I have the impression that she was not participating in a competition but rather that she was giving a vocal master class.
She is 13 in this video, and she turned 17 on Jan 10th of 2023. There is no one like her on the face of the earth, she is that unbelievable good.
When you react to Bohemian Rhapsody take notice during her performance they highlight audience members in the front row. That is Angelina's Family. From left to right Her uncle and manager Michael Astar, her little sister Juliette, her mother Sarah Astar and her grandmother Mery Zamani. Notice her little sister crossing her fingers as the performance starts and later her mother wipe tears from her eyes. Also remember she said she had waited 10 years to sing for Simon. Not only did Angelina get the golden buzzer from judge Heidi Klum, but she also received huge praise from the remaining members of the legendary Queen. Queen were delighted with Angelina's arrangement and shared it on Twitter with the words "WOW, what a rendition". Over the years, I have seen hundreds and hundreds of reactors get blown away by this performance. For me, it’s the best live performance I’ve ever seen. I’m sure others could argue with that, but this is the complete package: her own arrangement of an untouchable classic, a voice for the ages, and most of all, her ability to make us hear and feel the meaning of the lyrics better than the original-by a 13 year old in front of judges on national TV. I’ve listened to this countless times and I still feel the emotion physically every time.

Johnvasi, I realized the same thing… that Angelina had the most beautiful voice I had ever heard… when I first heard “Million Miles” too. Actually the night I came across “Million Miles”, I discovered “Stay” as well, and I must’ve spent all night playing these two songs back to back, over and over. This discovery was an epiphany, and I think I’ve been listening to Angelina daily, since then.
I discovered those two songs around the time Angelina posted them; this was close to a year BEFORE America’s Got Talent, and back then I was scrambling to hear anything that Angelina had performed. My “Angelina journey” has been such a joy ever since then. 🖤👣🎶

Larry, I think this statement is not quite true . Certainly sounds great to say it as remaining band members were super impressed with her version of of the song on AGT and Angelina consequently recorded it on her own label ; however, to say Queen gave her the copyright doesn't quite correlate with the information us Angels have gleened from recent posts of current Administrators . Please feel free to correct me if you have proof otherwise. I love hearing every aspect of Angelina's success.😘🫶

Angelina is a beautiful young woman with an ability to reach into the innermost depths of your mind on a level with what is known as a "shaman". AJ makes one feel her words and sounds. In the past we may have felt a similar sensation with maybe one song from as artist, but AJ encompasses the ability to conjure up this sensation with every performance. There is a synergy between her looks, sounds, and gestures, and her abilities to activate your senses, therefore; just seeing a picture of her is enough to bring tears to one’s eyes, we are indeed, Pavlov's Dogs.
Angelina has a way of drawing you in to focus on every word in anticipation. She chooses songs with great lyrics. In my opinion her ability to reinvent songs while still paying homage to the original versions is as big of a talent as her voice. In my 69 years I have not seen such a talented artist. It must have been magical to be in that audience that day.
I was watching the night of this performance and was hooked! I believe Howie was right this performance changed her life and career. By introducing her to the USA.
I still think Howie had some behind the senes info that Angelina would not win. His comments on this and for Yellow Brick Road foretell of her not winning. It’s commercial TV after all so they produce a show just for maximum $$$$ profit.
@@ronjones1077 Angelina can't win because she didn't want to locked with AGT contract for years (it's not a good deal). She prefer signed with Republic Records (Stevie Wonder, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, etc) at age 14 because they agreed to prioritize her education. She will release her single (with RR) at the end of this month and the album in the fall.
Angelina sends "shivers down my spine" every time I watch this. Since Angelina is dropping her single in late April with Republic Records, I wonder if she will perform live as a guest artist on the Voice in May. Maybe wishful thinking.

Great reaction TYLR , that was more like an Angelina concert rather than an audition and an Angelina song rather than a cover, her voice is uniquely beautiful and so is she, nothing is off limits to her she can sing anything and adapt her voice as she likes. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. AJ's BR is so different, so unique, so brilliant in so many dimensions. Solo guitar and then piano -- there is nowhere to hide any vocal mistakes. Everything is a foil for her voice. No studio, no auto-tune, no retakes. As you say, it's AJ, a guitar, and a piano. About as close to perfection as you'll ever see in a live performance.

I had been watching Angelina for about four years when she did this and still I was shocked. It was a bit of a departure from what she had been doing in terms of style and content but perfect for the occasion. As for her ambition to sing for Simon, she learned it's a mistake to meet your heroes.

1. An important thing to remember about AJ is that she refused to sign for a record deal through AGT and they relented and invited her to sing anyway.
2. AJ is currently signed with Republic Records.
3. AJ began singing at 18 months. Her grandmother was a jazz/blues fan and played that genre of music for AJ. She fell in love with it very early on and has even arranged most if not all that she sings from age 8. What an incredible talent.
4. In 2020 she was in her mid-teenage years, stood 6 foot tall and to this day she still performs barefoot. The backstory of her encounter with the homeless girl she met while she traveled with her family through Iran at age 6 includes the weather damaged bare feet of the child she gave her own shoes to.
5. The reason she performs barefoot is to bring awareness to her public of the children worldwide who can't afford shoes of their own. She has raised millions of dollars for clothing including shoes for those unfortunate children.
6. AJ sews her own clothes, (the cloth is designed by her grandmother, now deceased).
7. We all hope to enjoy her performances for many years to come.

Queen's style was based in the rock backing of Freddie's powerful vocals. When Angelina covers a song, you always get a re-imagined version that is pensive, measured, and reflective.
Yes, this was an amazing performance. Angelina is so talented! I think she ended up runner up on that year's show (I may be wrong). I think Marcelito Pomoy won. Thanks for the reaction! She has continued to get even better as the years have passed. One of the best female artists out there. For current female voices I have her up there with Lara Fabian, and my very favorite, So Hyang.
The Acrobatic Dance Group V. Unbeatable actually won the show. They had won the 14th season of America's Got Talent. Marcelito came in 4th. Unfortunately Angelina didn’t make the top 5. However most feel that she did what she needed to do which is gain more exposure. Not winning was actually a blessing in the disguise.

Just an FYI, she’s been speaking English since she was 3 or 4 yo. She speaks 5 languages and plays 4 instruments, mostly guitar and piano.
Her and her grandmother made the outfit she performing in from cloth they had silkscreened her grandma’s paintings onto.
And yes, she’s honoring her vow she made when she was 6 yo to perform barefoot to remind herself of all the less fortunate children in the world.
Trivia:
Angelina turned 17 on 10 January 2023, and will graduate early from high school in Spring. Her grasp of English at a very young age comes from her family and the English speaking/centric schools she attended since she was very little.
The band, "Queen," so enjoyed her performance so much that they tweeted their congratulations and then gave her the rights to her rendition of their song.
AJ goes from best to even better, setting the bar at every new performance for 10 years now. Her latest songs are world class, checkout Suspicious Minds.
AGT had a tough time getting Angelina on the show. They called up out of the blue asking for her, and when her uncle Mike heard their first contract offer he laughed out loud. So she did the show without an AGT contract which meant she couldn't "win" (the top three acts all did) There is a laugh out loud moment when the sound man hands her the mike and tells her to just step up to the mike. What's next? Telling Babe Ruth to relax and make contact? And I would have loved to get Heidi to ask Angelina if she had ever performed before an audience that big, to which Angelina could say, "Oh yes, I opened for Norah Jones in front of 40,000 people in South Korea". The show was recorded in October 2019 and broadcast in January 2020 and AGT didn't realize what they had gotten themselves into. When Angelina (and Marcelito Pomoy who was in the same contract situation) didn't win, things blew up in their face, the publicity was terrible and NBC dropped any plans for a third season. Try her rendition of Suspicious Minds from last year, it's another song she totally rearranged. Keep going, your insights are great

Such a wonderful reaction. The question: "How does she do that?" Her voice range and control....her masterful will. As a very young girl, my father introduced me to Yma Sumac, an Inca Princess from the high Peruvian mountains. The air is so thin and the lungs develop quite a bit larger to take in more air. Yma was "discovered' and brought down to Capitol Records for recording. No less than a five Octave range voice. Just unbelievable Yma's control and range. I wonder about Angelina and her abilities....I wonder about Oslo Norway's elevation.....and if it had a bit to do with the vocal range of Angelina. It very well may not. But....for Yma.....look out. Elevation absolutely did play a vital part....very much so.

Have a listen to "I'm Still Holding Out For You" by 10yr old Angelina. This song was leaked, the video fan based. There was a big hoopla over this piece. This was leaked at the same time Baby Fuzz released this song. It was written between him & some other musicians at some kind of event. Anyway as I understand no one seemed interested in doing it. But what he didn't know Angelina took the song and did a demo. It got shelved. Why? Who knows. Who leaked it? Nobody's talking. Baby Fuzz eventually was told about the leak, thankfully he appreciated her version. He was supposed to have said she gave it justice. So the story goes. So, basically, it's not a cover. It's all her interpretation of the piece. I find this shows her intelligence for music. She has been referred to as a prodigy. To take a piece of music & just blow it out of the water at 10, is incredible.

First, and foremost; Angelina was not on that show to win. This was quite simply to promote and expose the US public to this prodigy that comes along maybe once in a generation. To win, AJ’s family would have had to sign a contract with Simon, and he would have been in control of her future. Her family would not allow that to happen. It was not question of money offered because AJ was already worth 2 to 3 million at the age of 13, and her family are very wealthy. I am sure America’s Got Talent was paid well by her production company Stargate, the hitmaking duo (Beyonce, Rihanna, Sam Smith). David Foster tried to sign her in the past after she won Norway's Got Talent, but the family did not like the contract. She is like nothing we have ever experienced.
You must not know the nature of the kind of negotiations that they had to get her on the show!
