I appreciate you for taking your time for being out there showing at your talent that allows us to apply it to our life your knowledge is well appreciated from me hopefully someday I will be as talented as you
You are so welcome
The secret "transition coat." I remember seeing Gabriel from motivated painters do this. Amazing tip that in his words, "will save your life" and anyone that's worked with tri-coat white pearls knows exactly what this means.
Great job again Brian. So in this situation a good spray gun is your friend. Gotta admire the DV1. From Sydney Australia 🇦🇺, loving your work.
Excellent video! Great tips!
Soon as the weather break I'll be putting this to the test thank Brian keep it coming motivation thanks
Thanks for sharing your tips really appreciated it.
I been painting cars since I was a kid and man you just showed me something I never knew thank you for doing these videos I appreciate you 🙏
Another great one as usual Brian.

You’re a genius boss.
Thanks for the videos.
Thx for teaching me as I’m learning a lot from your vids much appreciated it mate look forward to more vids
Glad to hear it
And thank you for your time i appreciate
Great video! And now with 99% less "Go Ahead" than normal! ; ) I'm gonna Go Ahead and congratulate you on that.
My wife brought it to my attention that I said "go ahead" waaaay too much. I'll let ya in on the secret that dropped my "go ahead" count way down.... anytime you feel the urge to say "go ahead", just skip forward to the word that you were intending to say after "go ahead." Works great, and broke my "go ahead" habit in no time.
I am that guy. The one who always thinks "it just needs a little more...". I have learned over the years that that little more of whatever can often wait until I have time to think, that that little more is often unnecessary once I think it over, and that little more usually does more harm than good. Whether it's being a perfectionist or not being confident in ourselves, we could often all do with a little less of that little more.
lol
I'd love to spend a week working with Brian, that would be the ultimate prize for a competition 💪
Great tips 👌
Wow i love it
I love ur videos ur the man dude u have taught me so much and a very good teacher. Keep on keeping on😎

Hey paint society! Its me again , just wanted to say man you helped me evolve into what I've been wanting to become , throughout the years of learning from you I progressed in my career . Now I'm living the dream bro young painter with a 6 car spray booth working to paint 120 cars a week 🔥 this is what I've been working hard for , BIG thanks to you man . I'm Still Wearing your merch !
That sounds like it's gonna put you in thr grave fast
Wow, you spray 3 cars per booth a day? That’s impressive
That’s 18 cars per day
That finger snap though! :)
Great work brother 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video
Gran tips , millón gracias por compartir esos conocimientos bro 👍
Great video…Ima have to try that X pattern technique….
Great vids on pearl, ty!
Any tips on outside, always a breeze, spray can wide nozzle, Tons of over-spray. Screws with the texture and makes it look splotchy. When I hold the can closer to reduce over-spray, nozzle is too close at the center spray. Am I explaining this right? Lol
Great videos. Been several years since I've done any DIY painting, so I'm rusty as it gets. My kid messed up the front fender of my White Chocolate 2008 Ford Edge. Ordered up a new fender that I intend to paint off the vehicle, but I'm concerned about the color match to the door once installed. What would you suggest doing?
The 1988 Nissan Z31 300zx Turbo (shiro) 3 stage pearl paint is one of the hardest paints to duplicate. I have not seen anyone do it as the factory did. Your thoughts?
Im wanting to paint my sons 85 sw 4wd pearl white. From what I’ve learned from you and others I want to do the 3 stage. My question is what color primer do I need ? From what I understand it needs to be white but don’t this 2k cover a lot of blemishes and fill in some spots makin it very forgiving for the first timer like me. It’s gonna be a father son project. Thanks in advance and any other advice is greatly appreciated
Hi Brian why do you put the clear coat on first for is it 2k and would it not dry to much b4 you clear over the whole area,I also got a email about a competition I was to text back but I do know if it's ok or not
I know this is off topic but do you ever paint motorcycle fairings. I just love how you explain everything and theirs not a lot of GOOD videos on this. I'm just diy-er who paints a little and would love to give the old bike a facelift. Thanks for the great content.
Love your show. What is your pain boost brand, and how much will it cost to set it up. Please advise if you don't might.
Hi, is the x spray pattern for a more even coverage than horizontal pattern?
BRYAN can you do a video on how to tint the white under base coat on a pearl white when its off a little bit?
Usually we pick the closest variant when we buy from our paint supplier, we dont all have a mixing system bank like you guys, some of us have to buy from the paint store and depend on them to make it right,
How can i tint the underbase or how can i get a camera scan to get the closest match? Usually ive been adding drops of black.and using a spray card to tweak it but sometimes im off on the undercoat
Great video and info!! Great damn job!!💯👍. Sir what is the best way to clean glass? Thank you.
Do you wet sand after spraying is finished? Or does it mess up the pearl?
nice job bro
whats up with the x technic ? how does it work ? is works on all blends or just pearls?
For a beginner is it better to paint horizontal surfaces if you can or vertical? I'm talking about painting fenders and doors that have been removed and laying on saw horses vs. hanging them from the ceiling or some such. Thanks.
There's good and bad. Laying parts horizontally, like a hood still on the car, clear will flow out better, giving a better finish. The bad, horizontal pieces are more susceptible to things(dust, bugs, etc) falling onto it.
what primer did you use, you said primered white but the link you have is to a Gray Primer spray can . please i have been keeping my self from doing this project because im still not sure if gray vs white makes a difference for my final results
Is prep all good as a wax and grease remover?
Does the fresh paint match the existing paint or do you have to wait for fresh paint to dry
Hey man, I was just curious what you think of Nason paint? I’ve heard some swear by them and others say they’ll never use them and they’re cheap. Do you have any personal experience?
Is the blend that you use actual blend or thats adhesive promoter ?
You mixed base and mid with the clear base ?
Nice
Do you paint with solvent paint or water based paint?
Would love to see a video where you spray GM 800j
great video, exactly what I expect from the paint society. Question: did you repaint the door handles and mirror to match the new blend, it's right where the new paint is? if not, how would they match? you don't need to show it, but you should mention it either way, whether you did or not. another beginner question: what set up are you using in the air gun/compressor (not the gun, but the machine it's connected to)? does SCFM matter, or just 12-30 psi? what about moisture in the air lines; what rig are you using?
It matches matches because the color I put on the vehicle is matching the door handles
First I am a mechanic not a painter so easy ok. Lol. Since I started watching and painting I cannot put a gun down. I shot my first metallic pearl single stage today. I failed miserably the metallic in the paint went fine it was when it was drying all the pearl gathered in one area. It’s like it floated to the top and puddled. I followed the tech sheet to a tee so that thought. Don’t know what happened. Any input would be appreciated thanks. Also I am using a kiwami 4 at 18 psi.
How long distance from our hand when we spray?
Great tutorial for a newbie like me, thanks a lot brian, more tutorial videos and techniques, God bless, i also would like to ask, after the paint job, do you still buff?
If there is detects
@@PaintSociety thanks, really appreciated to be replied by a pro.
Hey Brian amazing video! I have a question. I have been watching your videos for over 3 years. First video I ever watched in your channel it was a review video when I started painting full time about 3 years ago. You were reviewing the dv1 clear coat gun. I wanted to buy the dv1 but in that video you were clearing with the dv1 and you hated it and switched to the ws400 to finish clearing. So my question is, what made you go back to using the dv1? I noticed in the last couple videos that you are using it. Amazing channel! Every time someone asks me where I learned to paint I tel them I went to CZcams University and my teacher was Brian from paint society 🤣
I can tell you have been watching a long time if you remember they video. Basically I matured as a painter and I realized that I wasn’t using the gun properly. Now I love it now that I have become better and understand paint guns better. Thanks for being a long time fan !
Do you get you guns and other things on the tool truck?
How to mix pigments and binder? Any ratio?
Brian:You often make a reference to "white primer" over your body repairs and grey primer.
Can I just use a "rattle can auto primer "over a small area or is it a must to go 2K white.
Would still do "inter coat" over the rattle can before base white. Please advise.
Use 2k in a spray can. Its gray
What spray gun would you recommend for spraying clear on headlights? Also do you have a preference on the brand of clear and hardner used for headlights
For diy? Or daily jobs?
Clear base coat is the same thing as blending additive? Also, did you sand the entire panels? Or just to where you are blending?
He mentioned in the preamble, the whole door (area being painted) had been sanded.
Yeah more or less exactly how I would do it, well done good job.
If you do have a dry edge from base can you use thinners to melt the dry edges in if being a solvent paint system?
Sand it with 2000 and reapply base with 10% more reducer
I wish you were out in Chicago😭 everyone out here is scared to do pearl white!!!
They should invent the "double like button". :)
Just for you 😀😀
great job Brian, could you help us with a full guide of pearls, types & techniques for application to enhance our paint jobs...to be a unique reference .
Yes I can
@@PaintSociety thanks bro...your videos really give us confidence as beginners to start our home projects.
❤ I want a mustache ride.
Hello
Im trying to paint my car bumper ,is a nissan qashqai 2018 th paint code is QAB ,
Pearl white ..but actually it is kind of cream white not white like in this video,,I did spray paint it and doesn't come the same colour,, don't much at all...does it affect that the primer was grey or numberof coats, im kind of confused, it gets too white and shouldn't be like that.
Much appreciated your opinion
Thank you
Needs to be remixed
I did it for the first time came out perfect👌person had chicken bones and an empty wine cooler bottle on the front seat🤦♂️
Hello, can I ask you what is clear base coat can u explain because am from Morocco and your videos helps me a lots
Clear base is just a base coat without the tint (the thing that gives color ) .
Hey Brian, been watching your videos for a while now, and maybe I missed it, but I wanted to ask what paint line would you recommend for a do it yourselfer (mid price)?
Thanks for the content.
Check out matrix. Tamco or nason
Thanks. I appreciate it
Where are you located, I need my front bumper be painted
Water based cleaner?
You make it look so easy, i am desperate to have my van painted white pearl but it costs so much 😭
but what if you spray 3 coats of base + pearl. Our local paint shop sells paint already mixed with pearl. Am I getting something wrong here
Then it’s not a tri coat.
These tips work with other pearl colors as well?
Yes
I know I'm watching through a phone.. But from this end.. It doesn't look different from out the factory paint... Or am I wrong?
De show ❤
My car has different small blotches of white everywhere on my car,due to me washing it with dish washer soap I believe,I know I’m noob to do that, how can I fix that on my whole car
i, we, would love to see you do a raptor line job with metal flake or pearl. thats a video you have never done. hell, id even donate my car as the guinea pig.
How would I go about getting my car to you guys and getting it featured on your channel??
@PaintSociety.. 😍 do I need any other info to send a text on telegram, phone number?
So u didn’t spray straight pearl.? U mixed ur mid coat with the base and then clear coated the car?
I did but after the 50/50
Which is harder to maintain and repaint... Silver, black, and white?
Anyone kindly let me know..
About to get a first personal car.. And want to get a white.. And may most likely respray it sometime this year, since I'm getting used.
Looking at white or silver... Kindly let me know
Go with white
Haha I gotta comment cause I've been down that conversation before as I've got 30 years autobody experience. That's a loaded question but to summarize. Any color on a car will have equal chances for dirtiness or wear. They are all top coated with clear coat. But too the eye black or white will appear dirty sooner than bold colors. Silver will probably hide flaws the best. As for refinishing. Black is best. Silvers and whites are the most complicated overall from the painters pov. It's mostly all the same process anyway, but more challenging for cleanliness and accurate color match on our end. Hope that helps
@@steveregehr8289 yep.. Alot... Got a silver vehicle.. Just did a spray on Tuesday... Haven't really seen it to note the color match as I didn't spray everywhere

@@neodidi good for you buddy if you have any paint questions I'd be glad to throw my advice. Everyone has their unique talent and experience to offer and me as well. Still learning every day..!
Any job offer. I can paint too
Is this 062?
my biggest problem is when the painter before mixed color not on really any code, and the customer come to you to spray over but you can't get the color he used
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼🎉😎
How you doing buddy work for over 40 years I Just Want to Thank You what you showing lots of people how to paint thanks all right now I'm in the bed I have a cancer waiting
Been painting years but my next job is the first pearl and I'm terrified
Nissan qx1 is the best pearl white
Recently bought tack cloth and fly got stuck in it from being so sticky 🤣
Unfortunately, unable to send ýou massage on telegram 🤷
I wish you were out here in Las Vegas. The hacks who did the white pearl on my Lexus make it unbearable to look at the rear quarter panel
If you stop your gun the pearl can change colors
