weight. The fact that this can mount directly to MGN carriages, includes a belt hold, and the other added features, this seems like a great solution without having to design added ducting, probe mounts, etc (currently looking at the H2 V2S, which I could make work better than the Sprite, but this Terminator seems to be an even better solution)

    This design seems almost a natural fir using pogo pins instead of soldered wires in some places (i.e. the faceplate LEDs).

    Is this hotend all metal? I’m considering it for my ended 3 pro. Would you recommend it for that?

      Yes it is all metal. They do have a bracket for the Ender in their github but from what I recall it would require a swap from roller wheels to linear rails on the X axis.

    We need something like the EVA 3 system, a universal mounting system that users and manufactures could depend on compatability

      Some form of a standard that is more widely adopted would be sweet. It would have certain limitations but it would also come with perks for manufacturers that can mark their hardware as compatible.

      There really are two standards for Core-XY now. Voron (both belts in front) and Rat-Rig (1 in front and 1 in back). It's the designers that need to catch up.

    I don’t think this looks as good as the Bambu or Qidi tech hot ends which you are able to buy. I think the cartridge style heaters are old news.

      I dont think everyone loves the idea of non replaceable heaters/thermistors. When it fails you have to throw out the hotend. At $30 for the entire hotend (Qidi) price isnt bad but I dont think full transition will happen so quickly. A happy medium of being able to replace the heating element/thermistor combo at the least would be an improvement.

      @@ModBotArmy The tbg-air is fairly new, so no. There is a video of several tlab extruders printing 85a tpu, which is more than I can say for most aliexpress parts. It will be a few months until I get one for my x5sa

      I really need to put together a test rig. I think that will be high on my list this year. Will chew on it a bit and decide if I want something like the mutant system or something like can bus boards 🤔.

      That may be possible. I do really like the SB on mine though and the green color scheme. I have a couple other Ender 3s though so maybe it can go on an Enderwire build

    The wires directly soldered to the pcb is a design flaw with how it is part of the disassembly process. I generally like BIQU as a company, but for this one, shame on you BIQU!

    The thing that turns me off is this limited run BS. I aim to operate a printer for 10 years and while i can change parts later. I tend to avoid buying things with no future. As far as the SecKit goes i was intending to design a new toolhead for mine.

    This extruder is a waste, it is calling for all sort of troubles to happen and would be a pain to maintain. Also, talking about bi-metal heatbreaks without knowing how polished the interior is, is like saying a car has a motor inside.

    RGB.... eww..... just a feature clogg...... cramming a feature in for no reason.
    The adjustable cooling fans are a cool idea, but need improvement.
    Other than that, nothing special here...... ill stick with my microswiss.

    too many custom expensive components, heavy not nema14 motor, fans stagger, hard to disassembly - trash product.

      The stepper is a nema 14, just not a round pancake, but a regular one, just like on the h2. The whole toolhead is rather competitively priced at 90 dollars, pretty much all good extruders cost 60 dollars and up.
      As mentioned, this is most likely a collectors part, so styling is important, it needs to be pretty enough to put it up for display, nobody would do that with a OG microswiss unit.
      As for serviceability, look at the mini afterburner and mini stealthburner. To access the gears you have to disassemble pretty much everything, just like any integrated design. Personally the only time i needed to access the feed gears was when i was tuning filament tips for the ercf multi material unit

      @@Pasha4ur i know that those are garbage. The whole voron ecosystem has many bad design choices (stock bed probe, printed gantry joints on v2, solid bed mounts with no room to expand, etc).
      Personally i dont value serviceability high on the toolhead, for me performance has the top priority. Also how often do you need to open the extruder?
