back when hip hop was serious in the rap game in the 90's and our first look at tupac when he was young
Memories of me in the 6th grade back in 1989'' 90'' Coming home from school watching Yo MTv Raps And Rap City! This was back when MTv VH-1 And B.E.T was real music video stations.🎶😊
This is when B.E.T. was based in Alexandria, Virginia in the D.C. area then B.E.T. moved to NYC.
The soul of the culture has been sold and gentrified
Stop talking about our music like it's your "culture" you get yr jollies and turn it off like the rest of them after a few songs
facts on facts 😞
When BET was still Black Entertainment and not the Buffoonery it is today💯 #AboveTheLawNEazy👑 #Snap🏆💯 #DigitaL 👑
Does anyone else notice that, that's a young Tupac dressed up as Shock G's moniker Humpty Hump?! That's so dope 🔥
Above the Law Livin like hustlers album was Dope!
I totally forgot about when digital underground used to pretend that Humpty was a separate person from Shock G😂😂😂
Like in their cameo appearance in the movie Nothing But Trouble 😆 #goodentertainment #goodtimes
Penny Ford's 1984 album: Pennye, is a very nice album. She used to sing backup with the Gap Band as well. She's a multi-instrumentalist as well playing the guitar, bass guitar, flute, drums, percussion and keyboards/synthesizer. She's also extra fine!!!
I hate how he interviewed them it was horrible
@kizzieward6441 Yeah but she was pretty rude also.
rip lay law,rip eazy e
Eazy-E Had Dat Gangsta Swag Back Then He Let All His Ppl Shine 💯💯😎
Sister Penny isn't here to play, y'all. haha
1-900 NUMBERS WAS POPPING.................. VINTAGE RAP CITY

When BET was black before Bob sold it to Viacom ….great times I swear
THIS IS WHEN RAP CITY WAS FLAMBOYANT
That’s a crazy choice of words
This new sensitive generation now days 😂
Before gangster rap took over
As opposed to the tight skinny jean wearing ‘gangstaaas’ of today?
Shock G was the original troll lol
I was like ooh Digital Underground!
Am I going to see Tupac? Then there he was in all his youth and glory. I miss him.
Classic! BET probably doens't have these episodes anymore

GOAT ERA OF
HIP HOP 90S
😎✊🏼
SNAP! didn't really want to be there 👀
The lead singer alluded to it. She heard her voice on a hit record and I think they were going to proceed without her. Homegirl was like: LET ME MAKE SOME CALLS. Tried to CC Factory her!!! LOL
When she said working hard to reap the benefits of success. I realized they had a bad contract.
@4:32 Tupac Doing the humpty hump, just dancing and happy as hell to be on tv. Before the beef and before you know what...
This was when hip hop was real hip hop

This SNAP Stuff is Interesting . Thanks for Posting this. Greets from Germany.
Wow! I can remember pulling up to Chapter 3 back in 1990. I'm from Mississippi, but I was stationed in Norfolk. I had extended family who lived in Upper Marlboro, she was at Hampton U at the time and her homegirl from high school was at UNC Chappel Hill. Hanging out in D.C.
#Memories
The People Made A Hit! That's the secret.
the 1990's had lot of things right back then.
(not everything, but quality things indeed.)
but I just dig that nostalgic wave online.
the vibes fit me for the times, even now.
Eazy E a real boss !
Eazy-E & Tupac Makaveli The Only 2 Legend I Looked Up Too But Especially Eazy-E I Always Wanted To Dress Just Like Him With The Locs & The Swagger He Had Back Then💔💯
I could tell the girl on the left of the screen was the singer for SNAP before they even talked about it
Pac good to see digital underground
Eazy was straight G 24/7 it seems, rip to all who are gone in this video 🙏🏽 Such a tragic genre of music, no other genre has such loss
This took me back.
Thanks for posting.
Wow. What an upload!
People say they want to go back to this era, but what they mean is, they want to go back to being a kid cause it felt good back then for them, that they didn't have to do that themselves.
Eeehh I wouldn’t say that, life seemed a bit more authentic back then. Whether you were a child or an adult. Everything was just authentic. Music, parties, fashion, men/women, everything was dope. I know we(blacks) had our struggles back then, but people made something out of nothing.
@abrahamlenga9951
Nah-
We dont wanna be kids again.
We jus appreciate how it was to have different lanes of music and every song wasn't about crime/criminality.
Memories from my youth
I don't remember rap city being this old
Because u didn't hav Cable. Lol
The Soul Singles commercial! 🤣🤣🤣
OMG CHRIS THOMAS the original Rap City host,, I was in 7th grade when " i got the power " came out an i won a battle house dancin that year,, This all we had an "pump it up" but that came on after midnight if u from Southern California ( not sure about all Cali cause im from SoCal) , soul train an radio stations on AM channels...
Thank you for the memories! The💩 today is straight GARBAGE.
Chris Thomas was hilarious on here lol
Chris was the man!
Who else called that 900 number to see if it’s still on 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am 38 now and here, down memory lane. So u new generation kids take notes how us old cats lived and how true we were
Turbo B and Snap were a bomb in Russia in 1992-93
SNAP! was the original Milli Vanilli
These are 2 completely different things
@@benzer126 You're right, he didn't lip sync The Power. But he did take Chill Rob G's rendition of The Power, which was a hip hop crowd hit, very slightly remixed it, and rode it to international fame as if Chill Rob didn't exist lol.. Industry rule #4080...
@@CEENAS646 both songs were dope. I love how they both said " Copywritten lyrics so they can't be stolen ".
Chill Rob has a crazy very rare remix with different lyrics u should ck out.
@@CEENAS646 The beat for both songs is produced by Michael Münzig and Luca Anzilotti with samples from the titles Let the Words Flow by Chill Rob G, Love's Gonna Get You by Jocelyn Brown and King Of The Beats by Mantronix.
Anyway... both versions are cool and Mr. Münzig and Anzilotti have become very rich with them.
Above the Law was not from South Central, LA. They are from Pomona, CA.
And, the members were affiliated with the Pomona 357 Crips.
All facts.
Why did eazy e look like a piece of cardboard in atl interview
@@mikesmith7536 I'm not sure...I know his height was 5 ft 5 in, he looked like a little brown piece of cardboard in Compton.
I guess he was built like a Hasbro dump truck.
But, Eazy E was an actual gang member (in the 80's) who had a reputation. He was part of the Kelly Park Compton Crips....his street name was Casual.
Crazy, but true.
$2 ah min ah call we had cheese back n da dayz😂😂😂😂
Wonderful times.
Wow... BEFORE Shock G took over the role of humpty 😎
Pure Art b4 the money Damaged the Art of Hiphop
I could be upstairs in my room but when I hear the dial up tone I knew someone was watching BET in the living room lol
I always thought Shock G was Humpty Hump in disguise😆
Here they are on Rap City side by side!😱
How’d they do that?😄
Shock has a brother that looks like him. I believe he would step in as needed
Mane I said the same thing that’s shock g in the videos but in public it’s a stunt double
So did i😂
Same here I'm like wtf
Bruh please don't be so simple.
they were at the Chapter III night club… a lot of bodies dropped out there.. iykyk
I remember this interview when it was recorded to, I was at the barbershop 💈 lol good times
Classic!! Can please upload BET rap city episodes from the early 1990's?? I really like the hiphop from this period!
look up "MUZIK-ZONE" on youtube he has a bunch of full rap city episodes form the 90's commercials and all..
Turbo B is lyin'. 😆He knows they stole that from Chill Rob G.
Yep, thank you
No. Rob G’s version is a remix of another song of his, and the beat has been made by Snap!, before recording TurBo B’s version
@@nitomutan4593 , incorrect. The Snap ! was not the original version ,nor was the music or lyrics for Snap. Apparently, you never heard the song, the lyrics, or anything associated. I can't stand when people who have no knowledge try to troll and do it poorly.
All facts!!!
Check out Pac.....having FUN. RIP SHOCK G AND PAC. MC LYTE.❤❤❤ I HAVENT seen it yet.
Ranching!✊🏾...ATL🖤
World power was a dope record. Witness the strength
Dope ❤
6:18 Chris Thomas was actually hilarious Comedian 😂😂
Pac was Humpty in the interview 😂
That's Shock G's brother.
@@wcorowitz ohhh thank you brotha. I stand corrected. 🫡
If a time machine existed i would definitely go back to those times
Damn the chick in the blue was rude as hell to The Mayor! Trick..lol
Eazy-E not moving an inch. LMAO! 🤣🤣🤣
Charles master Jay seem like he had a kick to himself he was singing the sex packet song hook
Back when rappers all had their own style and was individually unique....
Nowadays they all the same wether theyre mainstream or underground, ALL THE SAME!
I never knew that.
Far Rock America!
I remember those days… I thought these people were so cool, and looked up to em’ all the rappers. Man what a fool I was, it was all a set up!
Little dancehall stylee at the end of show. Ken Boothe. Bo!
Mc Lyte Was Fine 😍😍😍😍
It wasn't those girls voices 😅
i dont remember 1990 i must was sleep that whole year. but i do remember people wearing jump suits and overalls
2Pac at 14:33
Tupac @ 14:30
So dope!! ATL and Digital Underground are the shit! Crazy though, the last few years we heard Humpty Hump and Shock G were the same person but clearly in this footage we see two different people. So what's the real story about Shock G and Humpty Hump because on Rap City it was definitely not editing, there were 2 dudes for sure.
BTW, the Rap City theme song was a cover of the O'Jays "For The Love Of Money" by Carmen Elektra...yeah, Rodman's chick. 😂
Dave Navarro's chick.
Oh I forgot about Chris Thomas
